AI reporter sends couple on imaginary adventure

The couple had travelled all the way from Kuala Lumpur, bags packed and spirits high, to ride a cable car they believed soared from Kampung Kuak Hulu in Gerik, Perak, to Baling, Kedah.
Advertisement They casually asked the hotel staff if she had been on it herself and whether the queue was long, expecting local insider tips. Assuming they were joking, she laughed and told them the town was not exactly a cable car hotspot. The elderly woman, however, was having none of it and insisted they had seen the ride on Facebook, complete with a reporter and 'real' interviews. The staff then had to gently explain that the video was AI-generated, and the reporter the woman wanted to sue was, well…imaginary. Apparently, the video is still up on social media, and while seasoned scrollers might spot the fakes, it is easy to be fooled without a trained eye. Tell-tale signs include unnerving robotic stares, eerie smiles, and a reporter oddly dressed for a Swiss ski trip in tropical Malaysia. The imaginary museum with vintage cameras and panoramic views that defy actual geography did not help either. According to Times Now News – an English-language news outlet based in India – which reported on the project on July 3, the dome is the first of its kind in China and uses negative pressure and air filtration systems to prevent dust from escaping into nearby areas. The Bridge Chronicle, a digital news platform, also reported on July 3 that the dome features advanced ventilation systems to ensure good air quality inside it, while transparent panels let in natural sunlight, cutting down on the need for artificial lighting during the day. The platform added that the dome's design allows for quick assembly and dismantling, making it a flexible solution for various construction projects. A viral TikTok video posted by British broadcaster ITV News on July 4 shows the dome being inflated, gradually taking on its tent-like shape as the sun rises and sets in the background. The video shows the dome nestled among several buildings, suggesting the site is in a developed urban zone. The time-lapse clip has since attracted more than 2.6 million views. Viewers of the TikTok video left some colourful and curious reactions. Karmic Kayda joked: 'This is really dangerous because if it gets too big it becomes really soft and a giant might see it and come to take a nap.' TikTok user Amely praised the innovation as 'such a clever way to protect both the environment and the people living nearby'. Nip/Tuck and Charmed actor Julian McMahon dies at 56

His wife, Kelly, announced his death Friday in a statement to the website Deadline. Advertisement Born in Sydney in 1968, McMahon initially worked as a model before moving to acting in television, first in Australia and later in the United States. He made a name for himself playing Cole Turner, a demon in the fantasy television series "Charmed", which ran from 2000 to 2005. "I'm heartbroken," series co-star Alyssa Milano wrote on Instagram after he died in Florida. "Losing him feels unreal. Too soon. Too unfair. Rest, my friend. I'll carry your laugh with me," she added. McMahon was nominated for an Emmy in 2005 for "Nip/Tuck" (2003-2010), another hit US series, in which he played an unscrupulous plastic surgeon. Producers Warner Bros. Television released a brief statement on Facebook paying tribute to his work on the series. Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne bids farewell with Black Sabbath reunion

The legendary rocker told thousands of heavy metal enthusiasts at Villa Park, Birmingham – a stone's throw from where Black Sabbath was formed in 1968 – that it was "so good to be on this stage" as he performed his last set from a large black throne. Advertisement Osbourne and his fellow original Black Sabbath members – Tony Iommi, Terence "Geezer" Butler and Bill Ward – were the last to appear on stage as part of a star-studded line-up for the Back to the Beginning concert. Among the bands performing were Anthrax, Metallica and Guns N' Roses, and there were messages of thanks from other celebrities, including Jack Black, Ricky Gervais and Dolly Parton. Osbourne – who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019 – plans to continue to record music, but said that the concert marked the end for him performing live.
