Home of Philadelphia 76ers, Flyers lands naming rights deal with Xfinity Mobile
The arena will be renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena, effective Sept. 1 and running through the 2030-2031 season.
Banking giant Wells Fargo announced last year that it
would not renew its deal
with building owner and operator Comcast Spectacor — the parent company of the Flyers — when it expires in August.
Financial terms were not announced. Wells Fargo paid a reported
$1.4 million annually
as part of the naming rights deal.
The arena, originally named CoreStates Center, opened in 1996 and has been the home to Philly sports stars like Allen Iverson, Eric Lindros and Joel Embiid, as well as NCAA Tournament games. The building has carried a number of names, including the First Union Center in 1998 and Wachovia Center in 2003. Wells Fargo bought out Wachovia and posted its name on the roughly 21,000-seat building in 2010.
Comcast Spectacor last year completed a $400 million renovation project of the Wells Fargo Center.
The 76ers earlier this year announced they would partner with Comcast Spectacor, their current landlord, to build a new arena in South Philadelphia and
abandon a deal
with the city to move downtown. Comcast will own the naming rights to the arena being developed via a joint venture between HBSE and Comcast Spectacor, set to open in the 2031-2032 season.

Sixers re-sign Philadelphia native Justin Edwards to 3 year contract
The Philadelphia 76ers re-signed Philly native Justin Edwards on Sunday, president of basketball operations Daryl Morey announced. Edwards, a 6-foot-7 forward, signed a three-year, $7 million deal, according to Spotrac. "Justin's growth and versatility were on full display last season as a rookie, and we're excited to see his progression continue in a 76ers uniform," Morey said in a statement. "His natural shooting ability combined with his athleticism and defensive toughness make him very valuable to what we as an organization are trying to accomplish both now and in the future." Edwards is currently playing on the Sixers' Salt Lake Summer League team in Utah. On Saturday night, Edwards scored 13 points and corralled three rebounds in a 93-89 loss against the Utah Jazz. Edwards joined the Sixers on a two-way contract in 2024 as an undrafted free agent. He was later signed to a standard NBA contract in February after gaining more playing time as the Sixers struggled to stay healthy in the 2024-25 season. Edwards played 44 games last season, including 26 starts, and averaged 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and shot 45.5% from the field. He also shot 36.3% on 3-pointers. Edwards scored a career-high 25 points twice last season in games against the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs. He reached double-digit scoring 21 times. Edwards' best stretch of the 2024-25 season came during March 17-26, where he went six straight games scoring at least 18 points. Before joining the Sixers and his lone season at the University of Kentucky, Edwards was a 2023 McDonald's All-American at Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia. Edwards was a five-star recruit and helped lead Imhotep to two Pennsylvania State championships in his junior and senior seasons.

Daryl Morey gives statement on Sixers re-signing Justin Edwards
The Philadelphia 76ers made it official on Sunday with the re-signing of second-year forward Justin Edwards. The Sixers brought him back on a 3-year deal after he produced good numbers and overall play as an undrafted rookie. Edwards averaged 10.1 points and 3.4 rebounds with 1.6 assists while shooting 45.5% from the floor and 36.3% from deep in 44 games with 26 starts. He was brought in initially on a two-way deal and the Sixers then declined his team option and brought him back on a better deal. Advertisement 'Justin's growth and versatility were on full display last season as a rookie, and we're excited to see his progression continue in a 76ers uniform,' said President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey via a press release. 'His natural shooting ability combined with his athleticism and defensive toughness make him very valuable to what we as an organization are trying to accomplish both now and in the future.' Morey and his staff have an eye for talent as they have put together a strong team every year. Edwards and the Sixers will look to bounce back from a 24-58 season in which injuries decimated any chance of competing and contending for a championship. BTN analyst shares positive remarks on Michigan State hoops entering next season
One Big Ten Network basketball analyst seems to be pretty high on the Spartans heading into next season. Former Purdue Boilermaker and current Big Ten Network analyst Rapheal Davis shared some positive remarks on the Spartans for next season this week. Davis took to social media platform X to note he's expecting big things from Coen Carr, Jeremy Fears Jr. and Carson Cooper this upcoming season. Here's the exact post on X from Davis: This is the first time this offseason that Davis has provided positive insight on the Spartans from his point of view. He recently was praising the growth he was hearing for Carr and has also previously said he's expecting a breakout season for Fears. Michigan State is coming off a Big Ten championship winning season, where they also reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The Spartans, though, lost a number of key contributors off last year's team, including Jaden Akins, Jase Richardson and Tre Holloman. It's clear Davis is high on Michigan State entering next season and would assume he'd consider them a solid value pick to make some noise in the Big Ten. It'll be interesting to see if Carr, Fears and Cooper can live up to this hype this season, and truly elevate their game to lead the Spartans to another strong year on the hardwood.
