Honor MagicPad 3 teaser video shows off 13.3" 165Hz LCD, big battery and IMAX Enhanced label
The July 2 event is getting closer by the day and Honor has been posting more teasers for the upcoming devices. We have already seen images of the Honor MagicPad 3, a premium 13.3' tablet, but now the company's Weibo account has posted a video too. Honor MagicPad 3
The video goes over most of the same specs that we already know, starting with the 13.3' LCD with '3.2K' resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. Stylus support is featured prominently. The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 12,450mAh battery.

Four years ago, Honor partnered with IMAX and this tablet reaps the benefits – you can see the 'IMAX Enhanced' label in the video. The video also confirms that a keyboard cover is on the way. The tablet will be available in three colorways. And it will have tons of AI features.
In addition to the MagicPad 3, Honor will also unveil its new flagship foldable – the Honor Magic V5, which is going for the 'thinnest horizontal foldable' crown, a slim Honor MagicBook Art 14 2025 laptop and potentially a surprise or two. Promo images for the event also show the Honor Watch 5 Ultra and the Honor EarBuds Open, but those were announced a while back (maybe Honor has a new revision in store).

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 sold me on foldables before the foldable iPhone could
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, coming out next month on the 9th, has changed that. The crease on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. | Image credit — PhoneArena So, why don't I like foldable phones? Simple: the crease. I've always said that a display should be free of any distractions, and I will never forgive Apple for popularizing the notch. Yes, yes, I know they didn't do it first, but you bet everyone rushed to copy them when the iPhone added it. foldable phone Fold 7 The thing that really sold me, however, is when I found out that the Fold 7 is only 8.9 mm when folded. Honor's Magic V5, currently the slimmest foldable in the world, is 8.8 mm when folded. Yeah, there's barely a difference of 0.1 mm here. If Samsung has improved that much over the 12.1 mm of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, then I think that it's finally time to give the company's foldable flagships a try. Because now it really feels like Samsung has pulled all the stops and made a phone worth considering. A leaked render of the Fold 7, showing off its slim side profile. | Image credit — Evan Blass I'd completely abandoned hope of Samsung making a worthy foldable smartphone. All bets were now on Apple, who, despite their many recent goofs, might just deliver a crease-free foldable iPhone . Fold 7 foldable iPhone

Galaxy Z Fold 7 competitor confirms camera boost right before the big launch
There is a new foldable coming from Honor and it is landing just days before Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7. This one is shaping up to be a serious contender and now we are getting a clearer look at what kind of camera system it is bringing to the table. Honor is teasing the upcoming Honor Magic V5, which will reclaim the title of world's thinnest foldable phone – a title, previously held by the Magic V3 and currently by the Oppo Find N5. But let's not focus on thinness this time around (even though, let's be real, thin is in and everyone's fighting hard for those last few millimeters). What is more exciting is that Honor has confirmed the Magic V5 will feature a 64 MP periscope telephoto camera, clearing up earlier rumors that wavered between a 50 MP or 64 MP sensor. This camera will include OIS and even support telephoto macro photography, which could make it one of the more versatile shooters among foldables. That means you can look forward to clearer and more stable zoomed-in photos. Plus, with telephoto macro support, you'll be able to take detailed close-up pictures that show all the little things – perfect for capturing fine details up close. Honor confirmed a 64 MP telephoto camera. | Image credit – Honor As for the rest of the camera setup, it is expected to include a 50 MP main camera and a 50 MP ultra-wide – so a solid triple combo. To compare, its biggest current rival, the vivo X Fold 5, which just launched in China, comes with a 50 MP main, 50 MP telephoto and 50 MP ultra-wide setup. Meanwhile, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, launching July 9, is expected to offer a different flavor with a 200 MP main, 10 MP telephoto and 12 MP ultra-wide. Which one will deliver the best results? That is still up in the air, but once we get our hands on these phones, we'll be able to tell for sure. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 camera: All you need to know Camera talk aside, the Honor Magic V5 is launching July 2 and it is expected to pack a huge 6,100mAh battery – just 100mAh more than the vivo X Fold 5, but way ahead of the 4,400mAh reportedly coming with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 . So yeah, Honor definitely has the upper hand here in the battery department. Galaxy Z Fold 7 Battery and Charging: What to expect And, like I mentioned earlier, the Magic V5 will also be the thinnest of them all, coming in at 8.8mm when folded. Sure, the difference is barely a millimeter or two compared to the others, but it still shows how far the tech has come – a sign of how competition keeps pushing the bar higher. Under the hood, the Magic V5 is expected to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, the same chip expected in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and a step up from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powering vivo's foldable. So overall, they are all playing in the same high-end space when it comes to performance, features and even design (at least on paper), which makes choosing between them that much harder. But let's be honest – in the US, the decision might already be made for you. As good as the Honor Magic V5 and vivo X Fold 5 might be in some areas, Samsung is still the only one making its foldables available stateside. So unless that changes, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will probably be the one most people end up with. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! Official teaser by Honor puts an end to conflicting reports about the Magic V5's telephoto camera
Honor will unveil the Magic V5 on July 2 at an event in China, and it has already shown us the phone's design, which reveals that the smartphone will sport triple cameras on the rear. One of them is the periscope telephoto unit, and there have been conflicting reports about the sensor it uses, with some claiming it is 50MP and others claiming it is 64MP. Well, Honor has finally put an end to that discussion with the latest Magic V5 teaser, which confirms the foldable will feature a 64MP periscope telephoto camera. Additionally, Honor confirmed that the 64MP periscope telephoto camera will have OIS and support telephoto macro photography. Honor Magic V5 will feature a 64MP periscope telephoto camera Honor previously revealed that the Magic V5 would be 8.8mm thick when folded but is yet to detail the specs sheet. However, if rumors are to be believed, the Honor Magic V5 will come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, a 7.95" folding display, a 6.45" cover screen, and a 6,100 mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The Magic V5 will have two selfie cameras, both reportedly using 20MP sensors, while the 64MP periscope telephoto camera is said to be accompanied by two 50MP units (primary and ultrawide).
