It's official: London is home to one of the most beautiful outdoor cinemas in the world
Okay, outdoor cinemas are nothing new. In fact, they've been around for decades, but given the weather in this country they remain a novelty when they pop up every summer. There's loads of great outdoor movie screenings across London, but one in particular has just been named one of the most gorgeous open-air cinemas in the world by us at Time Out.
Our credentials? We know film – you can find our recent reviews here – and we know even more about what makes for a great night out. Our editors have ventured across the world, so they're pretty qualified when it comes to anything travel related. They've specially curated a list of the planet's most beautiful outdoor screens, and yes, they've visited them all first-hand.
London is one of only three UK entries on the list, but it's only natural that there's going to be more venues based outside in countries where it doesn't rain nine months out of the year. In 15th place was the Rooftop Film Club in Peckham, which won't surprise anyone who's ever visited. Where else can you enjoy the sunset over London whilst you and 160 other cinephiles watch a classic movie together? In the words of Time Out's film editor Phil de Semlyen, it's 'a CinemaScope-like experience'.
The rooftop venue is blessed with a stunning view, but it's also stocked up with deckchairs, blankets, snacks, and a brilliant summer programme that ranges from Twilight to Pulp Fiction to Inception to the Women's Euros final. Talk about something for everyone. You can book a single deck chair or a loveseat for two, and you can even add popcorn onto your ticket to ensure you have a perfect evening.
Top spot was awarded to WestPac OpenAir in Sydney, which is smack bang in the middle of the city's harbour. We just can't compete with the Sydney Opera House in the gorgeous Aussie weather over here, and we're pretty okay with that.

Lionesses star Lauren Hemp presented with bus named after her in Norfolk hometown of North Walsham
Hundreds of fans serenaded Lioness Lauren Hemp with a rendition of Happy Birthday to give her a homecoming to remember. The winger, a key member of England's double Euros-winning team, was returning to North Walsham in Norfolk, where she grew up, as a local bus company named a vehicle after her. She was the overwhelming choice in a public competition to name the new bus, even before her starring role in the Lionesses' Euro2025 victory, said Charles Sanders of Sanders Coaches. Hemp cut the ribbon and was presented with a Lego kit of a double-decker bus in recognition of her favourite hobby away from the football pitch, which she documented on social media throughout the tournament. "Coming here and seeing so many people here is just unbelievable," she told ITV News Anglia. "It's so nice to see my home town supporting me as much as this. "It's only when you come back that you realise how much of a difference it's made." Two days before her 25th birthday, the crowd was encouraged to sing Happy Birthday to Hemp, and she was presented with gifts from the crowd after being introduced by North Walsham's town crier. Reflecting on the tournament win, Hemp said she was relieved that her team-mates managed to win the shoot-out before she was due to take a penalty. "Standing there in the penalty shoot-out was very nerve-racking. We managed to get the job done before I had to take a penalty, so that was a bonus. "After that long six weeks of preparing for it, it finally made the difference and we were able to lift the trophy."

'I dislike red jerseys, so blue felt perfect'
We know the relationship between a football fan and their club is a special one so, as we gear up for the new season, we asked you to share why you fell in love with Chelsea and some of your favourite moments supporting are some of your submissions: Rajeev: Being Indian, I've always loved packed stadiums - whether it is cricket, rugby or football. I only watched the World Cups and the Euros until 2006. Then, thanks to my Arsenal fan friend and my Manchester United-supporting brother, I got hooked on the Premier League. That season the top four were Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and stood out - they were second place and I've always liked teams chasing the top spot. I also dislike red jerseys, so blue felt perfect. I was amazed to see so many national captains at Chelsea. That's when I knew this was my club. Send your pictures and stories here

The best restaurant in Britain has been crowned for 2025 – and it's just one hour from London
When it comes to the best restaurants in Britain, there are all sorts of guides and people telling you which ones to visit. You've got the World's 50 Best, the prestigious Michelin Guide, and countless TikTokkers recommending 'hidden gems' and 'best kept secrets' (until said restos get spoiled by overcrowding). And of course, we at Time Out have our own meticulously researched list of the London's top eateries, which you can read here. If you could possibly need any more inspiration, a new ranking has named the best restaurant in the UK, and said resto is only one hour outside of the capital. Caldesi in Campagna, an Italian restaurant in Bray, Berkshire specialising in Tuscan cuisine, has been crowned Britain's best place to dine in the annual Muddy Stilettos awards. Every year, the lifestyle guide names 'the best of' businesses in the UK, including pubs, bars, shops, cafés, hotels and more. This year's winners, selected by a team of Muddy Stilettos editors, have just been revealed. The Italian joint in the top spot is part of a small chain owned by celebrity chef Giancarlo Caldesi. He also owns Caldesi in Marylebone and cookery schools in London and Berkshire. Opened in 2007, favourites on the menu at Caldesi in Campagna include pappardelle with beef and pork ragu, courgette flower carpaccio and Italian style doughnuts. The spot is also known as being a favourite haunt of the former PM Theresa May. Make of that what you will. Runner's up for the UK's best restaurant in this year's Muddy Awards were Alfredo's in Somerset, Linden Stores in Cheshire, The Greyhound in Buckinghamshire and The Tasting Club in Derbyshire. Time Out's guide to the best Italian restaurants in London.
