Autism Society launches early intervention programme for children with autism spectrum disorder
The event took place at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena at Al Sadd Sports Club.
This programme is a pioneering initiative aimed at providing specialised services tailored to the individual needs of children with autism spectrum disorder. It contributes to enhancing their motor, cognitive, and behavioral abilities while also reflecting the state's commitment to comprehensive care and social integration for this group.
The programme targets children between the ages of 3 and 14 by offering a comprehensive training and therapeutic environment that includes individualized sessions across four main areas: behavior modification, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and special education.
The Qatar Autism Society oversees the administrative and technical aspects of the program, including the provision of qualified staff, equipped facilities, and essential training materials.
In its initial phase, the programme, supported by multiple organizations, is set to accommodate 120 children, with Qatari nationals making up approximately 40 percent of the participants, and future expansion will be considered based on capacity.
