Serbia's PM Visits GEM, NMEC & Pyramids

Dr. Đuro Macut, Prime Minister of Serbia, visited the Grand Egyptian Museum, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and the Giza Pyramids, accompanied by a high-level delegation including several ministers and members of the Serbian Parliament.
At the Grand Egyptian Museum, they were received by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, who welcomed the delegation.
He introduced the museum's history and structure, in addition to its most valuable artifacts.
The Serbian Prime Minister and his delegation toured the museum including main exhibition halls, where they received detailed illustrations about the exhibits and the significance of the museum's unique collection.
At the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, they were welcomed by Dr. Al-Tayeb Abbas, CEO of the museum, who gave an overview of the museum's unique location, its history, and its exceptional archaeological collections that narrate the story of Egyptian civilization across the ages.
He also presented the museum's cultural and social role, and accompanied them on a tour of the main Exhibition Hall, the Royal Mummies Hall, and the Egyptian Textile Hall.
The Serbian Prime Minister and his delegation also visited the Giza Pyramids area, where they were welcomed by Mr. Ashraf Mohie El-Din, Director General of Giza Antiquities.
He guided them through the archaeological site, including a visit to the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx, during which they met the story of the Pyramids construction.
During these visits, the Serbian Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation were keen to take photos at the museums and archaeological sites.
They expressed their deep admiration for the artifacts and unique collections they saw, which reflect the greatness of ancient Egyptian civilization and the uniqueness of Egypt's museums.

Egypt's Al-Sisi reviews plan to engage private sector in airport development
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Saturday reviewed a comprehensive strategy to develop the country's civil aviation sector, including plans to involve the private sector in operating airports to help achieve a national target of 30 million tourists annually, the presidency said. The president met in New Alamein with Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny and the chairperson of EgyptAir Air Services, Soheir Abdallah, to discuss the plan, which covers air navigation, the aircraft fleet, and airport development. Al-Sisi directed officials to proceed with offering Hurghada airport for partnership with the private sector by the end of 2025, according to a presidential statement. This move is part of a national strategy, prepared in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as a strategic advisor, to engage private companies in the operation and development of 11 key airports. The strategy, which aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve services, is expected to be finalised before the end of summer 2025. The state will retain ownership of these assets. The statement quoted Al-Sisi as emphasising the need for international partnerships based on efficiency and sustainability, alongside incentives for the private sector, to transform Egypt's airports into advanced regional hubs. During the meeting, Al-Sisi was updated on the 'New Republic's Air Gateway' project at Terminal 4 of Cairo International Airport. The project aims to build a new passenger terminal with a capacity of at least 30 million passengers, which would raise the airport's total capacity to over 60 million passengers per year. The discussion also covered Egypt's air navigation system, which has received international praise for its performance, particularly amid recent regional crises that led to the closure of airspace in neighbouring countries. The increased traffic, reaching over 1,600 flights per day, was managed efficiently by Egyptian air traffic controllers, earning commendations from organisations such as Eurocontrol, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), and the International Air Transport Association (IATA). A plan to restructure and modernise Egypt's airspace and its radar and communication systems was also reviewed. The meeting also addressed the progress made by the national carrier, EgyptAir. The airline was recently named 'Best Airline Staff in Africa' for 2025 by the global rating organisation Skytrax. It also won awards for the best economy class meals, the most improved airline in Africa for the second consecutive year, and the best cabin crew on the continent. EgyptAir has climbed 20 places to rank 68th among the world's top 100 airlines. The statement also referenced the company's plan to modernise its fleet to 97 aircraft by the 2028/2029 fiscal year to enhance its competitiveness. Efforts to develop EgyptAir Air Services were also discussed, focusing on improving infrastructure, equipment, and staff training, as well as upgrading business lounges and improving the company's flight regularity rates.

Egypt, HK Palace Museum to co-host exhibition on ancient Egyptian civilization
Secretary-General of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities Mohamed Ismail Khaled and Director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum Louis Ng signed a cooperation agreement to organize a major temporary exhibition titled 'Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums'. The exhibition is scheduled to be held at the Hong Kong Palace Museum from November 18, 2025, to August 31, 2026. The signing ceremony took place in Hong Kong, in the presence of senior Egyptian and Chinese cultural officials. The exhibition will feature approximately 250 exceptional artifacts carefully selected from several Egyptian museums, including the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Luxor Museum of Ancient Egyptian Art, Suez National Museum and Sohag National Museum. The exhibition will showcase recently excavated artifacts from the Saqqara archaeological site, alongside a carefully curated selection of items presently exhibited in the 'At the Summit of the Pyramid: Civilization of Ancient Egypt' exhibition in Shanghai. The exhibition focuses on three key themes: Royal Egypt, the Era of Tutankhamun, and Archaeological Discoveries from Saqqara. Following the signing ceremony, an international press conference was held to commemorate the partnership, drawing extensive media coverage both locally and internationally. In his remarks, Khaled described the exhibition as a cultural gateway to over 5,000 years of Egyptian history, marking the start of an exceptional cultural journey that deepens cooperation between Egypt and China. He described the exhibition as a timeless cultural dialogue that bridges past and present, reflecting the artistic and creative values shared by two of the world's great civilizations. He added that the inclusion of artifacts from the ongoing exhibition in Shanghai underscores its remarkable success and strong public reception in China, expressing confidence that the Hong Kong exhibition will enjoy similar acclaim and provide a rich and distinguished cultural experience. He concluded by extending an open invitation to the people of Hong Kong, Asia, and the international community to visit the exhibition and explore the wonders of ancient Egyptian civilization, saying this event marks the beginning of a new chapter in cultural and archaeological cooperation between Egypt and China. Louis Ng underlined that China and Egypt are cradles of two of the world's oldest civilizations, united by enduring cultural and historical bonds. He described the exhibition as a milestone in cultural exchange between the two nations and a testament to the museum's dedication to promoting intercultural dialogue and advancing mutual understanding through cultural engagement.

Yara Sameh Egyptian superstar Mohamed Hamaki is putting the final touches on his new album. The record consists of 10 songs and is slated to arrive in the summer. In the album, Hamaki cooperates with new collaborations with composers Tamer Hussein, Aziz Elshafei, and more. The megastar released his last album 'Howa El Asas' in August 2024.
