It was a rough day for Dylan Keith Devereaux, who fled after being initially spotted and pulled over by Florida Highway troopers in Pasco County on January 27, due to reckless driving, reported law enforcement authorities.
Devereaux took off at a high rate of speed, stopping once to drop off a passenger before speeding off again, according to FHP officers, who were hot on his tail.
The vehicle eventually crashed into a tree, and Devereaux leaped from the car. He was tasered and brought to the ground by troopers, according to a criminal probable cause affidavit obtained by ABC6.
The 36-year-old reportedly began fighting with troopers in the road in a bid to escape before managing to sprint away with one hand cuffed, the affidavit recounted.
Devereaux ran toward his nearby residence but fled into a forest instead.The trooper who saw him flee waited for backup before pursuing him, ABC6 reported.
A K9 unit was later deployed and the dog led law enforcement to the home, where officers met his partner, Megan Elizabeth Hamilton, according to the affidavit.
Hamilton, 31, explained that she could not let troopers inside because of the presence of drugs, troopers said
Police returned to the home the next morning with a warrant and arrested Devereaux. He's charged with 13 offenses, including reckless driving, battery and assault on an officer, and possession of methamphetamine and a new, illegal substance.
Devereaux is currently incarcerated at Pasco Detention Center where his partner has also been taken into custody, according to records.

One person injured in Hollywood neighborhood shooting
One person was taken to the hospital after a shooting early Friday morning in a Hollywood neighborhood. According to police, just before 1:30 a.m. officers were sent to the 1200 block of Hollywood Boulevard, just east of Young Circle, in response to reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. The injured person was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital where they were listed as stable. A SWAT team was called in along with K9 officers. Surveillance video from a home in the area shows an armed man walking through the front yard as he's confronted by police officers. "I was driving home from dinner and my daughter texted me that I should try to get home as soon as possible because there was a guy jumping the fence in our backyard. He somehow managed his way into our front yard. That's where two cops showed up. They had him at gunpoint, he was holding a gun. They were like drop the gun, drop the gun, and I wasn't sure what was happening. I was about five minutes away from home and I saw cops blowing past me," William Castillo said. Police have not said if anyone was taken into custody. The eastbound lanes of Hollywood Boulevard between 12 Avenue and 13 Avenue were closed for the investigation.

K-9 Frankie, killed in the line of duty, honored with statue in Massachusetts
A statue was unveiled over the weekend honoring Frankie, the first and only Massachusetts State Police K-9 to be killed in the line of duty. The statue was dedicated outside of Massachusetts State Police general headquarters in Framingham on Sunday. Frankie was shot and killed in 2022 during a standoff at a home on Oliver Street in Fitchburg. The suspect, who police said was 38-year-old Matthew Mack, died by suicide. Police said at the time that Mack had warrants stemming from a previous shooting. Sergeant David Stucenski, Frankie's handler, was attempting to arrest Mack when he allegedly fired multiple shots toward police. Stucenski was not hurt. Frankie was rushed to Wachusett Animal Hospital in Westminster following the shooting. It was the first medical transport for a police K-9 under Nero's Law, which was passed in response to the death of K-9 Nero, whose handler, Yarmouth Police Sgt. Sean Gannon, was also killed in the line of duty in 2018. Nero's Law allows EMS to treat and transport injury police dogs. Police said in a statement following the status unveiling that the death of the 9-year veteran police dog "forever changed the course of his life, his handler, family, loved ones, and colleagues on the State Police." "This memorial provides an important, dedicated space to celebrate the life of K-9 Frankie and reflect on the enormous contributions of K-9s and their handlers to the mission of the State Police," Col. Geoffrey Noble said in a statement. The statue is located near the main entrance to the building. It was created by artisans from Utah and is a life-size bronze figure of the dog atop a granite base. An anonymous donor to the State Police Association of Massachusetts' Benevolent Fund paid for the statue to be built.

Man, 2 teens charged in Miami carjacking early Sunday morning
Three people have been arrested in connection to an armed carjacking in Miami early Sunday morning, police said. Axel Padilla, 20, and two 15-year-olds have each been charged with armed robbery/carjacking. CBS News Miami is not publishing the names of the teens due to their age. The carjacking happened around 2 a.m. in the area SW 17 Avenue and SW 5 Street. According to police, a couple was sitting in the back seat of a Hyundai Elantra when they were approached by three masked gunmen. After forcibly opening both back doors, the masked males demanded the couple's belongings and keys to the car, according to the arrest report. Fearing for their lives the couple complied. The couple was then ordered out of the car, according to police, who said the gunmen then got in and drove off. While the couple was describing what happened to police officers, they spotted the car heading south on SW 18 Avenue at SW 5 Street. Police then followed the direction the car was headed and found that it had crashed into a building at SW 22 Avenue and SW 4 Street. A witness told them that the three people who had been in the car had run off. A perimeter was set up and a SWAT team and K9 officers were called in. A short time later, Padilla was found hiding near a shed at 2211 SW 5 Street, according to police. When he was taken into custody, officers found the couple's wallets, the car keys and a Glock handgun, the arrest report said. The two teens were found nearby, hiding in the backyard of a home at 2260 SW 4 Street, police said. During questioning, all three admitted to the robbery, according the report.
