Anna Camp Reacts to Flood of Attention After Coming Out, Revealing Girlfriend Jade Whipkey (Exclusive)
The actress went red-carpet official with her girlfriend Jade Whipkey earlier this year, surprising some fans who did not know she is part of the LGBTQ+ community—which is not something Anna anticipated. Before presenting an award at the 2025 Mediterrane Film Festival's Golden Bee Awards on Sunday night, Anna reflected on the noise.
'We're definitely surprised by all of the attention, to be totally honest,' Anna told Cosmopolitan on the red carpet. 'We've been a bit surprised by all of the hubbub, but there's been a lot of support so we're very grateful and thankful for everybody who is supportive of us. It's lovely.'
Anna and Jade walked their first red carpet together last month during the Los Angeles premiere of Anna's new movie, Bride Hard, after sparking romance rumors a month earlier when Jade posted a picture of Anna on her Instagram.
'We're so happy together, Anna said. 'It's just been such a wonderful, transformative time in my life. I'm so thankful to have her by my side.'
Also on her side? Anna's costar Rebel Wilson, with whom she shared the screen in the Pitch Perfect series and their new comedy, Bride Hard. 'Rebel and I go back so many years—something like 14 years, we've known each other—and she's been the most supportive out of everyone of me coming out.'
Rebel and Anna reunited on screen as best friends in Bride Hard, and the experience was as fun behind-the-scenes as fans might guess.
'It was one of the best experiences because we know each other so well, and we get each other's comedy, and also we were playing best friends in the movie,' Anna told Cosmo. 'To have that chemistry already there, it made it very natural for us to be doing that together. I think people are enjoying it. It's just a fun, silly comedy that you can go watch in the summer and just laugh your friends.'

Anna and Jade walked the red carpet together at the 2025 Mediterrane Film Festival's Golden Bee Awards in Malta, where Russell Crowe, Barbie Ferreira, and others in the filmmaking community were honored.
'I've heard about this festival for a few years. I know it's relatively new, but the passion behind it—with many productions shooting here!—makes it a wonderful place to celebrate,' Anna said. 'Malta celebrates filmmaking. The festival has provided a very fun and creative environment for everybody to meet and greet, shake hands, and hopefully make more movies—and make more movies in Malta.'

Shedd Aquarium names newest otter rescue after her California roots
No, she isn't green. Well, not her coat anyways. The newest addition to Shedd Aquarium's rescued sea otters officially has a name: Jade. The aquarium revealed the name Monday in a news release after a public vote. Winning over three other handpicked options, 'Jade' pays homage to Jade Cove south of Monterey, California, near where the otter was rescued. 'The rescued raft of sea otters serves as important ambassadors, connecting Chicagoans to coastlines and kelp forests that often feel far away, and we know how critical it is to connect on a personal level to care about it,' Andrea Oake, manager of sea otters and sea lions at Shedd Aquarium, said in a news release. The name reveal was the culmination of a five-day onsite vote in front of the aquarium's otter exhibit in the Abbott Oceanarium, spokesperson Kayley Galassini said. With voting open from June 20 through June 25, more than 2,000 votes were cast for their favorite otter-ly appropriate name. Guests picked from a list of choices provided by caretakers at Shedd, Galassini said. Other options included: Esa, for the Endangered Species Act; Marina, for the city where Jade was rescued; and Rey, for the Monterey Bay area. Jade was rescued on a beach in Marina, California, by the Monterey Bay Aquarium in June 2022, Shedd officials said. At rescue, Jade was estimated to be about 2 weeks old, and experts determined that the combination of rough sea conditions and low fog made it unlikely for her to reunite with her mother in the wild. In turn, she stayed at Monterey Bay Aquarium with around-the-clock care for six weeks before moving to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California. Jade arrived at Shedd on May 1. She'll be raised in Chicago until she's mature enough to potentially become a surrogate mother as part of Monterey Bay Aquarium's sea otter surrogacy program, an initiative Shedd has partnered with the California institution on for more than two years. Monterey Bay's surrogacy program uses non-releasable female sea otters as surrogate mothers to raise stranded dependent pups for return to the wild, the institution says. Aquarium of the Pacific joined the venture in 2020. And since 2022, Shedd has played a role in the program too, providing a temporary home for non-releasable female sea otters poised to one day return to California to raise rescued, orphaned pups, the aquarium said. The cross-country partnership started in October 2022, when Shedd took in two female otter pups from California — Willow and Suri. For more than two years, they grew up at Shedd. But on April 30, the pair were taken back to California to mother orphaned otter pups, according to Galassini. Shedd took in Jade with the intent of her following in Willow and Suri's footsteps. Jade has met several of Shedd's other rescued otters, which the aquarium in a news release said is a 'significant step in socialization as she continues to acclimate.' 'Our animal care team is happy with how well she's acclimated, and we're having a lot of fun getting to know her; she is very inquisitive but also calm and confident,' Oake, of Shedd, said in a statement. 'Guests might spot her wrapped up in her favorite enrichment item of carwash strips that mimics kelp or carrying smaller balls on her chest, or sometimes she's diving and leaping around the strips.'

Everything To Know About The Long Bob Cut—Plus The Best Inspo Pics
Unless you've been living on planet Mars for the past century, you would have heard of the bob haircut. You know, the chin-length 'do that celebs like Lily Collins are best known for sporting—oh, and the one that's been around since the 1900s with many an iteration. We've seen everything from the bottleneck bob to the French bob, but one style that's, arguably, less intimidating than the super short cut and more wearable is the long bob—aka, the lob. But what defines a long bob? And what face shapes are best suited to the style? Well, we consulted professional hairstylist Jordanna Cobella, who shared her expertise on everything to know about the lob. Keep reading for your most asked questions, answered! A long bob or lob is, as expected, longer than a traditional bob; specifically, it falls between the chin and shoulder, and, as Jordanna says, "offers a more versatile and softer alternative to traditional short bobs." Continuing, Jordanna says: "It can be worn blunt with a sharp edge (no layers) and almost all one length for a striking finish. That or it can be cut, feathered, and textured, with shattered layers for a more effortless finish with movement." Firstly, whatever hairstyle you want, you should get; at Cosmo we don't like subscribing to the idea that you've got to have a certain look just because you have a specific face shape or hair type. That said, the beauty of a long bob is that it works for nearly all face shapes, so we're all winners here! If you have a round face, Jordanna says that the lob "can elongate your features, making it appear more oval. "For those with square faces, soft layers around the face soften angular features. And if you have an oval face, you're lucky because you can rock a lob in almost any form." And the same goes for texture and hair type, too. If you've got thicker, curlier hair and want to lift off some weight, opt for a layered bob, whereas if you have thinner locks, a blunter cut will add the illusion of fuller strands. As Jordanna tells us, whenever going to the hairdressers for a new look, you should be super clear about the length you want; this is the pièce de résistance, so it's got to be right! So, come prepared with inspiration pics galore—like the ones in this article... wink, nudge. "Visually show your hairdresser where you want the bob to sit when it's dry (hair shrinks when dry, so this will not match the length when it's wet). Ask your stylist to leave enough length so you can wear it straight, curled, or wavy, so it's versatile," explains Jordanna. You can also ask for a more modern, asymmetrical take on the lob if you're after something a little different. This style is defined by an uneven length, often with the back being shorter than the front, as Margot Robbie so perfectly demonstrates below. Low-maintenance girlies, listen up because Jordanna says that a long bob is all about effortless styling. Hallelujah! "You can keep it sleek and straight for a polished look, or add some waves and lived-in kinks for that beachy vibe," she says. For more volume, try a root-lifting spray and scrunch it with your fingers. You can also create a slightly tousled, lived-in texture with a salt spray, scrunch, and diffuser. Above all, a long bob is the perfect style for those looking for a healthy-looking yet stress-free style. Your grown-out bob just got a little more intentional!
