Muslim Salikhov plans to knock out Carlos Leal, then call out Stephen Thompson
Salikhov (21-5 MMA, 8-4 UFC) takes on Carlos Leal (22-6 MMA, 1-1 UFC) in a welterweight bout on Saturday's prelims (ABC, ESPN, ESPN+) at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
Leal's past five wins have come by early knockout, and Salikhov knows the Brazilian will bring the fight to him. However, the "King of Kung Fu" doubts Leal will oblige in the striking.
"It's a very tough fight for everybody because this guy is strong, good chin, all the time going forward, trying to pressure," Salikhov told MMA Junkie of Leal. "He's strong, fast, faster than me, stronger than me, but I'm better. I know. I believe that I am better than him. I believe that no one can fight with me in a standup fight. If he's just going to try to do striking with me, I'll knock him out for sure."
Salikhov called out Stephen Thompson (17-9-1 MMA, 12-9-1 UFC) after his spinning wheel kick knockout of Song Kenan in his most recent appearance this past November. Salikhov is yet to get his wish but won't give up on his callout should he get his hand raised against Leal.
"Of course, 'Wonderboy' is a very interesting fight," Salikhov said. "I don't care that he's unranked now. I think I'd like to fight with him since my first win in the UFC, I called him out, and he didn't hear. I don't know why. I do a lot of knockouts, beautiful fights, but he still doesn't want to fight.
"I don't know why, but maybe after this fight. ... This guy very famous in America, so it's a good fight for anyone. We can see who's kung fu is better. He's a striker, karate guy. I'm kung fu. We can understand who's better now. He's (42) years, young guy, me too also. We can try. It's going to be a good fight, exciting for fans."

Chelsea Are Keeping A Keen Eye On This Manchester United Winger: Good Option For Maresca?
In a recent report, ESPN's James Olley claimed that Chelsea are keeping a keen eye on Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. It has been revealed that the Blues are monitoring the situation of the Argentine attacker as they look to recruit him this summer. Garnacho's Impressive Form In English Football Garnacho had a decent campaign at Old Trafford recently but struggled to find consistency at times for Man United in the final third. The 21-year-old found the back of the net 11 times and earned ten assists in 58 matches for the Red Devils last season in multiple competitions. The Argentine talent was a real menace in the opponent's half as he averaged 3.44 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 34.5% of his attempts on target. Garnacho was tidy when interchanging possession with his teammates in the final third after completing 78.9% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via Garnacho's current contract at the Mancunian club will run out in the summer of 2028. Therefore, it won't be easy for Chelsea to get a deal done for him this off-season. BILBAO, SPAIN – MAY 21: Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United walks past the UEFA Europa League trophy after his team's defeat in the UEFA Europa League Final 2025 between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United at Estadio de San Mames on May 21, 2025 in Bilbao, Spain. (Photo by) Is Garnacho A Good Option For Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca? Garnacho is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it in the final third. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the eye to play some killer passes in the opponent's half. The Argentina international is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also perform as a right-winger or as a centre-forward if required. He is already quite familiar with Premier League football and won't take any time to adjust to life at Chelsea. Garnacho would add more pace and goals to Enzo Maresca's frontline. He is good enough to serve as a useful rotational piece in the West London club's match-day squad. At 21, Garnacho has the potential to be a future star in the Premier League. Therefore, it makes sense for the Blues to get him on board this summer. He has what it takes to help Chelsea compete across all fronts over the next decade which makes him a decent option for the London giants to consider this off-season.

Each inning is treated like a mini-game, with one point awarded to the team that scores the most runs in that inning.
