Walker who injured ankle above Crummock Water rescued
Cockermouth MRT were deployed on Thursday, June 12 after receiving a call about a walker who had injured their ankle near Scale Force above Crummock Water.
Upon arrival at the scene, the MRT were able to assess the casualty before they were stretchered to a waiting ambulance at Buttermere.
Writing on social media, Cockermouth MRT said: "The team worked its way down the valley before heading in on foot from Buttermere.
"Two team members in the vicinity were already on scene and had assessed the casualty, identifying an isolated ankle injury.
The walker's ankle was splinted, then they were packaged on to a stretcher and carried to a waiting NWAS ambulance at Buttermere.
"The team wishes the casualty a speedy recovery."
The rescue involve 16 team members from Cockermouth MRT and lasted three hours.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) were deployed om Friday, July 11 after receiving reports about a walker who had fallen during a walk around Ennerdale Water. The walker had been reported as having an injured wrist and was 'experiencing nausea'. After arriving at the scene, the walker was assessed and given pain relief before being escorted on foot to an awaiting ambulance. Writing on social media, Cockermouth MRT said: "Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called to a walker who had fallen whilst making their way around Ennerdale Water. "The individual reported having hurt their wrist and was experiencing nausea following the injury. "The Team made there way to the casualty from Bleach Green, once on scene pain relief was administered and the injury was splinted. "The casualty was then escorted on foot back to a waiting ambulance. "The team wishes the casualty a speedy recovery. The rescue involved 19 Cockermouth MRT members and lasted around three hours.

Mountain Rescue Teams help ill camper at Great Lingy Hill
VOLUNTEERS from two mountain rescue teams were called to action after a young man became ill at Great Lingy Hill. On Thursday, July 3, at 6:38am, Keswick Mountain Rescue Team received a call from the North West Ambulance Service. Two young men had been hiking the Cumbria Way and made it to the Lingy Hut to set up camp for the night. At around midnight, one of the men had become unwell and was vomiting regularly throughout the morning. (Image: Keswick MRT) Keswick MRT said: 'After requesting advice and assistance through NHS 111, the incident was transferred to the ambulance service who requested our help in getting the casualty off the mountain. 'Keswick team were low on numbers on this early morning callout and could only deploy one vehicle. For the second time this week, we made use of RAF MRT Lossiemouth, who were training locally.' Both teams ascended to the Lingy Hut from Carrock Mines to assess the casualty. They carried him down on a stretcher to an ambulance that was waiting. Mountain Rescue Teams aid ill camper near Grisedale Tarn
Volunteers from two mountain rescue teams were called into action in the early hours of Saturday morning after an 18-year-old camper fell ill near Grisedale Tarn. The callout was received at 1:02am on July 5, while the team was already dealing with a separate ongoing search on Glenridding Dodd. Due to the simultaneous incidents, support was requested from Penrith Mountain Rescue Team and a HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter. Six Patterdale members and seven from Penrith made their way up the Grisedale Valley to locate the casualty's tent. The individual was reportedly suffering from persistent vomiting. A team doctor assessed and treated the casualty on site. Once stabilised, the young person was put into a stretcher and airlifted from the scene by the SAR helicopter, which was able to land despite low cloud conditions. The helicopter flew the casualty to the playing field in Patterdale, where further care could be provided. The casualty's friends were safely escorted down the mountain by rescue volunteers. The incident lasted five hours and involved a total of 19 team members A spokesperson for Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team thanked all those involved, including the Coastguard crew, for their coordinated efforts.
