This speedy veteran WR is making waves during first week of Chiefs Training Camp
Among the most exciting wideouts competing for a spot on the Chiefs' 53-man roster in St. Joseph is veteran pass-catcher Tyquan Thornton. A former Baylor Bear, Thornton's blazing speed enticed the New England Patriots to select him with the No. 50 pick in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft.
Thornton has started making waves at training camp practices and was seen hauling in a pass from Patrick Mahomes on Thursday, July 24, in this video, which was posted to Twitter by Harold R. Kuntz of FOX4 News:
While Thornton is expected to face headwinds in his effort to earn a role in Andy Reid's first or second-team offense, impressive plays like this will ingratiate him with Mahomes and Kansas City's coaching staff.
Stay tuned to see if Thornton will continue to impress at Chiefs Training Camp in the coming weeks.

New York Giants training camp: 6 takeaways from Day 4
The New York Giants battled poor air quality and overcast skies on Sunday morning on Day 4 of their 2025 training camp. Regardless, they held practice outdoors. Here are some takeaways from Sunday's workout. Wilson is opening up the offense The Giants have been one of the NFL's least potent offenses the past two seasons. They signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, the NFL's most proficient deep thrower last year, to get their passing game back on track. It looks as if he's doing that after just one week. Wilson is going up top to all of his receivers these days, and his "moonball" has never looked better. "He looks 25 again" Not to make this all about Wilson, but he appears to be just what this sagging Giants offense needs. Not only is he reenergizing the passing game, but the 36-year-old is making plays with his legs, too. Holland the pirate Wilson didn't have his way with the Giants' secondary all day. They got their shots in as well. On this play, slot corner Dru Phillips deflects a Wilson pass into the hands of safety Jevon Holland, who returns it for a touchdown. The Giants' goal on defense this year is to focus on ball-hawking. So far, so good. Skattebo is gaining in popularity Looking for a player to root for this season? Look no further than rookie running back Cam Skattebo. He is a high-energy player who is already making his mark with the Giants as both a rusher and a receiver. The fans in attendance at camp are already taking to him. Abdul Carter is a menace The first full padded practice isn't until Monday, so we won't know exactly how good rookie linebacker Abdul Carter is. So far, he's been blowing by everyone. If he continues to do that when the hitting starts, the Giants have a monster in their midst. Dart's best day yet The Giants' other first-round pick, quarterback Jaxson Dart, is also heating up. On Sunday, he looked comfortable and in charge, hitting on several deep throws. This article originally appeared on Giants Wire: Giants training camp: 6 takeaways from Day 4

NFL analyst reveals crucial battles defining Bears' 53-man roster
Chicago Bears camp battles are shaping the projected 53-man roster as the team prepares for its first padded training camp practice on Monday. As the players enjoy an off day today, let's look at some key position battles Chicago Sun-Times analyst Patrick Finley has projected. Here, we will focus specifically on quarterback, running back and wide receiver. According to Finley, the Bears are expected to carry three players at quarterback: starter Caleb Williams, Tyson Bagent and veteran Case Keenum. The competition will be for the No. 2 spot. Finley noted, "The battle for the No. 2 job between Bagent and Keenum, who have rotated during camp. Bagent has believers in the Bears' front office, and the Bears are sure to keep Keenum to help guide Williams." Per Finley, the running back group could see an uncommon roster decision if rookie draft pick Kyle Monangai's strong camp convinces the team to carry four running backs. "With a strong training camp, can Monangai coax the Bears into keeping four running backs? Swift is the starter, Johnson the short yardage back, and Homer the special teams ace," Finley wrote. "Ben Johnson's Lions kept four running backs last season." The wide receiver battle centers on the kickoff return job, according to Finley. He said, "Who returns kickoffs? Devin Duvernay and Tyler Scott are fighting for the job, with the winner perhaps cementing their roster spot. The new kickoff rules mean that a successful kick return unit could yield big results." In the weeks ahead, Ben Johnson and Co. will have a clearer view of who can secure a spot on the team's 53-man roster. Some surprises are expected as the Bears look to begin a new era under their new head coach.

Texans DB Jalen Pitre, LB Christian Harris miss consecutive training camp practices
Two starters for the Houston Texans' defense missed practice back-to-back days, but for one player, it's not much of a concern. For the other? Time could be pressing if he plans on securing a starting job for the upcoming season amid a contract year. Nickel defender Jalen Pitre and linebacker Christian Harris missed Saturday's practice, though both were in attendance among the fans and greeted folks after drills. For Pitre, Saturday marked the second consecutive practice missed with an undisclosed injury. For Harris, he's yet to see action in any practice because of a lower-body injury that hindered his playing time last year. Despite being cleared from starting the season on the PUP list, Harris hasn't taken snaps during teams drills. Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said that Pitre, like all players, would be on their "own timeline" regarding a return. For Pitre, he's not expected to miss much time and could be back at practice by Monday morning. Pitre, who inked a three-year, $42 million extension this offseason, was having a career year after moving to the nickel from safety in 2024 before a chest injury cut his season short. In the early stages of training camp, he's impressed in coverage, picking off C.J. Stroud on the second day of practice for a return for a touchdown. "He's been a guy who's been very consistent for us, no matter where we've put him or what we've asked him to do. He's just my type of player," Ryans said. "He's all over the field, always up for the challenge. Whatever the down is, he's going to be around the football and making plays and it was evident today.' Harris, who enters the final year of his rookie deal, hopes to return to his 2023 form. When Ryans arrived from San Francisco, no one benefitted more than Harris, who notched 101 tackles, two sacks, three forced fumbles and a pick-six in the wild-card round victory over the Cleveland Browns. With both Henry To'oTo'o and E.J. Speed seeing extended time in the starting lineup, every practice missed for Harris could inch closer to him finding a new home in 2026.
