'Futurama' actor John DiMaggio asks $1.99M for LA home
After more than a decade tucked into a secluded corner of the Studio City hills, Emmy-nominated voice actor John DiMaggio and actress Kate Miller are saying goodbye to their Los Angeles home, The Post has learned.
A striking 1979 modernist residence designed by architect John Bleser, the dwelling is now listed for $1.99 million.
Best known for voicing Bender in the culty cartoon 'Futurama,' DiMaggio called the move 'bittersweet,' adding, 'It's where we've been for a while.'

The couple, both native New Yorkers, moved into the house as a starter home, but it became much more than that.

'We liked it so much. We ended up there for 14 years,' Miller said. 'A comfort zone is a wonderful place, but nothing ever grows there.'
Set against the Verdugo Mountains, the three-story hillside dwelling offers sweeping valley views, open-concept interiors, a regenerating brook and decks. Bleser's Bauhaus-inspired vision remains intact, with carefully preserved original detailing and recent modern updates.

Inside, the couple outfitted the space with work and play in mind.
'During COVID, I recorded a lot of things from home, and it was more of a studio slash office, in the house,' DiMaggio said. 'There's great work space in the house.'
A life-sized replica of Bender — gifted to DiMaggio by the creators of 'Futurama' — currently stands watch inside the studio, a physical reminder of the show's long legacy.
'That's something that I got from 'Futurama' a long time ago that only a couple of people have gotten,' DiMaggio said.

Outside, the property is a haven for wildlife — frequent visits from deer, owls and hawks have added to its peaceful, woodsy charm.
'It's a beautiful special place up there in the hills. And it's a really unique architectural piece of property,' Miller added.
Originally designed with entertainers and creatives in mind, the roughly 3,000-square-foot residence includes a dramatic glass conservatory with double-height windows, two levels of entertaining space, and a private third-story retreat with bedrooms and outdoor lounge areas.

Miller, a veteran of both stage and screen, has appeared in everything from 'Blue Bloods' and 'Hightown' to Broadway productions with Carol Burnett and Michael Sheen. Her voice roles include 'Sealab 2021,' 'Frisky Dingo' and major video games like 'God of War: Ragnarök.'
The couple began dating in 2011.
They also recently went into contract on their Palm Springs home, which they've owned for 11 years. These days, they're spending summers in the Hamptons and continue to maintain a home in Manhattan's West Village.

'John was born in New York and raised in Jersey, so we're East Coast people,' Miller said.
Still, their hillside LA home holds a special place as they are still figuring out where they will permanently settle.

'It's the house we bought when we first got married,' DiMaggio said. 'So there's a lot of nostalgia attached to it.'
As for the life-sized Bender statue that currently resides in DiMaggio's studio? Miller offered one final note — with a laugh — to her husband: 'It will not come in the [new] house.'

The film follows a street vendor who works to rescue his daughter after she is kidnapped by a monster that emerges from the Han River after military waste was dropped into the river. Both an ecological thriller and something even stranger, The Host is a movie that is both focused on the one family's journey and on the broader system that might allow a creature like this to exist in the first place. You can watch The Host on Max. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) Although this isn't the first Invasion of the Body Snatchers, it's almost undoubtedly the best. The film tells the story of a group of people in San Francisco who slowly begin to suspect that everyone around them is being replaced by mindless automatons. Although the movie's story began as a metaphor for communism, it still works even decades later. The movie's ending, one of the more unsettling in the history of movies, is just as tense as the rest of the affair, in which the group is slowly winnowed away as they fight to save their very souls from mindless autonomy. Annihilation (2018) Perhaps the strangest film on this list, Annihilation tells the story of a group of scientists who are recruited to investigate a mysterious biozone known as the Shimmer. As they venture into its depths, they discover the way it has transformed the biology of everything living there. The group learns more about why each of them decided to make such a perilous journey in the first place. The third act of Annihilation is hard to interpret on a purely plot level, but the movie works nonetheless because it has so carefully calibrated the emotional journeys of each of its central characters. You can watch Annihilation on Paramount Plus. No One Will Save You (2023) A more recent addition to this list, No One Will Save You follows a young woman living in isolation in a small town. When an alien invasion descends, she finds herself fighting for her own survival. The central gimmick of No One Will Save You is that the film is almost entirely wordless, which means that it relies heavily on the performance of Kaitlyn Dever, who is more than up to the task. As we learn more about the reasons she's living in isolation, we come to appreciate both the guilt she carries with her and why she ultimately forms something of a unique relationship with the alien invaders. Ready Or Not (2019) One of the great thrillers of the past 10 years, Ready or Not tells the story of a young woman who marries into a wealthy family, only to discover that they have a ritual in which they play a board game every time someone joins the family. As she finds herself fighting for her own life against a family determined to hunt her down, she begins to realize that marrying rich might not be all it's cracked up to be. Apple gets much-needed win as 'F1' speeds to big opening weekend
Apple's Formula One-inspired film went full-throttle this weekend at the domestic box office. " F1" has earned over $55 million domestically since debuting in theaters on Friday, according to Warner Bros. The sports drama, starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, managed to beat out Universal Pictures' live-action remake of " How to Train Your Dragon" and Disney's " Elio" to place first at the box office. Overseas, "F1" raked in over $88 million for a total of $144 million globally. This weekend's numbers are a victory for Apple, which heavily promoted the film and its stars ahead of the premiere. iPhone users received a notification offering discounted tickets, could use Apple Maps to view the race tracks where the crew filmed, and gained access to a special version of the trailer that activated the iPhone's haptics to match the vehicle's engines onscreen. Idris briefly donned a F1 driver uniform at the 2025 Met Gala in May, while Pitt made a surprise appearance at a New York City-based Apple store this month. While Apple is one of the world's most influential tech giants, original film production is a newer division for the company, meaning it's still catching up to major studios like Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, and Walt Disney Studios. Films like "Killer of the Flower Moon" in 2023 helped bolster the studio's clout but haven't done much for its bottom line. Apple's streaming service, meanwhile, has also had some hits recently with Seth Rogen's "The Studio" and the dystopian workplace drama "Severance." It still lags far behind streamers like Netflix, however. Business Insider's Peter Kafka has wondered aloud about Apple's long-term strategy for its theatrical releases. Is it an expensive marketing play that could ultimately bolster its core business: iPhones? Or is this an effort to diversify as iPhone sales plateau? Or something else entirely? Apple's latest film came after its annual Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this month. Although the company unveiled its new "Liquid Glass" software, Wall Street analysts were left underwhelmed that no "killer" AI feature was offered. After the lackluster conference, the success of "F1" will likely come as a relief to Apple insiders. "I know there's a lot of different views out there about why we're into it," Apple CEO Tim Cook told Variety earlier this month, referencing the company's movie business. "We're into it to tell great stories, and we want it to be a great business as well. That's why we're into it, just plain and simple."
