He left the club eight years ago to join Blackburn Rovers in a deal worth a cool £1million.
He'd move to Sunderland in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer but would leave the Stadium of Light the following year on a free.
His exit from Wearside paved the way for an emotional return to Gillingham.
Upon the announcement of his return, Dack said: "I can't wait to get going, to be honest.

Football supporters now have a bigger say in how their clubs are run

The Football Governance Act has officially become UK law after receiving royal assent, establishing an independent regulator for English football. This landmark legislation introduces a watchdog for the top five tiers of the men's game, aiming to ensure clubs are run sustainably and are accountable to their supporters. The new regulator will possess 'backstop' powers to impose financial settlements between the English Football League (EFL) and the Premier League if they fail to reach an agreement. The Act's journey to law was prompted by the attempted European Super League breakaway and numerous instances of clubs facing financial distress and mismanagement. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy highlighted that the Act delivers on promises to fans, protecting cherished clubs and their vital role in communities.

Anton, 30, took to his Instagram page to share a reflective post about his "body count" and why he used to be obsessed over the number of people he'd slept with. The Scottish hunk first appeared on Love Island in 2019 when he was coupled up with Belle Hassan and returned for the 2024 All Stars season. He returned to the Love Island villa earlier last year as part of the All Stars cast, where he was famed for some iconic moments including facing off against love rat Mitch Taylor when he told him "be a man, not a boy". In All Stars he coupled up with Georgia Harrison and they placed fifth on the series and continued to date after the show ended before they relationship fizzled out a few weeks later. The couple placed fifth on the All Stars edition of the show earlier in the year. Anton has been linked to many attractive women over the years including new Love Islander Sophie Lee and also Ouzy See, 30, who appeared on the show's tenth series. Since leaving the villa, Anton, has been an open book with fans including experiencing depression after leaving the Love Island villa and losing money in Dubai where he worked as a fitness coach. Anton has now turned his attention to bodybuilding and earlier this year fronted a BBC documentary that explored the growing issue of young men being unhappy with their body shape and whether TV and social media are part of the problem. Last month, Anton explained why he wasn't currently in a relationship. He said on Instagram he wanted to focus on himself and his career. Love Island star strips off completely 'Yes, I went on Love Island. Twice. No, I didn't find love. And no, I'm not crying about it — I'm too busy building an empire and smashing PBs," he wrote. 'Any time I've dated, they've needed more attention than I can give." Anton added: 'They didn't understand the mission. They weren't truly supportive of my journey.' He said: I've been on a few dates but nothing's really come to anything if I'm honest. Georgia and Anton's post-split swipes Just a day after their split was revealed and a source blamed it on the 400 miles between them, Anton shared a quote that said: "If someone truly loves you, distance is not a problem. "It's just the power of making love grow each day." While travelling with his mum in Pisa, Italy, Anton appeared to be looking for the positives in the relationship breakdown. Sharing snaps by the Leaning Tower of Pisa, he wrote: "When things appear to be falling over, step back and see the beauty in it." Most brutally of all, Anton voiced his regret at ever taking part in All Stars. He told fans: "I hated every minute of it. Part of me wishes I had never done it again just because 'cause it kind of ruined my Love Island experience. There were times I just questioned what am I actually doing." Meanwhile, Georgia took to Instagram to share a montage about 'marrying her best friend'. The video showed a couple messing around together, with clips of them singing at a concert, splashing about in a swimming pool and dancing together. The caption said: "Proof you should marry your best friend." Georgia then said: "If it ain't this I don't want it," with laughing emojis, suggesting her latest romance most certainly wasn't that. Days after the relationship ended, Georgia shared a tongue-in-cheek video on TikTok showing her desperately trying to escape any reference to it. Georgia nervously looked over her shoulder and ran through the complex as she was 'chased' by the question "Are you still together?" "It's always difficult dating in the public eye as you never really know people's true intentions. "When it comes, it comes, but there's nothing in the pipeline just yet." 4 Anton said he wants to focus on his career before getting into a relationship Credit: Instagram/@anton_danyluk
