Amazon Lists Early Prime Day Streaming Service Subscription Deals
Amazon is giving users an early shot at subscribing to several different streaming services through the platform ahead of Prime Day 2025.
Prime Day, of course, is more than one day, as it runs this year from Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11. In addition to the plethora of discounted items the online retailer is offering, Amazon is also offering deep discounts to streaming services available through the platform's Prime Video service.
Of course, to access any of the Prime Day deals on Amazon — whether they be for early sales or sales listings when the event launches on Tuesday — you must be a Amazon subscriber. Amazon Prime subscriptions are available for $14.99 per month or $139 per year, which includes access to Prime Video.
Access to the early Prime Day deals for subscriptions can be found in the Prime Video section of Amazon. As of this publication, Amazon's early Prime Day deals are being offered for the following subscription services for $0.99 per month for 2 months:

In addition to discounts to streaming services on Prime Video, Amazon's early Prime Day deals include deep discounts to some hit movies available for digital purchase.
Among the titles are A Minecraft Movie for $8.99 (normally $19.99), Captain America: Brave New World for $9.99 (normally $19.99), Dog Man for $7.99 (normally $19.99), Drop for $9.99 (normally $24.99) and Hurry Up Tomorrow for $10.99 (normally $14.99).
All early Prime Day deals are for a limited time only, Amazon noted.
Amazon's Prime Day 2025 event runs Tuesday through Friday.

Jeff Williams, Apple's Chief Operating Officer, to Retire After 27 Years
Jeff Williams, Apple's chief operating officer and Tim Cook's longtime lieutenant, is retiring after spending two and a half decades turning the company into an operational machine, capable of making more than 200 million iPhones a year at low prices that allowed the company to rake in tremendous profits. Mr. Cook will assume oversight for other divisions Mr. Williams ran, including Apple's design, watch and health teams. 'Jeff and I have worked alongside each other for as long as I can remember, and Apple wouldn't be what it is without him,' Mr. Cook said in a statement. 'He's helped to create one of the most respected global supply chains in the world; launched Apple Watch and overseen its development; architected Apple's health strategy; and led our world class team of designers with great wisdom, heart and dedication.' During his 27 years at Apple, Mr. Williams played a leading role in building the company's supply chain. He helped line up some of its most important and enduring suppliers, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, which makes Apple's cutting-edge chips, and Corning Inc., which makes iPhone glass. After failing to sell for $20 million a few years ago, a red brick mansion that dates to the Gilded Age on Long Island's Gold Coast is hitting the auction block. Swan Manor has been owned by the Miracle Mop creator Joy Mangano since 2000, but she's once again trying to part ways with the nine-acre Nissequogue estate. Originally designed by the renowned architect Stanford White back in 1917, few of his elegant details remain. Today, the extensively modernized main house and its outbuildings total a whopping 22,000 square feet, and it's going up for auction with Concierge Auctions and Kyle Roskot of the Agency, with starting bids expected from $4 million to $7 million. Mangano also recently listed the home for $12 million, and it could still sell for that price before hammering down. That drops the price down to $299.99, or $100 off its usual retail price, making it an impressive deal on a battery-powered TV that's designed to be taken outdoors. Back in the day -- we're talking 40 years ago -- portable TVs were a big thing. That's when people would tune into over-the-air signals with a Sony Watchman and watch whatever local TV stations were broadcasting. But with smartphones, tablets and laptops now able to stream content wirelessly, including live TV from apps like YouTube TV and many other services, a portable TV seems like something of a novelty. However, when you start streaming, the picture does appear to be 1080p. You just aren't going to get inky blacks. But it is a matte screen that cuts down on the glare and has a relatively wide viewing angle. The TV is designed to be taken outdoors, though it has no water resistance rating, so you wouldn't want to leave it out in the rain. (Sylvox makes a 15.6-inch portable TV that's apparently waterproof, but it's considerably smaller than this TV). There's a mini soundbar in the base -- Skyworth says the TV is equipped with Dolby Audio -- that can play pretty loud, but the dynamic range is a little narrow. That's a polite way of saying there isn't a whole lot of bass. But again, for casual viewing, it does the job and you could connect a better speaker to it if you wanted to you. You could also connect a streaming device like a Roku 4K Streaming Stick to it. David Carnoy/CNET Screwed into the back of TV is a handle made out of faux leather for carrying the TV, which is fairly lightweight at 11 pounds. Skyworth also sells a carrying case for it, which is also currently on sale for $50. Is this a better option than a portable monitor? In some ways, yes. First off, this is bigger than most portable monitors, and to reiterate, the key feature here is the integrated battery (alas, it doesn't appear to be replaceable), so you can view the TV wherever you want (for 2 to 3 hours anyway). I used it on my home Wi-Fi but also connected the TV to my phone's hot spot when I was outside, and it worked fine streaming content. True, it's significantly more expensive than many portable monitors, but the use case for a portable monitor tends to be different.
