Jeff Bezos marries blushing bride Lauren Sanchez in £48milion Venice wedding

Daily Mirror15 hours ago

The world's second richest man Jeff Bezos has tied the knot with his longterm love, Lauren Sanchez. The couple are now officially husband and wife after they said their 'I do's' in a lavish £48million ceremony surrounded by their famous friends and family.
The couple exchanged vows in a ceremony lasting about 25 minutes, with family and friends gathered at the event. They were heard cheering, clapping and whistling for the pair after they said 'I do'.
While the couple have celebrated their wedding today in Venice, it was reported that the pair had actually tied the knot weeks ago. According to a well-placed insider involved in the event planning, they said: 'They have been married for at least a month, more than a month. The marriage is fully legal and took place in America under American law.'
Though this week's festivities have been widely billed as their wedding, the source revealed it's purely ceremonial. 'When they were planning the wedding, they were clear about the fact that they were already secretly married,' the insider said.
Because the legal marriage has already occurred, there was no need for a license in Italy. 'There is no application for a wedding licence from the couple because it was not required. Whatever happens at the wedding on Friday, it will not be a wedding.
"Under Italian law, it will not be a wedding celebration, any vows said or rings exchanged will have no legal meaning," they told Mail Online.
The same source added that Bezos himself confirmed the legal union and noted the pair had arranged a prenuptial agreement to safeguard his $244 billion fortune. Bezos and Sánchez reportedly married privately in the U.S., well before the high-profile Venetian celebration began.
The couple arrived in Venice this week ahead of their lavish wedding celebrations, which will take place over the next few days. A helicopter picked Bezos and his bride-to-be up from his superyacht Koru's support ship, the Albeona.
They were docked just off the coast of Croatia, with the yacht taking 61-year-old Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, 55, to the city of Venice. It landed in the Venice Lido, which is where the annual Venice Film Festival takes place.
To kicked proceedings off on Thursday night, a casual welcome dinner will be held at the 14th Century Madonna dell'Orto church. Local sources claimed security is ultra-tight, turning the stunning city into a "fortress-like operation".
The ceremony was expected to take place at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, an historic 16th-century building in the city centre. But the No Space for Bezos campaign group claim the couple scrambled to change their plans, after activists threatened to block the canals with inflatable crocodiles to stop their guests from attending.
Instead, it's been moved to Arsenale, a shipyard complex which will be near-impossible for protestors to get to. Lauren Sanchez and her new husband arrived, with Lauren wearing oversized black sunglasses and a simple black halterneck dress.
Meanwhile, their high-profile guests started to descend on the city earlier this week. Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka arrived with her husband Jared Kushner. She wore a green dress and canvas sunhat as she arrived by boat after a day of sightseeing. The couple's three children, Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick and Theodore James, joined them.
Other guests to arrive early include Jeff's adoptive father Miguel Bezos, as well as Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian. Just 11 people live on the island and its only dwelling is a modest five-bedroom home, previously the guesthouse to a convent which was part of a long-destroyed monastery complex.

Shoppers ditch bean-to-cup coffee machines for at-home gadget with £181 off

The De'Longhi Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima has impressed coffee lovers with its flavourful coffee and straightforward set up - and it's got 48% off For those in the market for a brand new coffee machine, Nespresso has teamed up with Italian coffee powerhouse De'Longhi, bringing caffeine lovers a swanky new coffee machine that is currently on sale. The De'Longhi Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima is compatible with a range of different espresso pods from Nespresso. The machine, which has had rave reviews, can be tailored to make five black coffee sizes, including espresso, double espresso, gran lungo, mug/coffee and carafe via four different coffee pod sizes (which seem to come with the machine). Unlike a number of Nespresso machines, this particular gadget comes with a built-in De'Longhi milk frother, which is great for those who enjoy a cappuccino and latte instead of a black Americano. The milk frother attached to the machine can create three milk-based recipes, cappuccino and latte macchiato, as well as the option to create a personalised one with the Extra Hot Foam button. Plus, the frothing section of the device can be detached for refilling. Costing £199 instead of its usual price tag of £379.99, shoppers can save a whopping £180.99 for the black design and £183.59 for the white/silver variation. With a built-in milk frother that can add the milk automatically to the cup, it rivals the likes of the BREVILLE One-Touch CoffeeHouse II VCF147 Coffee Machine, which is also on sale for £169.99 from £349.99. While the Nespresso De'Longhi machine has pre-set buttons to generate the desired aerated milk, the Breville machine has a dial to control how much air is being delivered to the milk. Although for those who prefer a simple pod-only coffee machine without the bells and whistles of a milk frother (and the more expensive price tag), the Philips Sublime L'OR Pod Coffee Machine is currently on sale at Argos for £60 down from £105. Although coffee lovers are certainly lauding praise on the De'Longhi Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima machine, with many people saying how 'amazing' the coffee it makes is. One happy Nespresso fan said: "This machine is amazing. We've tried Nespresso coffee for the first time on holidays. We've had the coffee machine in our room. I've said then I would love to buy one once we back. And here we are, I've bought it and it's amazing. The machine is so sleek, coffee is amazing, full of flavour and tasty. "Not as easy to operate as my previous machine, but I will get used to it. The best thing is that once you've done the coffee, you can open the 'lid' and the used capsule is thrown automatically to the 'bin'. This is brilliant! "I can't wait to test all the different types of coffee available. But so far, so good. The temperature of the coffee was perfect, milk was lovely and frothy. Just perfect!" Another reflected: " My coffee machine arrived in beautiful packaging. Thanks to the video instructions provided by Nespresso, I was able to make my first start-up easily. The machine is designed to be simple to use, making it a pleasant process. I liked the fact that I could store the milk I hadn't used up in the fridge without dirtying another container. "I previously had mixed feelings about capsule coffee machines, but thanks to the welcome box with a selection of capsules in different flavours, I was quickly reassured that the purchase was a good choice. What captivated me about this coffee machine is that it cleans itself. Cleaning The milk frother has a dedicated programme to clean itself, and the whole milk container can be disassembled in several parts and is dishwasher safe." Although their one qualm? "The machine is actually noisier than I thought it would be, but relative to the many advantages it has, this becomes a minor thing." Someone else echoed this slight gripe and said: "Things to note: I did find the machine to be quite noisy but this did not bother me at all. It is also a bit of a bulky coffee machine compared to other compact machines Nespresso has made but it has the added bonus of the milk frother so no need to purchase it separately!" One shopper even ditched their bean-to-cup machine in favour of this and said: "Absolutely love this machine. It turns out perfect coffee every time. We deliberated for a long time about moving from our bean to cup machine but so pleased we did. The range of coffee blends and strengths is wide plus the flavoured pods deliver some pleasant alternatives to a straight coffee (my other half loves the almond croissant flavour)." The De'Longhi Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima is available at Amazon for £199 down from £379.99 for a limited time only.

Liverpool ‘play Alexander Isak waiting game' for dream summer signing

Liverpool have already splashed the cash in the transfer market this summer and could potentially make Newcastle star Alexander Isak their latest big-money signing Liverpool are willing to bide their time to make a move for Newcastle sensation Alexander Isak. The Swedish forward has been identified as a potential signing for the Reds this summer as they aim to bolster their attack. Current striker Darwin Nunez has been linked with a move to Italian champions Napoli, which would leave a vacancy at Anfield. But a deal looked difficult given Newcastle were in no mood to sell, while they also put an eye-watering £150m asking price on Isak. ‌ But it appears that Liverpool actually have a plan in place to potentially seal a late deal. The Liverpool Echo have reported that Merseyside chiefs are happy to just keep an eye on developments as it stands. ‌ They believe that Newcastle could potentially need funds to finance an imminent spree in the market. The Magpies are chasing lucrative deals for James Trafford, Anthony Elanga and Joao Pedro - with a £100m+ deal for Isak going a long way in helping Newcastle afford those three deals. There is also the small matter of Newcastle's efforts to keep Isak at St James' Park. Previous reports have suggested that the Magpies were willing to make the striker the highest-paid player in the club's history and it is suggested that Liverpool would have no issue in matching his demands. So, it may be wise for Arne Slot 's side to actually bide their time to see how discussions go. Meanwhile, Liverpool could also have more freedom when it comes to PSR restrictions closer to the end of the window. Their mega money deals for Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong look set to go into last season's figures and given the Reds' relatively low spending in the seasons prior, they have a lot of headspace, meaning another huge fee could potentially be affordable. Speaking last season, Eddie Howe was unable to give any guarantees that his star forward would stay in the North East. He said: "I never make those guarantees about any player and it's not to do with Alex's future but I'd be foolish to sit here and do anything like that. ‌ Do you think Liverpool could sign Alexander Isak this summer? Share your thoughts in the comments below 'We want to keep our strongest players, I've said that ever since I've been here and sat in this seat. We have to try and keep our best players and bring in more good players to make us even stronger because the ambition of the club and everyone connected with the club is long-term success and that's the only way to get that." Meanwhile, Isak has also confirmed his stance on his future. He said: 'I don't know much, to be honest. From within the club and from our side there are absolutely no discussions. It's just full focus on playing for me. There's not much to say, really. I've commented on my situation and my security in Newcastle several times. ‌ 'It's been written how much I love the city and the club, how well I feel there. I'm not thinking about the future. I just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we won the cup, but we want to finish strong and reach the Champions League games. That's where my focus lies. 'There is no reason for me to think about anything else (other than Newcastle). I feel incredibly comfortable at Newcastle. The only focus I have is on playing.'
