Thanks To Google, Harry Potter Fans Get First Look At HBO Series Set
Warner Bros. has built the entire Privet Drive for the upcoming Harry Potter series.
In today's world, where technology has the power to connect every nook and corner of the world, nothing can be truly kept hidden for long, especially when it comes to something as popular as Harry Potter. With the new series in the making, fans have now found a surprise on the internet. They got a sneak peek at the filming location of the upcoming show, thanks to Google Earth.
Google Earth Discovery
A Reddit user shared a cool discovery on the subreddit dedicated to the upcoming HBO show. Using Google Earth's historical imagery feature, the fan was able to see the newly built Privet Drive set at the Warner Bros. studio in Leavesden, Watford.
Privet Drive is going to play a crucial role in the show's early episodes as it is the exact place where Harry Potter grew up with the Dursleys before he headed to Hogwarts. In the original movies, the Dursley house was a real home in Surrey. This time, the makers took things a notch higher by developing an entire street just for the show.
Harry Potter Series Is In Production
Based on the books by JK Rowling, the upcoming television show is expected to premiere in 2027, with new seasons releasing through 2037. Just a few days back, the makers of the new series announced that production has begun. It comes nearly 24 years after the release of the first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Sharing a picture of young Harry with a clapboard on Instagram on July 14, HBO Max wrote, 'First years, step forward. The HBO Original Harry Potter series is now in production."

Josh Brolin on why he is uncertain about sequel to The Goonies
Washington DC [US], August 3 (ANI): Hollywood actor Josh Brolin shared why he is uncertain about a sequel to the 1985 adventure comedy film, 'The Goonies'. Brolin explained his hesitation toward a potential follow-up and what it would take to get him onboard during the premiere of Zach Cregger's much-anticipated horror film 'Weapons', reported Deadline. "I hope it does [happen] because the experience was so great," he said, adding, "The movie is received so well, generation after generation. It's just everything good about it. The trepidation I have is that you might release something else that taints it. I don't want to taint what my memory of it is." The Oscar nominee shared about what the sequel's storyline would entail, given the fact that its release would come over four decades after the 1985 debut of the classic adventure comedy about a group of misfit kids hunting treasure in a bid to save their house from foreclosure, according to Deadline. "It's like, 'Oh, we came out with another,' and then the Goonies grew up, and then they came out with their walkers, and then they fell off a cliff because they couldn't see very well, like, what are you going to do? I don't know. Maybe it could be great. If it's great, you'll know, like if story writer Steven Spielberg approves it, you know it's going to be good. But I think there have been five scripts so far through the years, and he hasn't approved anything yet -- so me being picky, Spielberg is picky, and he has a reason to be because he has great taste," said the actor. 'The Goonies' is a 1985 adventure comedy film directed and co-produced by Richard Donner from a screenplay by Chris Columbus based on a story by Steven Spielberg and starring Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman, Kerri Green , Martha Plimpton, and Ke Huy Quan with John Matuszak, Robert Davi, Joe Pantoliano, and Anne Ramsey in supporting roles. 'The Goonies 2 'is in the works at Warner Bros., and Steven Spielberg, Kristie Macosko Krieger and Holly Bario will produce for Amblin Entertainment alongside original scribe Chris Columbus, with Lauren Shuler Donner executive producing. Potsy Ponciroli is writing the screenplay for the sequel. Plot details are currently under wraps, according to Deadline. (ANI)

Nicole Kidman On Her ‘Insane' Bond With Sandra Bullock: ‘We're Having The Best Time'
Last Updated: Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock have an "insane" bond on Practical Magic 2 and are so close they feel "like sisters" in real life. Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock have an 'insane" bond on Practical Magic 2. The two actresses have reprised their roles as sister witches Gillian and Sally Owens in the sequel to the 1998 classic, and the Big Little Lies star admitted she and her pal are 'like sisters" in real life and love poking fun at one another. She told People magazine: '[Our dynamic is] insane. I can tease her, and she teases me," Kidman, 58, explains, noting, 'We're both living in London, very close to each other… 'I adore her and she is so funny and so lovable. And we're just having the best time together." The 58-year-old actress admitted she and Sandra are thrilled to be playing the characters again after a 27-year absence. She said: 'We're both like, 'What?' But we were just right back into it." And it isn't only Sandra that Nicole has enjoyed working with on the movie. She added: 'We have this wonderful female director, Susanne Bier. Warner Bros. is behind the film. And they've been incredibly supportive in making this, going back and then expanding it. 'And then we have beautiful Joey King, who I've worked with before and who's just lovely. So it's a group of amazing, amazing women and some great men who are creating the next phase, the next stage of the witches' life." Meanwhile, Evan Rachel Wood recently revealed she won't be reprising her role as Kylie, Sandra's on-screen daughter, in the sequel, despite having asked about being part of the project. She wrote on Instagram Stories: 'I am getting asked about this a lot, so l'll just clear it up now; I was not asked to come back and be in the Practical Magic sequel. l offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line. I was told they are recasting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters." Bullock and Nicole Kidman are reprising their roles as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, who are descended from a long line of witches. Meanwhile, producer Denise Di Novi previously promised that fans will be 'very pleased" with the sequel, which will draw heavily from the source material – Alice Hoffman's 2021 novel The Book of Magic. She told Entertainment Weekly: 'I think (fans are) going to be very pleased. We're going to be very faithful. We're [aware of] how important those characters and that movie are to so many people. We're not going to reinvent the wheel. 'We're going to draw from Alice Hoffman's books, as the first movie did, and we're going to be true to the chronology of how many years later it is." Di Novi explained how the crew will 'be respectful to the characters, story, and locations" from the original picture. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
