BBC regrets not stopping Glastonbury live stream
"The team were dealing with a live situation but with hindsight we should have pulled the stream during the performance," the BBC said in a statement. "We regret this did not happen."
Rapper Bobby Vylan on Saturday UK time led crowds on the festival's West Holts Stage in chants of "Free, free Palestine" and "Death, death to the IDF (Israel Defence Forces)".
Following the performance, Prime Minister Keir Starmer criticised the chants as "appalling hate speech" and broadcasting regulator Ofcom said it is "very concerned" about the live stream.
The BBC, which issued a warning on screen during the live stream, called Bobby Vylan's comments "deeply offensive".
"The BBC respects freedom of expression but stands firmly against incitement to violence," its statement said, adding that it would look at its guidance around live events.
Ofcom said in its statement that the BBC "clearly has questions to answer", adding: "We have been speaking to the BBC over the weekend and we are obtaining further information as a matter of urgency, including what procedures were in place to ensure compliance with its own editorial guidelines."
The UK rap punk duo has released four albums addressing issues to do with racism, masculinity and class.
Bobby Vylan's real name is Pascal Robinson-Foster, 34, according to reports.
"Teaching our children to speak up for the change they want and need is the only way that we make this world a better place," he said in a statement posted to Instagram.
"As we grow older and our fire starts to possibly dim under the suffocation of adult life and all its responsibilities, it is incredibly important that we encourage and inspire future generations to pick up the torch that was passed to us."
The BBC says it regrets not pulling the live stream of Bob Vylan's Glastonbury performance, and the group's comments were "anti-Semitic" and "utterly unacceptable".

'You did my first facelift in 2011 … 14 years ago!!! and made it the most amazing experience ever and even gave us access to film so that others could get a peek inside what it's like and not be afraid,' the reality TV star divulged. The momager added, 'You have taken great care of us always and remain such a close and treasured friend!! Such an incredible talent!!️' Fans are loving Kris' makeover so much that they're saying she resembles her supermodel daughter Kendall, 29. Also in June, Honestly Cavallari star Kristin Cavallari, 38, took to an Instagram Stories Q&A to share her breast augmentation specs after a fan asked 'What size did you get?' and called her their 'boob-spiration.' Kylie Jenner takes huge step in Timothée Chalamet relationship
Kylie Jenner has taken a huge step in her relationship with Timothée Chalamet - by following him on Instagram. The 27-year-old businesswoman boasts 393 million followers on the photo-sharing site, but she is quite choosy about who she follows - with only 119 profiles making the cut. However, one of those is now her boyfriend of two years. Fans of TyMothée - the pair's most popular ship name - have been driven into a frenzy after spotting Kylie has allowed the A Complete Unknown actor into her close social circle. However, at the time of writing, the follow is yet to be reciprocated. The 29-year-old actor has 19.7 million Instagram followers, and has only shared 147 posts, compared with Kylie's whopping 7,244 posts. But the Kardashians star shouldn't feel hard-done-by by her boyfriend's social snub - because he doesn't follow anybody on Instagram. That's including his ex-girlfriend Eiza Gonzalez, who recently admitted she is "obsessed" by his new romance with reality star Kylie. During an appearance in Cosmopolitan magazine's online video series Cheap Shots, Eiza explained: "They look so cute together. They look so in love and so cute, I'm obsessed with them, and I love Timmy." She added of the Dune star: "I think he's the most talented, sweetest - honestly, sweetest boy - and I'm just so proud to see him thriving and doing great in his career, and we're just good friends. "I have nothing but amazing things to say about him." Chalamet has been romancing Kylie - who is mom to Stormi, seven, and three-year-old Aire with ex-boyfriend Travis Scott - since April 2023, and their relationship has won the seal of approval from Timothee's mother Nicole Flender. The real estate agent told Curbed: 'I have to say she's lovely. She's very nice to me.'
