Nearly half of Magic Kingdom's attractions shut down Monday night, reports say

Yahoo11-02-2025
The same night that the Philadelphia Eagles were celebrating their Super Bowl win at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, nearly all the rides shut down at the park, according to reports by local outlets WKMG News 6 and WOFL.
There were also some social media posts about the issue.
"My brother is at Disney World right now & everything just stopped," @MelissaElrod20 wrote in the post on X. "People are stuck in rides everywhere [and] all the lights inside the rides are on. He said it's pandemonium in the streets at the Magic Kingdom."
"This is crazy," wrote a Reddit user in the Walt Disney World subreddit. "Several ride queues emptied out in front of me. [I] go to the next ride, and it's being emptied."
Hours before the park was set to close at 10 p.m. local time, the My Disney Experience app listed 18 out of the park's 40 attractions as "temporarily closed," reported local news outlet News 6. Guests use the My Disney Experience app to view the wait times of rides and the app also shows which rides are out of service.
At 8 p.m. on Monday, only five rides were available to ride, according to News 6.
Attractions guests were able to ride included the following, according to the news outlet:
The Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square
Jungle Cruise in Adventureland
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover in Tomorrow Land
Tron Lightcycle / Run in Tomorrowland
As of Tuesday morning, at 8:45 a.m. ET, some of the rides that were listed as "temporarily unavailable" on Monday have wait times and seem to be available on the My Disney Experience app. Rides without wait times listed on the rides will not open until 9 a.m. ET.
USA TODAY has reached out to Walt Disney World for comment.
Although there were claims online that the shutdown was due to a power outage, what actually caused the park's attractions to be shut down remains unclear.
While the rides shut down before the park closed, Magic Kingdom was scheduled to host a "Disney After Hours" ticketed event, according to Walt Disney World's website.
The event allows guests who purchased a separate ticket, priced from $175 to $185 plus tax, to stay from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., after the park closes for regular ticket or annual pass holders.
However, by 10 p.m., the time the event was set to start, only three rides were shut down, reported WOFL.
On the list were the following:
Space Mountain in Tomorrowland
Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Frontierland
"It's a Small World" in Fantasyland
It is unclear if the event was affected by the ride closures.
On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles, the winners of the big game that happened the night before, also made the traditional visit to the Magic Kingdom.
In a video posted to Walt Disney World's Instagram, Jalen Hurts, the Eagle's quarterback, can be seen on a parade float with Mickey and Minnie Mouse driving down Main Street USA.
It is not known if the Philadelphia Eagles were affected by the ride shutdown.
As of Tuesday, at 8:45 a.m. ET, the only rides that were listed on the theme park app as unavailable were previously closed for refurbishment before Monday night's shutdown.
The rides "closed for refurbishment" are:
Astro Orbitor in Tomorrowland
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland
The Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square

Aaron Rodgers hits back at Terry Bradshaw after Steelers legend called his signing a ‘joke'

Aaron Rodgers has plenty of respect for Terry Bradshaw, who spent 14 years with — and won four Super Bowls for — the same Steelers franchise that Rodgers is now tasked with quarterbacking. But Bradshaw, who shredded Pittsburgh's decision to pursue Rodgers in May as 'a joke,' is only basing those judgements off perception and 'doesn't know me,' Rodgers said in an interview with NFL Network on Saturday. 'I've known Terry for a long time, being a part of Fox,' Rodgers said. 'Terry's a legend. He's an absolute legend. He won four Super Bowls. He's had a legendary career in the media. But Terry, like a lot of people, doesn't know me. So he's got an idea of what he thinks about me based on what I've done, the documentary, what I've said, darkness retreat, whatever the hell you want to talk about.' When Bradshaw appeared on Arkansas' 103.7 The Buzz in May, Rodgers' one-year, $13.65 million deal was still more than a week away from being official, and the Steelers were still waiting — and waiting, and waiting — on Rodgers to decide whether he'd play a 21st NFL season or walk away. 3 Aaron Rodgers talks with Kyle Brandt at training camp. NFL And when the 41-year-old opted to play what he acknowledged will likely be his final campaign, he became tasked with erasing the obstacles and struggles from his last two seasons with the Jets — a torn Achilles just four snaps into 2023 and some of the worst numbers of his career in 2024, respectively — and ensure that Pittsburgh's 21-year streak of not having a losing season remains intact. Bradshaw, though, would've preferred a different option at quarterback. 3 Terry Bradshaw is pictured in February 2023 at the Super Bowl. USA TODAY Sports 'That's a joke. That is, just to me, is a joke,' Bradshaw said at the time. 'What are you going to do, bring him in for one year, are you kidding me? That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.' Rodgers, when specifically asked about Bradshaw's comments, joked that 'I whisper to the gods every single day' and extended an open invitation to get to know Bradshaw 'on a deeper level if he's open to it.' 3 Aaron Rodgers is pictured July 26 at training camp. AP 'I feel like if he gave me a chance to get to know him then we'd have a good friendship,' Rodgers told NFL Network, 'because for me I have nothing but the utmost amount of respect and deference for what the greats have done because they laid the foundation for us to be able to play in this great game, to be paid like kings. … So I'd love to get to know Terry on a deeper level if he's open to it. Maybe we can go chew some bark, or whatever the hell he's talking about, together.' Rodgers, who revealed after signing with the Steelers that he got married in the offseason, will face his former team in Week 1 when they travel to MetLife Stadium for a matchup with the Jets.

HBO releases 'Hard Knocks' 2025 schedule featuring the Buffalo Bills

HBO's "Hard Knocks" series will be on-demand viewing for Buffalo Bills fans this summer. HBO has released the episode airing dates for the documentary series following the Bills throughout this year's training camp. HBO will release the first episode of the series on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 9 p.m. Viewers may also stream the episodes on HBO Max. Each subsequent episode will be released weekly on Tuesday night, culminating with the season finale on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The 2025 edition of the series, officially titled "Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills," will explore Buffalo's ramp-up to another highly anticipated season. Buffalo is the favorite to win the AFC East, and the Bills are among the top bets to make a run to the Super Bowl. The episodes will provide an all-access look at the team, both on and off the field. Quarterback Josh Allen, who will undoubtedly be a focal point of the show, isn't worried about the cameras at training camp. "This is what a good organization looks like, and people are going to get a sneak peek into that and just how we operate." Allen adds, "So again, you can kind of think two ways about it, but we're taking the way of like, hey, let's just do what we do and whatever is shown is shown." Several other storylines may be of interest to producers. The series can explore what the Bills need to do to finally get over the hump and win their first AFC Championship since 1993. Additionally, there are several interesting subplots. Running back James Cook, in search of a new contract, is fully participating in activities. Buffalo's new-look defensive line, with several new additions via the draft and free agency, will be something to watch as well. Beyond the sidelines, safety Damar Hamlin, who has advocated for youth safety and resources since his cardiac arrest in January 2023, was present when New York Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation for youth sports organizations to have AEDs (automatic defibrillator devices) and implementation plans for youth events. The preview of the Bills' appearance on "Hard Knocks" can be found below:
