Malaysian police hunt Pakistani man accused of child sex abuse

Malaysian police are on the hunt for a foreign man accused of sexually assaulting three boys and a teenager over the past three months in suburbs just outside the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. Advertisement The crimes were allegedly carried out in two adjacent neighbourhoods in the city of Shah Alam, a predominantly Malay-Muslim enclave about 30km (19 miles) from the capital. Police believe the suspect, whose last known address was a flat in the city, is still in the country. 'To date, the number of victims stands at four, all of whom are believed to be students or minors,' Shah Alam police chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said in a statement on Sunday. (Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : Police are hunting down a man suspected of sexually assaulting four children in separate incidents since April. Shah Alam police chief Iqbal Ibrahim said the suspect, a Pakistani national known as 'Muhammad Hassan', had approached the victims, all of whom are boys, on the pretext of seeking help, Astro Awani reported. He would then lure the boys to a secluded spot before sexually assaulting them, Iqbal said. The attacks occurred around Section 27 and Section 28 in Shah Alam. 'To date we have received four reports and based on the similarities of the modus operandi we are confident it was committed by the same individual,' he was quoted as saying. Iqbal also said four investigation papers have been opened and police are probing the case for physical sexual assault of a child and for sodomy. The suspect, whose last known address is the Taman Bunga Negara flats in Section 27, Shah Alam, is believed to have fled to the northern states. Iqbal urged those with information on the suspect or the incident to contact the nearest police station or call the investigating officer, Siti Mahanira Mahat at 017-6444895.

SHAH ALAM, July 5 — Police are on the hunt for a Pakistani man believed to be a suspect in four cases of sodomy and molestation involving children and teenage boys in Section 27 and Section 28 here this year. Shah Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said his team received four separate reports involving victims, aged nine, 13, 14, and 19 years old, regarding incidents that began in April and continue to this day, and all the incidents are believed to have been carried out by the same individual. 'The suspect's modus operandi is to initially ask for help from the victims and then take them to a secluded area before sodomising or molesting the victim. 'A total of four investigation papers have been opened, with two being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, while the other two are under Section 377C of the Penal Code,' he said in a statement today. Mohd Iqbal said the suspect Muhammad Hassan, 25, is unemployed and with his last known address being Taman Bunga Negara Flat in Section 27, Shah Alam. He said any individual with information regarding the incidents can contact Crime Investigation Officer, Inspector Siti Mahanira Mahat at 017-6444895. Previously, a WhatsApp post went viral, showing residents' concerns about a group of Pakistani nationals asking for help from children, especially boys. KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking for a Pakistani man who allegedly molested and sodomised several boys. Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the suspect's name was Muhammad Hassan, 25, who is jobless and was last known to stay at the Taman Bunga Negara flats in Section 27, Shah Alam. He said the incident took place in Section 27 and 28, Shah Alam, and the victims were aged 9, 13, 14 and 19. He said four police reports had been lodged since April. "All the incidents were believed to have been committed by the same person. The modus operandi of the suspect involved initially asking the victims for help before taking them to a secluded area where he would sodomise or moleste them," he said in a statement. Iqbal said four investigation papers had been opened, of which two are under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which provides for a prison sentence of not more than 20 years and whipping upon conviction. "While two other investigation papers have also been opened under Section 377C of the Penal Code, which provides for a prison sentence of not more than 20 years and whipping if convicted," he added.
