6 Summer Dress Styles To Wear With Your New Boat Shoes

Elle10-06-2025

Boat shoes are proving themselves to be a top shoe trend of summer 2025.
The nautical shoe, whose most recent resurgence was catalysed by Miu Miu's SS24 collegiate collection, has almost replaced the loafer as most popular shoe in ELLE UK's head office thanks to its practicality and ease.

However, as we move into summer, and swapping out our denim jeans for dresses, some staff members are struggling with how exactly to style their boat shoes. With deck shoes' Indie Sleaze and Sloane-y overtones, they can be tricky to do right, that's why we've put together some outfit recipe suggestions to help.
From shirt dresses to silky slips, here are our suggestions. All you need to do is add a pair of slim socks and anchors away.
Take your boat shoes to the boardroom this summer with a shirt dress. Arket's striped cotton version will keep you cool through the warmer months, and can be layered over jeans and white vest come Autumn.
If you were wearing your boat shoes with denim jeans then a denim dress is a natural next step. Ganni's mini dress, complete with drop waist peplum, will give a girlish charm to your outfit.
Broderie Anglaise has to be one of the most whimsical fabrics to wear in summer, and this maxi sundress proves the point. Pair with an earthy-hued boat shoe (and maybe a suede jacket?) and you're living the boho dream.
If you enjoy the 'wrong shoe theory' then a dreamy slip dress paired with a formal boat shoe is the look for you. Mango's seafoam iteration would look great with some bunched up socks, a beat up bag and lashings of necklace and bracelet charms.
For those who typically avoid trends, try a minimal maxi dress, like this one from Cos, with a masculine-shaped, suede boat shoes. Pair with a blazer and you can take this outfit to the office.
When the weather turns, or you find yourself on a sunny isle miles away, consider a cotton voile nightie-style mini with you sun-bleached Miu Miu shoes. Some simple gold jewellery, sunhat and basket bag will complete the ensemble.

Katy Perry's Tearful Onstage Moment May Have Foreshadowed Trouble With Orlando Bloom

While Katy Perry's romance troubles with former fiancé Orlando Bloom were rumored for months, the 40-year-old pop star might have been openly weeping about their demise while she was on tour. A newly resurfaced video on X from her Mexico City tour dates in late April shows an emotional moment while singing her 2010 single, 'Pearl.' (You can see the video clip here.) One look at her anguished face as she sang the lyric, 'I let him rule my world,' and fans just knew she was going through something. They may not have known it was directly related to Bloom, but the pain resonated throughout the arena. More from SheKnows Orlando Bloom Seemingly Cozied Up to Someone Close to the Royal Family During Jeff Bezos' Wedding She continued with the song, 'But I woke up and grew strong, and I can still go on and no one can take my pearl.' That foreshadowing moment on The Lifetimes Tour may have hinted that there was trouble on the horizon between the couple. Their relationship appeared to be rocked by her Blue Origin space flight on April 14. Even though Bloom was in attendance to support Perry with their four-year-old daughter Daisy, he reportedly didn't approve of her short jaunt to space. 'He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous,' an insider told the Daily Mail. 'He said it was cringeworthy. Embarrassing. Imagine going to space… and your partner isn't impressed. Of course, she was hurt.' The Mexico City tour dates began only nine days after the Blue Origin trip, so it seems that her emotions were running high. Despite rumors of a possible reconciliation, it looks like Perry and Bloom are done for now. He attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Venice wedding alone on June 27 while Perry is enjoying tour dates in Australia. TMZ was the first to report their split on June 24 and People confirmed that the former dynamic duo went their separate ways on June 26. Their love story began in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty and continued in an on-again, off-again fashion for years until their Valentine's Day engagement in 2019. Perry gushed about her relationship with Bloom in September 2024 during an interview on Apple Music with Zane Lowe. 'He's a real sage. We both have parts of ourselves. There's two parts of us, our highest good, and then our carnal, material self. Ego,' Perry said. 'When the ego is running the show, then it's like, 'Whoa.' But when that's in check, then we're both something else.'Best of SheKnows 60 Times Emma Stone's Timeless Red Carpet Fashion Looks Took Our Breath Away 39 Times Actresses Totally Transformed For a Role: See Side-by-Side Photos Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sánchez's Full Relationship Timeline

Katy Perry Is Reportedly 'Upset But Relieved' About Her 'Split' From Orlando Bloom

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's love story is officially over after nearly ten years together. The former couple, who share a four-year-old daughter named Daisy, were plagued by split rumors for weeks, with the singer ditching her engagement ring on multiple occasions. Now, according to insiders, the breakup has left Katy Perry "upset" and "relieved" at the same time as she keeps busy with her Lifetimes Tour. Perry and Bloom have finally ended their nearly decade-long relationship. A close source who spoke to Us Weekly noted that the former couple has "split but are amicable." 'It's not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life," the source continued, referencing the singer's divorce from comedian Russell Brand. The insider further stressed that Perry and Bloom's separation has been 'a long time coming,' noting that the situation between the pair has been 'tense for months.' However, while Perry feels saddened by the end of their relationship, she is said to be "distracted" and 'keeping busy' on her Lifetimes Tour, which she kicked off in April. The confirmation of Perry's split from Bloom comes shortly after it was revealed that she rented out the Montecito home she had fought hard to acquire from an ailing veteran. Perry spent exorbitant legal fees in a bid to secure the mansion in Montecito, California, hoping that it would be the home she would raise her family with Bloom. According to the Daily Mail, the "I Kissed A Girl" singer rented the place out to actor Chris Pratt, as he and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, recently moved into the sprawling estate in the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains. "The arrangement suits Chris, but it's a bit of a surprise given how Katy fought tooth and nail to get her hands on the house," a source told the news outlet. "She previously suggested it was the ideal place for her and Orlando to raise a family. After all that time, energy, and money, it seems unthinkable that they are not going to live in it." Pratt is understood to have been in need of a temporary place to stay for himself, his wife, and their three children while they build a new mansion in L.A.'s Brentwood neighborhood. Perry and Bloom's relationship seemed to have been further strained by the singer's decision to go on an all-female trip to space. After the now-infamous 11-minute spaceflight on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin spacecraft, Perry had gushed in a radio interview that her fiancé, Bloom, was "all about the journey." However, a source claimed that the opposite was the case, stating that Bloom "did not approve" of it as he never thought "going on the mission was a good idea." Speaking to The U.S. Sun, the insider went further to explain that Bloom "knew she would get backlash" from the mission and was "frustrated" and "disappointed" with her decision to take part in it. "From day one, Orlando didn't think going on the Blue Origin mission was a good idea, and knew she would face backlash," the source said. "He always thought it was a stupid idea, and she wouldn't get anything positive out of it." Perry and Bloom's relationship had previously faced challenging times, which ultimately led to a split in 2017. Addressing the breakup in a 2024 appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, the "Teenage Dreams" singer said both of them "weren't really in it from day one." "He was because he had just done a huge time of celibacy, and he had set intentions," Perry noted, per Page Six. She continued, "I was fresh out of a relationship, and I was like, I can't do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond, but I had to do a lot of real work." Bloom, like Perry, also addressed the difficulties he and the singer faced in their relationship, suggesting that their differing career paths may have contributed to the issues they encountered at the time. "We're in two very different pools [for their work]. Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands," Bloom told Flaunt Magazine. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor continued: "Sometimes things are really, really, really challenging. I won't lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity." "I think we're both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did. And there's definitely never a dull moment," he added. Amid their separation, Bloom is confirmed to be attending Bezos' wedding to Sanchez solo, while Perry forges ahead with her Lifetimes Tour.

Under the Vines Season 4: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on June 27, 2025, 20:20 IST Last updated June 27, 2025, 20:22 IST If you're anything like me, Under the Vines has you hooked with its mix of laugh-out-loud moments, heart-tugging drama, and those jaw-dropping New Zealand vineyard views. The show, centered on two city folks stumbling through life as vineyard owners, wrapped its third season in September 2024, and fans are already itching for Season 4. So, what's the word on a new season? Let's dig into the release date rumors, who's likely coming back and what might be next for Oakley Wines. Under the Vines Season 4 Potential Release Date As of now, Acorn TV and TVNZ haven't dropped an official word on Under the Vines Season 4. But let's be real—the show's got a solid fanbase, and that Season 3 finale left us all hanging. Season 3 got the green light in October 2023 and landed on August 19, 2024, which gives us a roughly 10-month turnaround from announcement to premiere. If the show follows that vibe, we might hear about Season 4 by summer 2025, with a release sometime between August and December 2025. My guess? Late fall 2025 feels right, given the show's usual rhythm. Keep your eyes peeled on Acorn TV's socials or their website for the big reveal. Fingers crossed! Under the Vines Season 4 Expected Cast While no official cast list has been confirmed for a potential Season 4, the core ensemble from Season 3 is likely to return, given their central roles in the story. The main cast includes: Rebecca Gibney as Daisy Monroe : The former Sydney socialite who's now a dedicated vintner. Her wedding drama in Season 3 left fans wondering about her future. Charles Edwards as Louis Oakley : The reserved London lawyer whose partnership with Daisy is the show's heart. His romantic arc is a key focus. Sarah Peirse as Marissa Silverton : The cunning owner of rival Shimmering Lake vineyard, always stirring up trouble. Trae Te Wiki as Tippy Bidois : The quirky, talented winemaker at Oakley Wines, whose confidence has grown. Simon Mead as Gus : The vineyard's reliable manager, bringing humor and loyalty. Allan Henry as Vic Grimes : The local lawyer who joined in Season 3, navigating legal battles. Carrie Green as Nic Grimes : Vic's wife, whose personal story added emotional depth. Mark Mitchinson as William McVallum: The newcomer claiming half of Oakley Wines, creating major conflict. Supporting characters like Catherine Wilkin as Hilary van der Boor, the eccentric owner of Coven Wines, may also return. New characters could be introduced to add fresh drama, as seen in past seasons. Under the Vines Season 4 Potential Plot Season 3 of Under the Vines ended with big moments, particularly Daisy's wedding and the ongoing fight over Oakley Wines. The finale left fans questioning who Daisy married and whether she and Louis can secure the vineyard from William's claim. Here's what Season 4 might explore: Daisy's Wedding Aftermath : The Season 3 cliffhanger hinted at uncertainty about Daisy's groom. Season 4 could dive into her relationships and their impact on Oakley Wines. The Battle for Oakley Wines : Daisy and Louis will likely keep fighting to reclaim full ownership from William, possibly uncovering more about his past. Vineyard Shenanigans : Expect more funny mishaps and wine-making challenges as the team works to make Oakley Wines a success. Supporting Character Arcs: Tippy's growth as a winemaker, Gus' role at the vineyard, and Nic and Vic's new chapter as parents could drive compelling side stories. The show's mix of humor, heart, and gorgeous New Zealand scenery will likely continue. Writers like Erin White, Kelly Lefever, and Nick Ward are expected to keep the story fresh and engaging.
