Joey Logano Fumes After Ross Chastain NASCAR Wreck: 'Should Get Fined'

Joey Logano has urged NASCAR to fine Ross Chastain for crashing into him on purpose during the Cup Series race in Chicago. The incident occurred on Lap 63 in the final stage after Austin Cindric locked up in Turn 1.
Cindric made contact with Ryan Preece and Kyle Larson. Unfortunately, Larson was forced to hit Chastain, who spun out in front of Logano. Chastain was under the impression that Logano had triggered the incident.
As a retaliatory move, Chastain hit Logano in Turn 2, which catapulted him straight into Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Both cars spun out but were soon back in the race. Chastain went on to secure tenth place, while Logano finished eleventh. However, tensions flared up on pit road between both drivers after Logano confronted Chastain.
Logano mentioned that this was Chastain's second incident with him this year. The pair clashed in Martinsville earlier, when Ross intended to take out Chase Briscoe but hit Logano instead. Speaking to Bob Pockrass after the Chicago street race, Logano said:

When Pockrass said Chastain probably didn't realize who triggered the incident, Logano said:
"Typical Ross. He just sees red and does dumb stuff. That's twice this year on road courses at the end of these things I've been tossed by Ross."

Shane van Gisbergen went on to win the Xfinity Series and Cup Series races in Chicago, starting both from pole position. The achievement matches Kyle Busch's record from the 2016 race weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Notably, no other driver has won both races starting from pole position on the same weekend.

'Need Help': Cody Ware's scary crash sparks outrage over NASCAR's delayed caution
During the Chicago Street Race, Cody Ware slammed into a tire barrier at 93mph and as smoke poured out of his wrecked car, he radioed two chilling words: 'Need help.' But for nearly 35 seconds, nothing happened. NASCAR didn't throw the caution until Shane van Gisbergen took the white flag and the final lap was underway, effectively ending the race under yellow and avoiding an overtime restart. Several reports indicate that NASCAR officials did not know how serious the crash was and whether Cody Ware would manage to come out alone. Kind of like what happened to Kyle Larson at this same race last year But this time it was different and the delay was much more costly in terms of public trust. Now that the Chicago race is behind us, the fallout continues. NASCAR's response time is being questioned again and we're asking: why did it take a driver's radioed plea, and 35 seconds, to realize something was seriously wrong? The driver walked away this time.
