Next up at No. 15 is running back D'Andre Swift, who needs to prove worthy of the massive contract the Bears gave him last offseason and will be key to the success of Chicago's run game.

The Bears had several free-agent options at running back last offseason, and they opted to go with D'Andre Swift, whose first season in Chicago was up-and-down. It was a disastrous start for Swift, who had just 31 rushing yards through three weeks. But he did follow that up with 388 rushing yards and four touchdowns the ensuing four weeks. Swift fell just short of 1,000 rushing yards, and he had just one game where he rushed for 100-plus yards (where he had 129 rushing yards in a Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders). Overall, Swift was inconsistent as a rusher, due in part to his own struggles and a weak offensive line. He did show he can be a dynamic weapon out of the backfield, and he did have several long runs of 36, 39, and 59 yards. While Swift did start every game for the Bears, it was an overall inconsistent year that left a lot to be desired.
2025 outlook
Swift enters the 2025 season entrenched as the lead back in a room including Roschon Johnson and rookie Kyle Monangai. The former Detroit Lion is also reunited with his former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who has an understanding of how to utilize Swift. Following a disappointing first season in Chicago, Swift is looking to bounce back -- and he'll get to do so behind a revamped offensive line that includes newcomers Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman and Jonah Jackson. When looking at Johnson's offense, the run game is a vital component, and Swift has the potential to play a key role. With Johnson, new running backs coach Eric Bieniemy and an improved offensive line, Swift could be poised for a bounce-back season.
Big question: Does Swift have a future in Chicago?
There's a ton of pressure on Swift to perform in 2025 following an underwhelming first year in Chicago. There were plenty of reports that the Bears were looking to draft a running back -- be it Ashton Jeanty or TreVeyon Henderson -- indicating Ben Johnson is looking for a home run hitter in the run game. While Chicago drafted Kyle Monangai in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL draft, he's not an immediate threat to Swift -- but that doesn't mean he won't become one. Swift needs to prove worthy of the three-year, $24 million deal that the Bears signed him to last offseason. If he doesn't have a bounce-back year -- especially reunited with Johnson -- then he could very be a salary cap casualty as it would only cost Chicago $1.33 million in dead money.

Fans and city leaders hope WNBA approves sale to move the Sun to Boston
Big news broke Saturday when reports said the minority owner of the Celtics reached a deal to buy the Connecticut Sun and move them to Boston. The group led by Steve Pagliuca bid a record $325 million for the WNBA franchise, with plans to move them to Massachusetts. Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey wants this deal to be approved. 'Boston is the perfect place for a WNBA team. We are the hub of New England and the birthplace of basketball. We have an incredible sports culture and strong enthusiasm for women's sports, as evidenced by the Sun selling out TD Garden two years in a row. This would be a great opportunity for our state, for the League and for the players.' Governor Maura Healey Boston 25 spoke with fans outside of TD Garden Saturday night and they were excited at the thought of a women's basketball team coming to the city. 'I think it's crazy I think Boston should have been one of the first cities to get one,' Joseph Willingham said. 'It's insane.' Basketball fans have been waiting years for this and are pumped to hear it could finally be happening soon. 'Any women's team coming to the city is really exciting I definitely support them,' Allen Martin said. Boston City Councilor Brian Worrell is pushing for people to call on the WNBA to add a team to Boston. He's hoping and expecting this deal to go through. 'We heard from many, many fans here in Boston that want the 'W' here in the city,' Worrell said. 'We have the best fan base in the country so I wouldn't see why the WNBA would not approve this.' The sale is pending approval of the league and its Board of Governors. The franchise wouldn't play in Boston until the 2027 season at the earliest. 'I hope the league hears us loud and clear; we have a record deal,' Worrell said. 'Let's get this deal done, and hopefully the sun will rise in Boston.' This is a developing story. Roughriders improve to 7-1 with convincing win over Alouettes
The Saskatchewan Roughriders left no doubt on Saturday night. In Week 9 of the CFL season, the Roughriders improved to 7-1 on the year with a convincing 34-6 win over the Montreal Alouettes, who dropped to 5-3. Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris completed 19 of 27 passes for 289 yards with two touchdown passes. Dohnte Meyers led all receivers with five catches for 136 yards while Tommy Nield and KeeSean Johnson caught touchdown passes. Saskatchewan's defence made life tough for Alouettes quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson as he was intercepted by linebacker Jameer Thurman while also being sacked twice by defensive linemen Shane Ray and Mike Rose. Bethel-Thompson finished the night having completed 15 of 26 passes for 126 yards. Saskatchewan's defence also allowed just 59 rushing yards. Right from the opening kickoff, the Roughriders controlled the game on Saturday night. After a 46-yard kick return by Meyers, the Roughriders put together a seven-minute drive, going 54 yards on 10 plays, with short-yardage quarterback Tommy Stevens plunging into the end zone from one yard out to make it 7-0. In the second quarter, the Roughriders made it 14-0 as Harris engineered a nine play, 69-yard drive capped off with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Nield, who was making his first start of the season in place of the injured Samuel Emilus. The Alouettes got on the board with five minutes left in the half as kicker Jose Maltos nailed a 56-yard field goal to make it 14-3. On Saskatchewan's next drive, Harris hit Meyers for a 58-yard gain up the sideline before Brett Lauther kicked a 17-yard field goal to make it 17-3. On Montreal's next possession, the Roughriders defence got the ball right back as Thurman intercepted Bethel-Thompson near midfield. However, Saskatchewan's offence was forced to punt it away and the 78-yard punt by Joe Couch went into end zone for a rouge to make it 18-3. In the first half, Saskatchewan's defence limited Montreal to 80 yards of offence and just five first downs. The Roughriders offence had 212 net yards and 13 first downs while leading time of possession 20:14 to 9:46 After a 25-minute lightning delay during halftime, the Alouettes cut into the lead by three points early in the third quarter as Maltos made a 54-yard field goal to make it 18-6. On the ensuing drive, Saskatchewan's offence picked up where it left off as Harris hit Meyers for a 32-yard gain, which put the second-year receiver over 100 yards on the night, before Lauther hit a 32-yard field goal to make it 21-6. Saskatchewan's defence then forced a turnover on downs as Ray sacked Bethel-Thompson on a third-down gamble. Bethel-Thompson appeared to have fumbled the ball, which was returned for a 45-yard touchdown by defensive tackle Caleb Sanders. However, the play was reviewed and Bethel-Thompson was ruled to be down by contact, which negated fumble. With good field position, Harris went back to work as he hit Meyers for a 24-yard gain before finding Johnson for a 14-yard touchdown strike to put Saskatchewan up 28-6. In the fourth quarter, Riders running back A.J. Ouellette picked up a first down along the ground before backup running back Mario Anderson rumbled 26 yards to get Saskatchewan into field goal position as Lauther made a 32-yarder to put the Riders up 31-6. After hitting the upright on a field goal attempt with 2:37 left, Lauther got another crack in the final minute as he made a 48-yard field goal to make it 34-6 to cap the scoring. The Roughriders are now entering their second bye week of the season. MLB Speedway Classic between Braves, Reds delayed for 2 1/2 hours, then ultimately suspended until Sunday
The Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds were ready to start their engines Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. Then Mother Nature waved the red flag not once but twice before play was ultimately suspended. The MLB Speedway Classic began with a 2 1/2 hour rain delay, followed by less than a full inning of baseball, followed by another delay that resulted in a suspension of play until Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Cincinnati will take a 1-0 lead into the next day. The Reds scored off an Austin Hays single to left, their third hit of the frame. First pitch finally arrived at 9:40 p.m. ET. Because of the lengthy delay, Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider was scratched from the lineup. Strider, who grew up in Tennessee, went through warmups prior to the delay. Left-handed reliever Austin Cox, who had previously started only three games in his brief MLB career, got the nod for the Braves instead. They were planning to lean on their bullpen Saturday night. The Reds, on the other hand, didn't scratch their starter. They still rolled with Chase Burns, a 22-year-old who grew up in Tennessee as well and played college baseball for the Tennessee Volunteers. Burns produced a 1-2-3 inning to start the game. Leading up to the original 7:15 p.m. ET start time, pregame festivities included performances from Pitbull and Tim McGraw, U.S. Navy Musician First Class Kathryn Dobyns singing the national anthem, NASCAR pit crews helping introduce the starting lineups by servicing Braves- and Reds-themed stock cars and a flyover by four U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets from Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach. But the rain started coming down. It was pouring when Braves icon Chipper Jones and Reds legend Johnny Bench participated in the ceremonial first pitches. Jones, an eight-time All-Star and one-time World Series champion with the Braves, threw to NASCAR driver Chase Elliott. Fellow NASCAR driver Kyle Busch — a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion — walked out to Bench, a 14-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion with the Reds, and traded spots, allowing the 77-year-old Bench to man his old position as catcher. As the rain continued to hit the converted diamond in the heart of the race track, the tarp came out. Nevertheless, a good number of fans originally expected to break MLB's all-time regular-season, single-game attendance record Saturday stayed put. Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci collected interviews for Fox Sports during the delay, showcasing how players and coaches for both teams still shared that enthusiasm. The grounds crew started removing the tarp around 8:50 p.m. ET. After the field was drained, the game finally started. But it wasn't long before the rain picked up again and the tarp returned. "We'll be back tomorrow, 1 o'clock resume," said Michael Hill, MLB senior vice president of on-field operations. "We are optimistic for a better weather forecast tomorrow."
