Pakistani man sought over molestation and sodomisation of 4 boys
Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the suspect's name was Muhammad Hassan, 25, who is jobless and was last known to stay at the Taman Bunga Negara flats in Section 27, Shah Alam.
He said the incident took place in Section 27 and 28, Shah Alam, and the victims were aged 9, 13, 14 and 19.
He said four police reports had been lodged since April.
"All the incidents were believed to have been committed by the same person. The modus operandi of the suspect involved initially asking the victims for help before taking them to a secluded area where he would sodomise or moleste them," he said in a statement.
Iqbal said four investigation papers had been opened, of which two are under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which provides for a prison sentence of not more than 20 years and whipping upon conviction.
"While two other investigation papers have also been opened under Section 377C of the Penal Code, which provides for a prison sentence of not more than 20 years and whipping if convicted," he added.

SUNGAI PETANI, July 6 (Bernama) -- Police have arrested three men believed to be the masterminds behind the sale of fake medical certificates (MCs) in the district over the past two years. Kuala Muda district police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan said the group's modus operandi involved issuing MCs without the need for any medical consultation or treatment. He said the case came to light during a probe into a breach of integrity involving a low-ranking police personnel who had frequently submitted MCs. 'This led to the discovery of the group selling fake MCs,' he told a press conference at the Kuala Muda district police headquarters here today. According to him, during a raid on a premises in Taman Songket Indah near here at 4.30 am on June 26, police seized various items, including about 20 fake MCs, tablets, rubber stamps bearing the names of doctors, A4-sized paper, a laptop and a printer. Hanyan said the three unemployed suspects, in their 30s and 40s, sold fake MCs for RM25 to RM30 a day, targeting civil servants as their primary 'customers'. He said the main suspect was found to be a heart patient currently receiving treatment at a hospital. 'During each hospital visit, the suspect would note down the attending doctor's name and later use it on rubber stamps. Most of the names belonged to actual doctors, but the job titles were inaccurate,' Hanyan said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 468 of the Penal Code. -- BERNAMA

Police nab wife of man shot dead in Sungai Petani shootout
SUNGAI PETANI: Police have arrested the wife of a man who was shot dead during a shootout in Bandar Puteri Jaya here yesterday. Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Hanyan Ramlan said the woman, in her 20s, was arrested at the couple's rented home located near the scene of the incident. He said police also seized a pistol during a search of the premises. "The woman has been remanded for seven days starting today, until July 12, to assist with further investigations," Hanyan said at a press conference at the Kuala Muda district police headquarters today. Earlier today, it was reported that a 34-year-old man with a past record of more than 30 criminal-related offences, was shot dead during a shootout with police at 7.50pm yesterday. Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department acting director Datuk Fadil Marsus said the man was believed to be connected to two other suspects who were shot dead in a separate shootout in Jitra, Kedah, earlier the same day. The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

[UPDATED] Man with 41 criminal records among two shot dead in Jitra [WATCH]
JITRA: A man with a past record of over 40 criminal-related offences and his accomplice were shot dead in a shootout with police near the Bandar Darul Aman exit of the North-South Expressway this morning. The 8.05am incident unfolded when a team from the Kedah Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Bukit Aman, who were patrolling the area, noticed two suspicious-looking men in a four-wheel-drive vehicle and attempted to stop it for inspection. Kedah police chief Datuk Fisol Salleh said the suspects refused to comply and instead opened fire, prompting officers to return fire. "Both suspects were killed during the exchange. "A search of the vehicle uncovered two firearms — a revolver and a semi-automatic pistol — along with several live rounds, a machete, and tools believed to be used in criminal activities," he told reporters at the scene. As a result of the incident, the southbound exit at Bandar Darul Aman was closed to traffic for four hours from 8.30am. Fisol said checks showed that one of the suspects, aged 41, had a past record of 41 criminal-related offences. The identity of the second suspect remains unknown, as no identification documents were found on him. He added that the duo are believed to be members of a larger criminal gang involved in violent crimes nationwide. "Their activities include drug trafficking, gangsterism, factory break-ins, and armed robbery. "Investigations suggest this group has been active since 2020. "So far, the forensic unit has recovered three bullet casings at the scene, and investigations are ongoing," he said. The bodies of both suspects have been sent to the Forensic Department at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar for post-mortem. The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder. Meanwhile, Bukit Aman CID acting director Datuk Fadil Marsus, who was also present at the scene, said both suspects are believed to be part of a criminal syndicate involved in multiple serious crimes.
