Channel 4 show First Dates is returning with a new series tonight, and there's a major twist in store.
The show, which is hosted by Fred Sirieix, films singletons who are looking for love while they're on a blind date in a restaurant.
In this evening's episode, mum-of-three Sophie is going on a date with a woman for the first time. She meets Emily, a massage therapist, in the First Dates restaurant.
The date seems to be going well, with Sophie telling Emily that she's 'stunning' and Emily returning the compliment.
But they're not the only two people there, and partway through the conversation, Sophie drops a bombshell.
'I'm married,' she says, going on to reveal her husband is at the bar. She then asks Emily if she'd like to meet him.
It turns out that Sophie, and her husband Ricki, are looking to explore polyamory, and are open to welcoming another person into their relationship.
Ricki reveals in the episode: 'It would be nice to share the moments with another person.'
Sophie adds: 'To find someone that likes to cuddle up on the couch. It's like a missing piece to a jigsaw.'

It's the first time the Channel 4 show has ever aired a 'throuple' date.
Ricki and Sophie recently revealed to the Sun that they plan to watch the episode with friends, some of whom might be shocked to see the couple on the screen.
Ricki revealed: 'People who are close to us know [about our polyamorous lifestyle] and people who don't know are going to find out in quite a fun way.'
According to the Sun, Ricki and Sophie met on dating app Tinder in 2015 and were married three years later.
They began exploring opening up their relationship by going to lifestyle clubs, previously known as swingers' parties, two years in.
Some viewers may recognise their date, Emily, who recently appeared on another Channel 4 show, Open House: The Great Sex Experiment.
The show invites couples who are looking to open up their relationships to a luxury retreat, where they meet people who have already embraced the non-monogamous lifestyle.
Emily was one of the residents on the most recent series, which is the group of people who are experienced in non-monogamy and help introduce it to the newcomers. More Trending
The show has seen its fair share of graphic moments, but the experience isn't for everyone.
One man appeared to vomit at the thought of his girlfriend sleeping with another woman, while another star broke down in tears at one of the sex parties.
Elsewhere on tonight's episode of First Dates, widowed dad Mike meets hairdresser Carly, 89-year-old Derek meets fellow music lover June and self-confessed 'walking red flag' Conner meets tech consultant Charlie.

In a candid chat, the maître d' from First Dates divulged personal details to journalist Michael Odell, touching on his family, past relationships, and his current spouse. After separating from his previous partner, Alex Spendolini (mother to his children), in 2016, Fred found love again with the woman he affectionately calls "Fruitcake." The couple exchanged vows in the idyllic setting of Negril, Jamaica, in February. ‌ Since 2018, Fred has been romantically involved with Fruitcake (whose actual name remains private), culminating in a grand wedding celebration at Pattoo Castle. ‌ His children played roles in the festivities; Lucien served as best man while Olympic diver Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix performed a reading. When quizzed in the recent interview about the impact of marriage on his life, Fred extolled its virtues. Fruitcake's real name hasn't been publicly revealed (Image: Getty Images ) Speaking to the Times , he expressed: "It's brilliant. We've been together almost nine years but it's about trust and commitment. It has elevated the relationship. You put a ring on the finger and it says: this is serious; I'm not going anywhere. We are on this journey together for life." Despite Michael finding it "confusing", Fred stood firm, stating: "No. She has a job. Nobody needs to know who she is. It interferes with her life." Fred, who graced the jungle in I'm A Celebrity after his success on Channel 4's First Dates, often shares endearing snippets from their holidays and dates, as reported by the Standard. True to form, on his and Fruitcake's special day, Fred posted an Instagram photo of the elated pair with the caption "18.02.2025". ‌ In the photo, Fred is pictured sporting a white tuxedo jacket. Meanwhile, Fruitcake dazzles in a white dress and veil. In the comments, she says: "Best day of my life!!!!!" Fred was resolute in his response to the "complaint" (Image: Getty Images for BAFTA ) Speaking previously to OK!, Fred admitted that he's a "hopeless romantic" at heart, adding that "you reap what you sow" when it comes to relationships. ‌ The 'My Million Pound Menu' star explained that with more effort made, the "better it becomes", describing how it's all about "nurturing love". Fred also shared one of his most memorable romantic acts, acknowledging he's made many over the years, but one particular gesture involved "whisking Fruitcake off." He reminisced: "I'm a big fan of romantic gestures; I've made plenty over the years. Perhaps one of my best or favourite ones was whisking Fruitcake off to Monte Carlo to show her the places where I worked as a young professional. It was magical to relive those moments together as a team!" Article continues below You can next catch Fred on First Dates on Channel 4 tonight (Friday, July 4), from 10pm to 11.05pm.

All the stars in the Celebrity Gogglebox 2025 cast including TV legends

As Celebrity Gogglebox comes back to screens, new and returning famous faces are taking to the sofa to entertain the nation. The star-studded Channel 4 reality show brings together celebrities from across UK culture to share their weirdest, wildest and wackiest takes on the hottest TV shows in the land. It boasts an impressive alumni, including father-and-daughter duo Danny and Dani Dyer; married reality stars Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash; Spice Girls icon Mel B and her daughter Phoenix Chi – to name just a few. The seventh series is welcoming a fresh new cohort of stars to gain their Gogglebox stripes, with everyone from comedy legends to pop icons. As the full lineup is slowly revealed, there are even exciting rumours of exactly who will complete the cast, such as Alison Hammond and her son Aiden, who have already done a travel show together. So, without further ado, here's who to expect cropping up on your screen every Friday night from June 7. Phoenix Nights star Paddy McGuinness and BBC Radio 2 host Vernon Kay are going to be bringing Bolton's finest laughs to Celebrity Gogglebox this year. The two will be sharing a sofa to give their commentary on the nation's favourite TV shows – news was confirmed by Channel 4's Gogglebox Instagram account when the full lineup was announced. Good news for any fans of This Morning, The Great British Bake Off, or Alison's own Big Weekend show, Alison Hammond is going to be on the couch with her lovely family. Famous for her unique and infectious laughter, Channel 4 viewers will surely be giggling along as they watch Alison react loudly to the latest big moments in TV. On Instagram, Channel 4's Gogglebox account posted: 'Say hello to @alisonhammond55, her sister, Saundra and her son, Aidan. Catch them tonight at 9pm, @channel4 📺👀' The Inbetweeners star James Buckley has delighted fans after confirming he and his wife Clair will appear on the show this year. The 37-year-old actor, best known for portraying Jay Cartwright in the hit 00s sitcom, took to social media to share the exciting news. 'Hi guys, how's it going? We are joining the Gogglebox family. We're going to be watching some great TV and some not so great TV. And you'll be able to join us on Friday on Channel 4 at 9pm,' he said. James and Clair have already won fans over with their joint YouTube/podcast/book brand, At Home With The Buckleys, which tackles 'the wild ride that is modern marriage, parenting and adulting'. The parents of two children – Harrison and Jude – are candid about their 'early lives, years of cult TV fame, having children and setting up their YouTube channel', cultivating over 250k subscribers. If that wasn't enough, they also have another podcast, In Sickness and In Health, which focuses on discussing 'relationship non-negotiables.' As such, there is plenty of excitement to see this dynamic duo bring their witty rapport to the Gogglebox sofa. 'Can't wait to see you on it jay cartwright you legend,' Chris_leeds_united_woodrow said. 'Omg I'm buzzing!! Cannot wait!' jessica_sellwood95 echoed. 'These two are class. What an addition to Gogglebox this is gonna be,' kellyann83 agreed. Geordie Shore legend Vicky Pattinson and Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks will be offering their verdict from their sofa in the new series of Gogglebox specials. Vicky and Pete have been friends for years, with the two often standing by each other during their personal lives and professional careers. Both made their names through reality TV, with Pete coming through the ranks over on TOWIE, so audiences will be keen to get their backstage gossip on any reality shenanigans they might be watching. The pair will be joined by adorable dogs Milo and Max. Next up, we have pop singer Jess Glynne, 35, and her partner Alex Scott, 40, who is a well-known former Lioness and sports commentator. Taking to Instagram to share their involvement in the new series, the loved-up couple said: 'We are both so excited to be joining the Gogglebox family.' Alex then turned to the Hold My Hand hitmaker and asked, 'Are you ready to watch some TV?' to which Jess responded, 'Yeah, are you?' and Alex replied in the affirmative, encouraging viewers to join them on Friday. The brand-new stars have been in a happy relationship since summer 2023 and have been seen together at plenty of red carpet events. Jess spoke about the joy she has found in life to Metro last year: 'I am happy, I feel like I've found a really good balance in my life. I've got support in my family, my business, my partner, everyone around me.' Of course, they have sparked plenty of excitement among fans. 'Aww looking forward to this weeks episode even more,' user raerubyraek said. 'No place I'd rather be,' officialanmollakhani joked. Former Spandau Ballet bassist Martin Kemp and his radio host son Roman will be giving viewers their thoughts on the TV zeitgeist of 2025 thus far. It's not the first time the duo will have appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox, with the Kemps already familiar faces to those who've watched it before. The pair have been on the show for six years now, with their first appearance coming in the celeb version's inaugural year back in June 2019. After a standout year of cameos from Big Boys to Doctor Who, Rylan is charming the nation for another year as he returns to the sofa with mum Linda. First joining the show in 2019, the mother-and-son duo have been staples of the Channel 4 reality show. In a recent Instagram post, they confirmed this dynamic duo would be shaking things up again with Rylan joking: 'Cor, someone's had her makeup done, look!' Fans celebrated their return, calling them 'the best'. The 90s nostalgia will be off the charts when former Big Breakfast co-hosts Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen reunite on the Gogglebox sofa. Denise and Johnny hosted the Channel 4 breakfast show from 1997 until 2001, following a huge shake-up of the lineup after its first group of presenters were replaced. The two have reunited on a few occasions since, but this will be the first time Channel 4 audiences have seen them together on the broadcaster in 24 years. In a fun statement, Johnny told viewers: 'There's a box and we're goggling it, join us.' The Happy Monday rockers are back at it for another series, as they announced on social media. 'We're back on Gogglebox with crisps, chocolate, jelly babies, popcorn, and we're gonna watch tele and what?', Bez asked Shaun. 'Talk a right load of b****,' Shaun gleefully responded. The pair have made quite the splash on the show, with such vibrant chemistry that fans have been calling for them to get their own show all together. In 1993, the pair formed Black Grape together and have remained close friends since then. Do you think Channel 4 are likely to show Larry Lamb the full Gavin & Stacey Christmas finale from 2024? Or was that too long ago? We can live in hope. The Edmonton actor and his presenter son George will be giving us their views on the latest from the world of TV when Celebrity Gogglebox returns on Friday, June 7. In a short statement announcing the news, Channel 4 said 'the Lambs are in the house', with the dad-and-son pair sharing a video saying how happy they were to be joining this series and inviting viewers to 'join in'. British swimmer Ellie Simmonds and close friend, radio personality Richie Anderson – who were co-stars on Strictly Come Dancing in 2022 – are returning for another series of Gogglebox. 'When I got the call, I did wonder whether I should do it. Then I thought I'd do a leap of faith. You don't know until you try,' Ellie said about her decision to join at the time. The retired Paralympian, who recently featured in a new documentary, Ellie Simmonds: Should I Have Children, called their return to the show 'so exciting'. Comedy mother-and-daughter duo Jennifer Saunders and Beattie Edmondson will be joining famous faces on the brand new series of Celebrity Gogglebox. The 80s and 90s comedy legend, 66, will be sitting alongside her daughter, 37, to give us their thoughts on the best TV of 2025 thus far. In a video statement, Jennifer said, 'Hello, it's Celebrity Gogglebox and we're back,' before Beattie joked that they'd be 'watching TV [while] on TV'. The famed Radio 1 broadcaster Nick Grimshaw – who first appeared on the show in 2019 – is returning for another series of Gogglebox shenanigans with his niece, Liv. In a chat with The Times last year, the regular joked: 'I love watching telly in the evening, but watching myself watching telly on Gogglebox is a step too far. 'When I do, I spend the next few hours thinking, 'Wow, I really shouldn't be on the TV,' which I think is a healthy reaction.' This year has seen another big career milestone for the DJ and presenter who has recently joined the 6 Music Breakfast Show. Comic duo – Babatunde Aleshe and Mo Gilligan – are back, back again. As Mo said: 'We're back, we hope you're back too. Come on! No scary movies, though, please.' Babatunde was in full agreement, although they both seemed to quickly accept their fate, that there was likely a scary movie in their future. The longtime friends and collaborators decided to join Celebrity Gogglebox when their work dried up over the pandemic. The I'm A Celebrity star recounted: 'Then the pandemic hit, and the tour got postponed. I was like, OK, right, back to square one. 'But then [Mo] said, 'Look, we're still guaranteed to do the tour, but in the meanwhile, do you want to join me on Celebrity Gogglebox?' And I said, 'Hell, yeah!' And so it all fell into place. I started doing that, and then my manager at TfL informed me that they had to let me go.' Last but certainly not least, Diversity duo Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely are back. The Britain's Got Talent winners and self-proclaimed 'besties' are sitting shoulder-to-shoulder in the new series, as they told fans. They first appeared on the show with brother Ashley Banjo in September 2021 and have been regulars since then. More Trending 'Perri kills me. I will be watching this,' Simsimma1992 declared in the Instagram comments. 'Yay!! Excited to see you,' Aberdeenlass echoed. Celebrity Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4. 'Expansively unsettling' and deeply personal horror film finally released in UK

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video David Cronenberg's latest film The Shrouds is here after being released in the US months prior – and it has been described as 'horrific' and 'fearless.' The revered director – best known for Crash, The Fly, Dead Ringers, and many other genre films – explores death and grief to devastating effect following the story of Karsh (Vincent Cassel), a creative entrepreneur who lost his wife Becca (Diane Kruger). He developed a technology known as The Shrouds, which allows users to monitor a deceased person's body as it decomposes via an app called GraveTech. After graves are destroyed in a GraveTech cemetery, including Becca's, Karsh begins to question if her death was part of a larger conspiracy as he investigates the attack. It has proved to be a deeply personal project for Cronenberg, inspired by his wife, Carolyn Cronenberg, who died of cancer at age 67 in 2017. After being released in the US back in April, the film has finally arrived in the UK as of today – but be warned, it has been hailed 'expansively unsettling' and 'hollowing.' It holds a 76% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics' consensus reading: 'Ruminating on the love within loss, The Shrouds is a personal and peculiar examination of grief by director David Cronenberg.' In their review, Empire wrote: 'It's a hypnotic descent into the darkness of grief, punctuated by perverse Cronenbergian pleasures.' The Washington Post said The Shrouds 'throbs with raw, human, horrific honesty', while the San Jose Mercury pondered 'How lucky we are to have this boundary pusher still thinking up such bold and provocative films.' Globe and Mail boldly stated: 'With The Shrouds, the filmmaker — not only one of Canada's greatest creations, but cinema's, too — has delivered what might be his career-defining masterpiece.' The Ringer heaped praise on Cronenberg, adding: 'Like 2022's superb Crimes of the Future, The Shrouds serves as a reminder that, at 81 years old, Cronenberg is still one of the world's great filmmakers: bold, uncompromising, clever, and fearless.' Speaking to Variety, Cronenberg explained how he developed the concept of The Shrouds and how the film was almost a Netflix series. 'It was pre-pandemic. I went to L.A. to pitch it to Netflix. At that point, it was a well-formed idea, but it wasn't a script yet,' he revealed. 'The people I talked to there were very receptive, and Netflix gave me the OK to start writing what they call the prototype, which was the first episode of what was then going to be a series. 'And then they liked that enough to tell me to go ahead and write the second episode. After that, they decided not to go forward for various reasons.' More Trending Despite the subject matter of the film and its inspiration, the History of Violence director said he 'did not experience any catharsis' making it, describing grief as 'forever.' 'I don't really think of art as therapy. I don't think it works that way,' he continued. 'If you're an artist, everything you make, you work out of your life experience, no matter what that is. Whether you're rehashing something from your distant past or your present circumstances, there's always creative energy that can be mined from your life. ' The Shrouds is in cinemas now .
