Aberdeen sell Pape Habib Gueye to Turkish side Kasimpasa for ‘significant' fee
The 25-year-old Senegal striker moved to Pittodrie in August 2023 from Belgian club KV Kortrijk.
After going out on loan to Norwegian outfit Kristiansund Ballklubb in the second half of his first season at Aberdeen, Gueye returned to the Granite City last summer and scored 12 goals last term before coming on in the second half of the cup final triumph over Celtic in May.
'We wish Pape all the very best with his transfer to Turkey, and we thank him for his contributions during his time at Aberdeen, notably his positive impact in the Scottish Cup final,' manager Jimmy Thelin told the Dons website.
'We're pleased with our recruitment so far this summer and the work remains ongoing to bring in further reinforcements and improvements ahead of the window closing. We are still shaping the squad.
'We thank Pape for his efforts and wish him all the best with the next chapter in his career.'

But Jackson is Emery's first choice and is hoping they reduce the asking price with Chelsea having brought in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro and about to snap up RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons. Jackson has received criticism over his goalscoring return since joining Chelsea in 2023, despite scoring 17 times in his first season and 13 in the last campaign. He recently spoke out about his future after a reporter suggested he faced "competition" from Delap and Pedro. "Competition? I have no competition," he told DSports TV. "We're all here to help the club. Everyone has their role to play. I'm on a mission. It's up to the coach to make his choices. I focus solely on my work.' "I'm a Chelsea player. Aberdeen's Alfie Dorrington feels he can be even better than last season
Alfie Dorrington reckons he will be an even better defender for Aberdeen this season than he was in his fruitful loan stint last term. The 20-year-old made 16 appearances for the Dons after joining from Tottenham in January, with the last of those a standout display in the stunning Scottish Cup final triumph over Celtic in May. Dorrington returned to Aberdeen last month on a season-long loan and he believes his experience of playing in the Premiership last season can help him kick on to new heights. 'Yes, 100 per cent,' he said. 'I felt every game I was improving with the run of games, which helped me become more confident. 'At first, I was just trying to settle in. But then, when you feel like you get the trust of the team, the fans, the staff, I think it brings out a new side to my game.' Dorrington was delighted to get the chance to return to Aberdeen. 'I just loved it so much,' he said of last season's spell at Pittodrie. 'I got a good run of games towards the end of the season and finished on a high. 'I just want to build more momentum. Obviously, I'm familiar with the boys, the staff, the city. When I found out that I had the opportunity, it was a no-brainer to come back.' The Dons kick off their league campaign on Monday away to a Hearts side now under the charge of their long-time former manager Derek McInnes. 'Shock team' Hearts to 'split the Old Firm' this season?
We asked for your views on how Hearts are shaping up for the new season, which kicks off at home to Aberdeen on Monday what some of you said: Jim: Any major changes at a football club take time to acclimatise but I do feel Hearts might well be the shock team this season. The manager was recruited in good time, new signings are showing promise and with Craig Gordon and Lawrence Shankland still with the club, we are in good shape. What we need is a George Burley sort of start, and build from there. We could realistically challenge Rangers for second place. I would set my minimum as finishing third and winning one cup. Chris: Derek McInnes wasn't my first choice as manager, but he's a solid operator at this level, so if nothing else I expect us to be hard to beat. Seeing the new level of physicality has been badly missed. Only time will tell if we recruited broadly or quality, hoping the latter is what we enjoy this season. Here we Hearts will split the Old Firm this season. We are strong, fast, sharp and working together. Rangers have brought in players who already look like duds. This is our McInnes seems to be the pragmatic and experienced manager that Hearts deserve. Recruitment seems to have been sensible as well. It's not too much to hope for a good cup run and at least top four in the league. Hearts have underachieved for a long time, but it has been obvious we have needed more mobility, height and goalscorers. McInnes and Tony Bloom's analytics seems to have addressed all of those factors. This may all be mindless optimism, but it can't be as bad as the hapless Neil Critchley era, can it?Dave: After a good start, and mind you against lower-league opposition, talk of a third-place finish is way too premature. Lots of new, and some familiar faces all vying for a spot in the starting line-up, sounds positive and competitive, but can have its downside. There will be a few ups and downs in the first run of league fixtures which will show where we stand and from that some continuity may be found.
