Snooki reunites with cop who arrested her for being drunk on 'Jersey Shore'
Snooki is taking it back to when the Polizzi met the police.
15 years ago, Jersey Shore star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was arrested for public drunkenness while strolling the titular strand of commercialized New Jersey coastline. Now taking fans back to one of the most sensational moments in reality TV history by reuniting with the cop who arrested her.
"Alright TikTok, it's happening - my anniversary of getting arrested on the beach is coming up this week!" the 37-year-old TV personality proclaimed in a video shared on Monday. In order to drum up buzz for a new line of arrest-themed apparel dropping at her Seaside Heights, N.J. merch store, Polizzi then announced, "I'm also seeing again the cop that arrested me. I haven't seen him since that fateful day where he did arrest me. I haven't seen him since, so it's going to be a little reunion today at the Snooki shop."
On the 2010 episode of the reality series' 3rd season, the motley cast of beach rats descended on the shore, with Polizzi characteristically outdrinking the group, and expectedly, not handling it very well. Polizzi is seen falling over, yelling expletives, and crying out, "Where is beach!" despite walking directly toward it. Before she knew it, she was being arrested by a police officer who'd been contracted by Jersey Shore network MTV to help keep the peace.
She was eventually charged with disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, and criminal annoyance.
"It was just like, 'Alright, she's getting out of hand. If this was anybody else, we would arrest them.' So they had to arrest me. I was nuts,'" she admitted to PEOPLE in a Wednesday interview.
In her first of two TikTok videos chronicling the reunion with Officer Joe Fastige, Polizzi asked her former arresting officer, "That day, what was going through your mind? What did you think when you saw me being disgusting on the beach?"
For the first time, Fastige was able to provide his side of events, which ended up being touchingly sympathetic toward Polizzi. "Not disgusting," he reassured her, "just having a little bit of fun. Too much fun, but that's okay. Honestly, I don't know. I was 21 years old at the time... a baby cop, a year out of the academy, and I was getting paid a little bit of overtime to kind of watch you guys."
Fastige corroborated Polizzi's memory that "a bystander was like, 'We wouldn't allow anyone else to do this right now'... and then I did what I had to do. But it's okay, everyone makes mistakes. Everyone gets a little bit too drink and [forgets] where the beach is, even if the beach is right under your feet," he joked."He was very nice. We did funny little TikToks of reminiscing and reenacting him arresting me. But he's a nice guy," Polizzi told PEOPLE. She also explained that even then, she wouldn't let all the backlash from viewers critical of her behavior on the show get to her: "I never took myself seriously, thank God, so when people talked about me bad or made fun of me, I'm just like, 'Whatever, let me live.'"

A Las Vegas man's search for the truth about his family has returned inconclusive results. Logan Gifford, 26, believes his younger brother, 15, could be his son after claiming his mother Doreene Gifford began sexually assaulting him when he was 10. Doreene Gifford, was sentenced to eight to 20 years in jail after making an Alford plea, essentially a plea of no contest, on lesser charges, including attempted sex assault, 8 News Now reports. She has also registered as a sex offender, while also maintaining her innocence. Logan was 17 at the time. Earlier this year, Logan Glifford filed a paternity case asking for a judge to order an advanced DNA test to determine who the teenager's father is, the outlet reports. That test was inconclusive, however. Logan Glifford said he and his father, Theodore, could both be the teenager's biological father, after their DNA both matched 99.9% to the sibling. At a Thursday hearing, family court Judge Vincent Ochoa said that the test results were unsurprising. 'I think we should have known that was going to come out that way from the very beginning,' Ochoa said, per the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The judge recommended further testing to ascertain who the teenager's father was. The judge also awarded Logan Glifford temporary custody of his brother. A prior temporary guardianship would have expired Thursday, his Attorney Timothy Treffinger, told the Review-Journal. Speaking to the Review-Journal, Logan Gifford said that he would be praying over the issue, but pursuing further testing in order to get 'genetic clarity' for his brother. 'He's aware of what's going on and he understands why we're trying to get to the truth for him,' he said. 'Because this wasn't about me. This was about trying to get genetic answers for him.' A GoFundMe page set up by Gifford to help him win custody and 'protect' his brother, who he currently lives with along with his wife and stepdaughter, has raised almost $2,000. In the page description, Gifford describes the situation as 'a nightmare I never chose' and calls the idea of his brother being his son a 'haunting possibility.' 'The court process is tough, and with his cognitive struggles and our complicated family history, I need help to secure his future and give him the life he deserves,' Gifford wrote. He added that he was 'also speaking out for male survivors everywhere.' 'Growing up, I faced shame, disbelief, and a system that didn't see me—social services missed the signs and left me unprotected. Too many men suffer in silence, and I'm determined to change that,' he said. Despite the previous inconclusiveness, experts have said it is likely that further testing will provide answers for the Giffords. Arthur Beaudet, a past president of the American Society of Human Genetics, said such circumstances would require a higher level of investigation. 'This is a job not for the average lab that does paternity testing and disputes between individuals all the time,' he told the Review-Journal. 'This is a job for a top-notch expert in this area.'

After joking to APP that beer is her drink of choice, Baron quickly changed her answer to ginger ale. "Can't go wrong with that,' she said. Baron also relishes time with family, including her 80-year-old daughter, Bonnie Greenstein, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Greenstein described her mother to APP as "intelligent" and "a talented artist [who] knows what's going on in the world." "She just gets it," Greenstein told the outlet. Shortly before her 100th birthday in 2018, Baron moved into the Applewood Village senior living community, where she is "always the life of the party," according to the residence's executive director, Keith Grady. "She's always been a concerned resident for others, just a real great neighbor to have," he said.
