Congress enacting political drama over BC reservations: BJP chief
Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President N. Ramchander Rao accused the Congress party of staging a political drama over the issue of Backward Classes (BC) reservations. He alleged that the Congress was deliberately misleading the public by taking the matter to Delhi, taking out a Rail Yatra, and organizing a protest at Jantar Mantar. On Monday, Rao questioned the rationale behind the Congress's agitation, pointing out that it was the same party that had made the Kamareddy Declaration promising 42% reservations for BCs. He noted that the BJP had unconditionally supported the bill in the State Assembly and asked why the Congress was now creating unnecessary commotion. 'This drama in Delhi shows that the Congress has no intention of implementing BC reservations in the upcoming local body elections,' he said. He expressed concern over the lack of transparency regarding the ordinance, stating, 'The State government had issued an ordinance, and we don't know what was in it.' A copy was sent to the State Governor. Rao further criticized the state government's decision, reportedly marking a copy of the ordinance to the President of India, calling it unprecedented and unconstitutional. 'Ordinance approval is the prerogative of the Governor. Sending it to the President raises serious questions. Does it happen anywhere in the country that any state government makes a copy of its ordinance to the President of India, he asked. Rao also alleged that the Congress was attempting to introduce 10% Muslim reservations within the 42% BC quota, thereby attempting to harm the original BC reservations. He said that the BJP has raised this issue. However, the State government has no answer to it, nor has it given any explanation on the same. 'Congress has done too much and caused enough damage to the country,' and asserted that the people of Telangana would see through the Congress' 'game plan' and 'gimmicks,' which he claimed would not be taken seriously by the public.

Congress enacting a ‘drama' in Delhi for BCs: BJP
Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao has questioned the Congress's plan to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to seek Centre's support for the 42% BC quota for the local body polls and termed it as a 'drama' on Monday. In a press statement, Mr. Rao has pointed out that it is the Congress which has promised the quota for the BC before the Assembly elections and when the Bill was introduced in the Legislative Assembly it was supported by the BJP conditionally. 'So, how does the Centre come into the picture? Why blame the Centre when issuing an ordinance is the Governor's prerogative? Where is the need to mark the ordinance copy to the President? Does it happen? These are all gimmicks by the ruling party to avoid holding local body polls and even give quota to the BC especially with 10% of it being accorded to the Muslims,' he said. The BJP president said the Congress only intends to make some 'noise' in Delhi but is confident that the people of the country and Telangana are well aware of the damage being done to the country and hence will not take these acts seriously. Meanwhile, the party president will be conducting a two-day tour to Peddapalli and Mancherial districts on Tuesday and Wednesday to hold meetings with the party cadre and also meet professionals from several fields. In a separate press conference, general secretary K. Venkateswarlu said BRS MLC K. Kavitha has no locus standi to take up any agitation for the sake of BC when the government led by her father and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao did nothing while they were in power for 10 years. 'It is shameful that she is speaking about BC quota when KCR had in fact reduced it to 22% from 34%. She never worked for the sake of BCs either as MP or MLC. She is now speaking out of frustration due to property fights in the family and her own party leaders had begun to criticise her,' he said.

Subsequent revised administrative approvals (RAA I and II) led to a drastic and unjustified increase in costs. The Commission notes that completion certificates were issued despite incomplete and defective work, and that there was collusion between contractors and government officials, leading to massive losses to the public lapses in operation and maintenance were also highlighted. The Commission found that there were no inspections or safety checks and that water was impounded continuously in violation of engineering norms, contributing to the structural distress seen at Medigadda. The project also used unsafe permeable foundations for water storage and ignored geotechnical study requirements, with quality checks allegedly addition to KCR, the Commission has named several other key officials.
