'Jannik Sinner triumphs at Wimbledon and makes an entire nation dream. Proud of you, champion!'
A first Wimbledon title was sweet revenge for the 23-year-old, who lost an epic five-setter to Alcaraz in the French Open final lust last month.
Former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli, commentating on BBC 5 Live, said: 'It's so rightly deserved.

'To be able to come back from that, play another grand slam final against the same opponent and be in the same situation, serving for the match and pull out the game he has put together – I can't imagine what they've been going through until this final.'
Australian Pat Cash, the 1987 champion, felt Sinner's gameplan worked to perfection.
'A great performance. Just great serving, nullifying the drop shots of Alcaraz,' said the BBC pundit.

'Alcaraz was below par on his serve and that made a big difference.'
Alcaraz's stunning shot to take the first set, a flicked backhand cross-court winner on the stretch, had former British number one Tim Henman purring.
'That was a moment of magic,' he said. 'Such a great rally at set point, the control of the racket face from Alcaraz to direct a winner from that position. There is no one else who has that athletic ability.'
Two-time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal posted on his Instagram story: 'Congratulations Jannik Sinner. Special moments!
'I know it wont be an easy day, but congratulations Carlos Alcaraz for another new grand slam final and for the great season you are having.'

Askou insists Motherwell won't rush Miller transfer exit
'The market is lively, sometimes it's crazy and sometimes clubs are waiting or players are waiting for the right move," said Askou. "That's the most important thing for me to say right now concerning Lennon. 'I know and I understand and we appreciate all the interest there is around Lennon, and his future, and Motherwell as a football club. 'But I think for us right now it's time to say, let's look at it when something specific and concrete comes up, and when we're ready to inform. 'That's the last thing I will say now in terms of commenting on Lennon. And in general, when we have interesting players that might take the next step, we're not looking for fast and quick solutions. We're looking for the right solutions for the players and for the club long-term. 'Sometimes things move fast, sometimes it takes a little bit longer. That's not always up to us to decide or to control." The transfer saga that has been brewing since Christmas looks set to end before the end of the summer window. The 18-year-old who captained his Motherwell side, earned two Scotland caps and was crowned young player of the year last season has long been linked with a variety of destinations. Earlier in the summer, it looked likely that Parkhead might be the destination in what appeared to be a possible repeat of Motherwell's transfer record for David Turnbull in 2020. Read more: Miller looks set to break that record as the Lanarkshire side are looking for fees eclipsing £4million. However, the longer the summer transfer window goes on, the less likely Glasgow will be his next stop. With Italian clubs taking more notice of the Scottish league after the success of Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour and Lewis Ferguson, Miller could be the next in line for an 'Italian Job'. Como are the most recent team to be linked with the Motherwell skipper. In an interview with BBC Sportsound, Miller's father Lee, the former Aberdeen forward, said: 'I think there will be a bid that comes in, if not this week maybe next week'. On the potential European move he said 'Yeah, potentially… You look at Billy Gilmour, Lewis Ferguson, (Scott) McTominay doing their thing abroad. They are in Italy and Max Johnston has done really well as well (in Austria with Sturm Graz).'

Wythall PE teacher hails ex-student Glasspool for Wimbledon title win
"To think a student from Woodrush High School in Wythall can win at Wimbledon - it's just amazing."PE teacher Joe Maidment is in awe of his former student Lloyd Glasspool, who, alongside his partner Julian Cash, made history on Saturday when they became the first all-British pair to win the men's doubles title at the All England Club for 89 Maidment had travelled to Wimbledon to watch Glasspool, 31, from Redditch, in his second-round match in west London and said his performance throughout the tournament had been "inspirational"."It should be a message to everyone in the West Midlands to follow their dreams and see what they can achieve," he added. 'I played against the champion' Mr Maidment said even as a teenager at the school in Worcestershire, Glasspool had always been "level-headed, quietly determined and confident"."I can now say I've played tennis against a Wimbledon champion. Unfortunately, I did lose 6-0, 6-0, and he was only in year eight at the time."I am so, so pleased for him and everyone involved," Mr Maidment added. He described the title as "the icing on the cake" for the 31-year-old and said after he had now won Wimbledon, Queens and Eastbourne, his former student had secured "the triple crown". Personal thank you Mr Maidments said Glasspool, who is a member of the Warwickshire Lawn Tennis Association, had sent a video message to the school from the courts at SW19 ahead of the school's recent annual sports awards. He added that he also received a personal thank-you message from his former student after Saturday's final."I've come a long way since when we played in year seven or eight and I gave you that little thrashing," Glasspool said to him. "It gave me a nice little confidence boost to go and do great things in the sport."I appreciate the support from you and the whole of the Woodrush School," the men's doubles champion added.
