Maik Nawrocki Celtic exit agreed as defender ‘completes medical' ahead of season-long loan

Scottish Sun4 hours ago
CELTIC defender Maik Nawrocki is reportedly on the verge of joining Hannover 96 on loan, with an option to make the move permanent.
The centre-back has struggled to make an impact at the Hoops since joining from Legia Warsaw in 2023 in a £4million move.

The 24-year-old played just handful of times for Brendan Rodgers' side last season, including in the 3-2 defeat to Rangers at Celtic Park.
Now he looks set to bring his time at the club to an end, according to Sky Sports Germany.
German journalist Florian Plettenberg says the transfer "is a done deal", with Nawrocki joining Hannover, who play in Bundesliga.2.
He says the medical is complete, the last paperwork is finalised and an announcement will be made soon.

Joe Rothwell reveals Rangers phone call from Russell Martin that made him drop everything and say 'I'll be right there'

The midfielder didn't have to think twice about reuniting with his old boss at Ibrox. Joe Rothwell has backed new Rangers gaffer Russell Martin to unite the Ibrox club and get them on the trophy trail again. The English midfielder, who joined from Bournemouth, has previously worked with Martin at Southampton. ‌ He says Martin has a knack of bringing clubs together and insists - if players and staff buy into his philosophy - he'll bring success to Rangers. ‌ The 30-year-old achieved promotion to the Premier League at Saints with Martin in charge. And he's convinced that if he's allowed to implement his style at Ibrox - it will lead to silverware. Rothwell said: 'The manager was obviously a big factor in me coming here. "There was a bit of interest before he got the job but as soon as I found out he was getting it - he gave me a call and I told him I'd be straight there. "He sees the game how I would see it if I was a manager. That was the main pull. But it's more about how he is as a guy. "You want to come and work for him, for the stuff he does off the pitch as well. The manager treats everyone the same - there is no-one better than anyone else. He's really good at bringing clubs back together and creating a fantastic bond. ‌ "I think if you want to win things, it starts off the pitch. So if he can get everyone buying into the same thing here, I think he can create a really successful time at Rangers. "You can see from the outside how huge this club is. It's built to win trophies and hopefully - if the manager implements how he wants to do things - it can be really successful. Hopefully we can go on and win things." Rothwell signed a three-year deal at Ibrox and is one of Martin's key signings as he embarks on a Rangers rebuild. ‌ He revealed that chats with the club's new American owners helped convince him to move to Glasgow. Rothwell said: "I'm delighted to be here. It took a little bit longer than I'd have liked to get here but I'm pleased that it's finally done. "With the new ownership, it's really exciting here. They spoke to me about where they see the club going and what they want to achieve. I wanted to be a part of that." ‌ You can get all the news you need on our dedicated Rangers and Celtic pages, and sign up to our newsletters to make sure you never miss a beat throughout the season.
