The New Jersey-born teen, who trains in Florida, was just one out of the main draw, but said he wouldn't change a thing about playing the qualifiers. 'Everything is connected, so maybe playing the qualifying draw was a good thing, and maybe the reason why I'm here right now,' he said. Karki, whose family home is in East Brunswick, New Jersey, took to tennis because his father Trilok started playing the sport when he lived in New York with his wife Kanchan. 'New Steve Bucknor': Umpire Paul Reiffel Blasted As Fans Vent Ire On Social Media

Last Updated: Quality of umpiring in the ongoing Lord's Test between India and England is being criticised after several wrong calls. There's been an uproar on social media following the turn of events on the penultimate day of the Lord's Test between India and England. There was plenty of on-field drama with the two teams trading punches on an eventful day as 14 wickets fell with the contest on knife's edge. India need 135 runs to win with six wickets remaining on a pitch that is assisting the bowlers. At stumps, KL Rahul was carrying India's hopes, unbeaten on 33 with Akash Deep being cleaned up by Ben Stokes off what became the final delivery of an absorbing day. The quality of umpiring has become the center of attention after a spate of poor decisions including a glaring caught-behind decision given against India captain Shubman Gill that left him surprised. Gill attempted a drive off a full delivery from Brydon Carse and missed it before the English fielders including the bowler went up in a confident appeal for a caught-behind. Umpire Paul Reiffel didn't take much time raising the finger. Gill quickly reviewed and as replay showed, there was daylight between bat and ball with the UltraEdge expectedly not registering any noise. The decision resulted in several users on X (formerly Twitter) lashing out at Reiffel over his decision making with few alleging he's been biased towards the home side. It was just the latest in a series of dubious decisions that Reiffel was responsible for including a not out LBW decision given in favour of Joe Root with the England batter surviving on umpire's call after India's review. A few even labelled him as the new 'Steve Bucknor'. Paul Reifell is literally the worst umpire 😤 #Eng — dhenndhdjd (@abcdef2649) July 13, 2025 Paul Reifell was a very good cricketer! He is a very poor umpire #Pistol @ICC — Barney Girnun (@barneygirnun) July 13, 2025 Justice served… Paul Reifel is another Steve Bucknor… Root gone !india will still win… 5 more needed folks. — Gurmeet Chadha (@connectgurmeet) July 13, 2025 3rd Test Nicely Poised The five-Test series, being played for the newly minted Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, is currently locked at one-all and the winner of the third contest set to take the lead. England started the series with a six-wicket win in Leeds before India's remarkable reply at Edgbaston as they completed a historic 336-run win to pull themselves on level terms. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Scott Boland of Australia (Photo by) Australian fast bowler Scott Boland has secured his place in cricket history by achieving the best bowling average for Test cricketers since 1915, with a minimum of 2000 balls bowled in Test matches. This milestone was reached during the third Test against the West Indies at Sabina Park, where he recorded figures of 3-34, establishing a Test bowling average of 17.33.
