Residents in the UAE on Wednesday (July 16) will get some relief from the intense summer heat, with rain likely in parts of the country, National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said. According to the weather department, conditions on Wednesday will be fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of convective clouds forming eastward by the afternoon, possibly bringing rainfall. However, despite the possibility of showers in some areas, temperatures will remain high across much of the country. The mercury is expected to reach a scorching 49°C in Abu Dhabi's Al Quaa, Razeen, and Mezaira. Dubai is forecast to hit 46°C, while Abu Dhabi will see highs of 47°C. Winds will shift from southeasterly to northwesterly, remaining light to moderate at speeds of 10–25kmph, but could reach up to 40kmph, stirring blowing dust in some areas. The Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will experience slight sea conditions.

As the weather department had forecast, rain hit some parts of the UAE on Tuesday, July 15, bringing some respite from the sweltering summer heat. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that there was light rainfall in some parts of Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah. Rain fell in Al Bhaes and Fili in the emirate of Sharjah as well as Al Musayli, Wadi Al Tuwa and Showkah/Kadrah in Ras Al Khaimah. In the morning, there was rainfall over Dibba Al Hisn in Sharjah and Masafi, Al Nakheel and Al Qussaidat in Ras Al Khaimah. The NCM had also issued an orange and yellow alert for convective clouds associated with rainfall from 3 pm on Tuesday, July 15 till 8pm on Tuesday, July 15. The highest temperature recorded in the country was 49.8 °C in Saih Al Salam in Dubai at 1.45pm. The lowest temperature recorded in the morning was 26.6°C in Jais Mountain in Ras Al Khaimah at 2.15am. Hail in Oman Meanwhile, Storm Centre shared videos of heavy rainfall and hail in Oman. There was hail in Wadi Bani Ghafir, while heavy rains lashed different part of the Sultanate.
