'Futurama' actor John DiMaggio asks $1.99M for LA home

After more than a decade tucked into a secluded corner of the Studio City hills, Emmy-nominated voice actor John DiMaggio and actress Kate Miller are saying goodbye to their Los Angeles home, The Post has learned. A striking 1979 modernist residence designed by architect John Bleser, the dwelling is now listed for $1.99 million. Best known for voicing Bender in the culty cartoon 'Futurama,' DiMaggio called the move 'bittersweet,' adding, 'It's where we've been for a while.' Set against the Verdugo Mountains, the three-story hillside dwelling offers sweeping valley views, open-concept interiors, a regenerating brook and decks. Bleser's Bauhaus-inspired vision remains intact, with carefully preserved original detailing and recent modern updates. 13 John DiMaggio with a figure of his Bender character. 'During COVID, I recorded a lot of things from home, and it was more of a studio slash office, in the house,' DiMaggio said. 'There's great work space in the house.' A life-sized replica of Bender — gifted to DiMaggio by the creators of 'Futurama' — currently stands watch inside the studio, a physical reminder of the show's long legacy. 'That's something that I got from 'Futurama' a long time ago that only a couple of people have gotten,' DiMaggio said. 'It's a beautiful special place up there in the hills. And it's a really unique architectural piece of property,' Miller added. Originally designed with entertainers and creatives in mind, the roughly 3,000-square-foot residence includes a dramatic glass conservatory with double-height windows, two levels of entertaining space, and a private third-story retreat with bedrooms and outdoor lounge areas. 13 The home occupies roughly 3,000 square feet. They also recently went into contract on their Palm Springs home, which they've owned for 11 years. Still, their hillside LA home holds a special place as they are still figuring out where they will permanently settle. As for the life-sized Bender statue that currently resides in DiMaggio's studio? Miller offered one final note — with a laugh — to her husband: 'It will not come in the [new] house.'

Renault CEO Luca de Meo unexpectedly resigns, heading to Kering

Two "Car of the Year" trophies and then he's gone! For two years in a row, Renault, under Luca de Meo's leadership, won the prestigious European award. A triumph, and then... crash. On Thursday, June 12, the chief executive informed Renault's chairman, Jean-Dominique Senard, of his intention to leave the group. The news of his departure, kept secret for a few days, was made public by the automaker on the evening of June 15, along with his departure date: July 15. De Meo is expected to join the luxury group Kering, according to Le Figaro. The company, controlled by the Pinault family, was caught off guard and did not confirm the news Sunday evening. But it is already an open secret. At 58, de Meo, who spent more than 30 years in the automotive industry and turned around the Fiat and Seat brands before leading Renault, is changing course and switching sectors entirely, an unexpected and unusual move. Within Renault's senior management, the announcement provoked a shock, followed by some disappointment. On Thursday, de Meo had presented the main outlines of his "Futurama" plan to the board's strategic committee. This plan sets out the company's strategy for the next five years, covering future vehicle models as well as diversification strategies, particularly in the defense industry. No sooner had it been presented than it was abandoned by the very person who was supposed to implement it. It was a bombshell for some board members, who are now left doubtful. When the Paris stock exchange opened on June 16, Renault shares were down nearly 6%, while Kering shares rose more than 7%.

Clash of Clans animated series coming to Netflix from Futurama writer and Supercell director

Netflix has officially ordered a new animated series based on Supercell's hit mobile games Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, according to Variety. Titled Clash, the series is currently in pre-production. The series follows a determined yet inexperienced Barbarian who must unite a band of unlikely heroes to defend their village, all while navigating the absurd and comical politics of war. Set in the expansive and humorous universe shared by the two games, Clash aims to bring the franchise's fan-favorite characters and whimsical battles to life. Originally released in 2012 and 2016 respectively, Clash of Clans and Clash Royale have remained wildly popular. Together, they have been downloaded more than four billion times, with players logging over 180 billion hours of gameplay. Fletcher Moules, who previously directed Clash of Clans animated videos for YouTube—amassing hundreds of millions of views—will serve as showrunner. Ron Weiner, known for his work on Futurama and Arrested Development, joins the team as head writer. Animation for the series will be produced by ICON Creative Studio. This order adds to Netflix's growing list of animated projects. The streamer recently announced Mating Season, an adult animated comedy from the creators of Big Mouth, which is nearing its eighth and final season. Netflix is also preparing to launch Long Story Short, a new series from BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg, featuring voice talents such as Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, and Nicole Byer. That show is set to premiere on August 22.
