Fearing air strikes by India, Pakistan moves radar systems along border

India Today29-04-2025
Pakistan seems to be losing sleep over a possible retaliation by India following the Pahalgam terror attack and has taken several steps along the Line of Control (LoC) to detect possible manoeuvres by the Army.As per exclusive information received by India Today, the Pakistani army is moving its radar systems to forward locations in the Sialkot sector to detect possible Indian airstrikes. Electronic warfare detachments of the Pakistani army are also being deployed to forward locations to detect Indian movements opposite the Ferozepur sector. advertisementRecently, Pakistan set up a TPS-77 radar site at Chor Cantonment, just 58 km from the international border. The TPS-77 Multi-Role Radar (MRR) is a highly capable radar system and is used worldwide for situational awareness and air traffic monitoring.
Meanwhile, for the fifth consecutive day, Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control. The Pakistani army started firing without any provocation in the Kupwara, Baramulla and Akhnoor sectors, with the Indian Army giving a befitting reply.'MILITARY STRIKE IMMINENT'The April 22 carnage in the scenic Baisaran meadow, popular as 'mini Switzerland', by Pakistan-based terrorists left 26 dead and several injured. The attack was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy terror group of the Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).With Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowing to "identify, track and punish" every terrorist and their backers, Pakistan is wary of a counteroffensive.advertisementLast week, India's frontline fighter jets, including its Rafales, and its top pilots took part in a large-scale military exercise, named Aakraman (attack), and the Navy demonstrated its operational readiness.Amid heightened tensions, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircraft were seen departing from Karachi for bases near Lahore and Rawalpindi in the north, screenshots posted on X from flight tracking website Flightradar24 showed. On Monday, a rattled Pakistani Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, said an Indian military strike was imminent. "We have reinforced our forces because it is something which is imminent now... Pakistan is on high alert, and it would only use its arsenal of nuclear weapons if there is a direct threat to our existence," Asif told Reuters. Moreover, intelligence sources told India Today that the Pakistani army had begun vacating several terror launch pads across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and were shifting terrorists to army shelters and bunkers.Tune InMust Watch

DMK has failed in its duty and surrendered to the BJP: Vijay

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay on Monday said if the ruling DMK had ensured appropriate honour for the Chola kings, the BJP-led Central government, which was acting against the interest of Tamils, would not have taken it up now. In a statement, he said the Centre had sidelined Tamil Nadu, but now Prime Minister Narendra Modi was announcing statues for Chola kings and 'taking lessons' from the Chola dynasty. The DMK has failed in its duty and surrendered to the BJP and has pledged the pride of Tamils to the national party, he added. Mr. Vijay alleged that the BJP-led Centre, which was trying to bury history by hiding the Keeladi findings, was now talking about the Cholas, which is a mere act and the DMK had fallen for it. According to him, the DMK and the BJP are on the same team behind closed doors, and they should be labelled as 'deceivers'. He added that the people would not fall prey to what he called 'a drama for political mileage'.

In a big relief for Indian nurse Nimisha Priya, her death sentence by Yemeni authorities on charges of murder has been overturned, according to the office of Indian Grand Mufti Kanthapuram AP Abubakker Muslaiyar, reported news agency ANI. Nimisha Priya was sentenced to death in Yemen for alleged murder of her ex-business partner. (Sourced) This comes after her execution, which was originally scheduled to happen on July 16, was halted temporarily just a day earlier, after Grand Mufti AP Abubakker Muslaiyar intervened and requested Yemeni authorities to reconsider. Now, his office says, that her death sentence has been cancelled completely following a high-level meeting in Yemeni capital Sanaa. 'The death sentence of Nimisha Priya, which was previously suspended, has been overturned. A high-level meeting held in Sanaa decided to completely cancel the death sentence that was temporarily suspended earlier,' ANI quoted his office as saying. Priya's family, including her 13-year-old daughter Mishel and her husband Thomas, reached Yemen to join Indian Christian evangelist KA Paul to appeal Houthi authorities to release Priya. In a video, shared by news agency PTI, Mishel can be heard saying 'I love you, mamma,' as she speaks in Malayalam and English. Her speech is not legible.

"Rahul-Occupied Congress": BJP's Anurag Thakur's Sharp Attack In Lok Sabha

New Delhi: BJP MP Anurag Thakur on Monday launched a scathing attack on Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi during a debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, claiming India fought a "two-and-a-half front war" with the "half front" being the "Rahul-Occupied Congress." "India fought on two and a half fronts, everyone knows about the two fronts, but in this half front, there is also a Rahul Occupied Congress," Anurag Thakur said, adding, "Look at the social media, in the last two months, Rahul Occupied Congress has made disgusting and insulting cartoons against the Prime Minister and the Indian Occupied Congress called the Army chief a roadside goon. Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the entire country and the Indian Army..." Anurag Thakur went on to target Rahul Gandhi personally, calling him the "poster boy" of Pakistani propaganda. "Let me tell you, the leader you talk about, twice the people of the country did not even give him enough votes to become the leader of the opposition... He has become LoB from LoP (Leader of Opposition). LoB stands for Leader Opposing Bharat. Opposing India and the Prime Minister is his agenda. I don't know whether he becomes the poster boy of Congress or not, but he has become the poster boy of Pakistan's propaganda", he said. While referring to Congress MP P Chidambaram's recent remarks on Operation Sindoor, Anurag Thakur accused the party of questioning India's intelligence inputs. "Today, discussion on Operation Sindoor was to take place in the House, but there was a competition among the leaders of Congress as to who should come forward as the closest friend and dearest to Pakistan. In the interview given by a former Home Minister yesterday, he said- If Pakistan did not have a hand in this, how can you say that the terrorists came from Pakistan?... Sometimes they call it Hindu terrorism, sometimes they come to defend Pakistan," he said. The former Union Minister also accused the Congress of aligning with Pakistan's interests, saying, "There are so many big advocates of Pakistan in the Congress party today that Pakistan defends itself later, and Congress leaders come to defend them. The Pakistani army and the Pakistani government are using the brothers of Lashkar-e-Rahul in their favour... Although it is INC, but from their statements and actions, it looks like it has become Islamabad National Congress..." Anurag Thakur also criticized the Opposition for their response to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's statement in the House. "Of all the opposition MPs who have spoken here till now, not even one MP has stood up and said that in this terrorist attack, people were asked about his religion and asked to recite Kalma, their pants were removed and then they were killed. Tell me what pain did the Opposition MPs have in saying this? When the Defence Minister was discussing the achievements of the Indian Army, there was no applause, no one was thumping the table..." he said. The Lok Sabha on Monday afternoon began discussion on 'India's strong, successful and decisive Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The debate was initiated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
