Kelley Mack Dies: ‘Walking Dead' Actress Was 33

Actress and voiceover artist Kelley Mack, best known for her role as Addy on The Walking Dead, has died at age 33. The family of the actress shared the news on Mack's official Instagram page on August 5. 'It is with indelible sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dear Kelley. Such a bright, fervent light has transitioned to the beyond, where we all eventually must go,' the post read. 'Kelley passed peacefully on Saturday evening with her loving mother Kristen and steadfast aunt Karen present. Kelley has already come to many of her loved ones in the form of various butterflies . She will be missed by so many to depths that words cannot express.' Last winter, Kelley revealed that she was undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. In January, she wrote in a post: 'In September, I moved into a new apartment with my boyfriend, Logan. For a month after that, I had persistent lower back pain and thought I slipped a disc. A few weeks later, I had neuropathic itching in my right quad. And then, the shooting pains in my legs and back began, which resulted in me having to sleep in a recliner for a month because laying down was too painful. On Thanksgiving Eve, I had emergency MRIs done at the hospital, which revealed an abnormal mass in my spinal cord.' 'Fast forward to now – I have been diagnosed with #diffusemidlineglioma, an extremely rare type of #astrocytoma #cancer. Due to the biopsy surgery on my spinal cord, I have lost the use of my right leg and most of my left leg, so I now get around with a walker and a wheelchair.' She kept fans updated on her treatment and recovery via social media. Friends, fans, and family took to social media to pay tribute to the young actress, including those who worked with her on The Walking Dead and its various franchises. Filmmaker Michael E Satrazemis wrote on her Instagram page, 'I was lucky enough to create with Kelley on TWD. A bright light on every level. All my love to those who love her.' Gustavo Gomez, who played Marco on TWD, wrote,'This is heartbreaking. I feel so lucky that our paths crossed. Your bright light will always shine on ' Actor Anthony Michael Lopez, who portrayed Oscar on the AMC show, posted, 'My deepest condolences, Kelley was such a sweet and happy soul and I'm happy to have met her. She fought so hard. Sending her and your family lots of light and love. Rest easy Kelley.' Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to a businessman and a real estate agent, Mack had her first film role in The Elephant Garden, for which she won an award from the Tisch School of the Arts. Her other television roles included 9-1-1 and Chicago Med, as well as the podcast The College Tapes. Her most recent project was a horror comedy titled Delicate Arch. She is survived by her two siblings, including actor Parker Mack. Solve the daily Crossword

Iconic Filmmaker Tim Burton Makes Surprising Personal Admission About Lady Gaga

Iconic Filmmaker Tim Burton Makes Surprising Personal Admission About Lady Gaga originally appeared on Parade. Tim Burton is opening up about his experience working with Lady Gaga. During a Q&A session at Italy's Giffoni Film Festival earlier on Friday, the legendary filmmaker spoke about collaborating with the pop icon on the upcoming season of Wednesday, as well as teased he was working on 'something else' with her. "Honestly, she's an amazing artist. I just worked with her onWednesday a little bit, and done something else with her," Burton admitted. "She just an inspiring artist and I feel very connected to her. Just for me, it's exciting to work with an artist I respect and admire." The 'Abracadabra' singer is set to appear in Season 2 of Burton's hit Netflix TV series Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega. Gaga will be playing Rosaline Rotwood, a Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday Addams (Ortega). Known for his work that often blends fantasy and horror, the 66-year-old filmmaker rose to prominence with his movies such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and the Batman (1989). His unique storytelling and visual flair have made him a fan favorite, with other successes including The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Big Fish and Alice in Wonderland. Though Lady Gaga is mostly known as a singer, she has multiple acting credits under her belt. She made her TV debut in American Horror Story: Hotel, winning a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Television Movie, as well as earned critical acclaim for her lead role in the 2018 film A Star is Born, which garnered her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. She later starred in House of Gucci alongside Adam Driver and Joker: Folie à Deux, further proving her versatility on screen. Currently, the artist is on her eighth concert tour The Mayhem Ball, in support of her 2025 album, Mayhem. "I'm not a musician, I'm not a music person, but she's a real artist and that was very inspiring to me," Burton concluded. Fans can stream the first part of Season 2 of Wednesday on Netflix starting on August 6. My Favorite Part of ‘The Hunting Wives'? The Women's Deceptive Southern-Sweetheart Style

This story contains spoilers for Season 1 of Netflix's The Hunting Wives. I will obviously watch any show with even a hint of girl-meets-girl intrigue (not for nothing did I struggle through the entirety of The L Word: Generation Q), but I've been pleasantly surprised by the murderous-Republican-bisexual antics in The Hunting Wives, Netflix's new drama based on the novel by May Cobb. Not only do Brittany Snow's shy, troubled, East Coast lib Sophie and Malin Akerman's small-town Texas bad girl and aspiring politician's wife Margo have genuine sexual chemistry (who would have expected Sophie to be the top?), but the story—about the murder of a football star's cheerleader girlfriend in a wealthy East Texas community—has me obsessed in a way that I haven't been since I turned the final page of my last Gillian Flynn novel. Photo: Kent Smith Obviously, the whodunit aspect of the show—which is sort of like a cross between Duck Dynasty and Sharp Objects—is its main hook. But ever since I started watching The Hunting Wives, I've been equally compelled by something else: the way its women dress (or, more crucially, don't). When we first meet Margo in the bathroom of an NRA fundraiser, she's shimmying her way out of a shimmering green mermaid gown, peacocking in Sophie's direction with the old, 'Hon, do you mind zippin' me up?' trick. (From there, it's a hop, skip, and a jump to Sophie and Margo sharing a Xanax, and then a whole lot more.) She's the ringleader of a clique of gun-toting, loudly God-fearing, privately party-hopping, good ol' Texas girls who are as skinny, straight-coded, and (with one exception) white as you might imagine, and while one of them—Scandal star Katie Lowes as perfect-as-pie preacher's wife Jill—dresses more or less exactly like Helen Lovejoy from The Simpsons, in buttoned-up florals and floor-swishing skirts, the rest bedeck themselves in Vegas-ready animal prints and cleavage-baring cuts that make them seem ready to celebrate Trump's second presidential win at the drop of a hat. (I did actually live in Texas for about a year and a half, but I was in bluer-than-blue Austin, so for all I know, maybe it's normal to go hyperfemme while hunting boar.)
