Watch: Washington woman breaks record with 4,060 jigsaw puzzles
Liza Fireman, 46, of Bellevue, told Guinness World Records she started collecting puzzles in 2019, and she has since accumulated thousands of designs, mostly from her favorite manufacturer, Ravensburger.
"I didn't set out to break the world record, I just fell in love with puzzling," Fireman said. "But not just any puzzles -- Ravensburger puzzles. I love their quality, their design, the history of puzzles. It just became a passion."
Fireman's 4,060-strong collection was enough to take the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of jigsaw puzzles from John Walczak, whose collection was tallied at 2,022 in 2023.
Her collection includes numerous Disney puzzles, as well as puzzles based the TV series Friends, the James Bond film franchise, Hello Kitty and the movie Wicked.
"If I kept all of the puzzles I did in a year, I could easily carpet my house with puzzles," she said.

Stephen Colbert announces 'Late Show' end as CBS blames finances

File Photo by Chris Chew. | License Photo July 17 (UPI) -- Stephen Colbert announced at the taping of Thursday's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that the show will end after the 2025-26 season. Colbert said he found out last night. "The network will be ending The Late Show in May," Colbert says in a video shared to his Colbertlateshow and Stephenathome Instagrams. As the audience booed, Colbert agreed, "Yeah, I share your feelings. It's not just the end of our show but it's the end of The Late Show on CBS. I am not being replaced. This is all just going away." Colbert took over The Late Show in 2015 after David Letterman, who launched the show in 1993. In a statement Thursday, Paramount Global Co-CEO and CBS President and CEO George Cheeks, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios President David Stapf blamed the financial challenges of late night. "We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire The Late Show franchise," the statement read. "This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount." In the clip, Colbert thanked CBS for being "great partners," as well as the audience and his band. He lamented the end of the talk show. "It is a fantastic job," Colbert said. "I wish somebody else was getting it. It's a job that I'm looking forward to doing with this usual gang of idiots for the next 10 months." The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EDT on CBS.

Ariana Grande denies rumors she's leaving music
Ariana Grande is setting the record straight, reassuring fans that her music career is far from over. Earlier this week, Grande announced that she and actor Josh Gad will star in "Wicked" director Jon M. Chu's forthcoming adaptation of the classic Dr. Seuss children's book "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" She shared a photo of the two together in a recording studio, holding binders with their scripts over their faces via Instagram Tuesday. "🧚🏻 Oh, the Places You'll Go ! 💭," she wrote in the caption at the time. A short while later, Grande, who recently starred in "Wicked" alongside Cynthia Erivo and is set to appear in "Wicked: For Good" later this year, reassured her fans that she wasn't abandoning music, despite being busy with other projects. "very silly of you all to assume that just because i have my hands full with many things that i plan to abandon singing & music … !!!" she wrote in an Instagram post Wednesday. "it is and has always been my lifeline. there will need to be room made for all of it. 🧚🏼♂️." She also expressed excitement and gratitude for her diverse pursuits, while also hinting at her musical plans for next year. "it may not look exactly like it did before but i much prefer how it looks in my head," she continued. "i am having fun. i feel grateful and excited and inspired. :) finding a balance, between many projects and endeavors i love, and doing it my own way."
