Are these 4 New York Giants the team's Mt. Rushmore since 2000?

The New York Giants have a long and storied history, over 100 years worth to be precise. They have had great Hall of Fame players and coaches along the way, but who stands out in the 21st century? The folks at Bleacher Report recently released their versions of each NFL team's Mt. Rushmore since 2000. They chose these four players for the Giants: running back Tiki Barber, quarterback Eli Manning, guard Chris Snee, and defensive end Michael Strahan. The New York Giants didn't have a 2000s dynasty like the Patriots, but they won two Super Bowls over New England and had one of the easier Mt. Rushmores to construct. Players like David Diehl, Justin Tuck, Amani Toomer and Victor Cruz were notable, but New York had four legitimate headliners. All admirable picks, and all four have been enshrined in the team's Ring of Honor. Strahan has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, while Barber and Manning have yet to get the call. Snee was a four-time Pro Bowler who started 141 games over 10 seasons and was the anchor on the offensive line in both Super Bowl victories. If we were to make any substitutions, it would be here. You can make a strong argument that Snee's father-in-law, Tom Coughlin, could be on the Mount. Coughlin coached the Giants to two Super Bowl championships and had an 8-3 record in the postseason. His 102 victories are second all-time among Giants' head coaches (Steve Owen, 153).

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah weighs in on the Kansas City Chiefs' 2025 schedule

The Kansas City Chiefs are attempting to make their fourth consecutive trip to the Super Bowl in 2025. NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah appeared as a guest on 'The Rich Eisen Show' to share his thoughts on their chances in the new season. "I'm looking at that schedule, and I'm looking at the Baltimore Ravens; that is a really good football team right there. I'm not saying they're going to lose all of these games, but when you look on there, and you see Baltimore and Detroit (Lions) and Buffalo (Bills), two games with Denver (Broncos) and (Los Angeles) Chargers always play them tough," said Jeremiah. "Gosh, you're going to go play on Thanksgiving and on Christmas; those are short weeks. I don't know. To me, they're going to be a playoff team, and they're going to be a 12-plus-win team. I just thought 15-2, I couldn't get to 15-2. They feel more like a 12-5 type team to me." The Chiefs will play seven prime-time games in 2025, the most of any team in the NFL. Their Week 1 game in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers is another unique aspect of their journey. Kansas City won a franchise record 15 games in 2024 and went undefeated at home during the regular season and playoffs.

Not Even Taylor Swift Can Steal 'America's Team' Title From Cowboys

Not Even Taylor Swift Can Steal 'America's Team' Title From Cowboys originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - Make no mistake, it's good to have Taylor Swift on your side. And the Kansas City Chiefs have - in so many delightful ways - "weaponized'' her fandom, the result of her romantic relationship with tight end Travis Kelce. Advertisement Nevertheless... No matter what the internet might claim, "America's Team'' - on the Fourth of July and every other day of the year - is still the Dallas Cowboys. Forever. The Kansas City Chiefs are most everything a franchise should aspire to be. They win at the highest level. They've built something special with Patrick Mahomes and coach Andy Reid and, of course, the future Hall of Famer Kelce. And in the last couple of years, they have benefited from the added attention that came with Swift's involvement. The dating life, the presence at games -- it's all a marketing dream for that team and for the NFL. Advertisement But "America's Team'' is not a transferable title. It doesn't shift from city to city depending on who wins the Super Bowl. (By the way, if it did, "America's Team'' would be the Philadelphia Eagles... and good God nobody wants that.) What shifts from city to city is called the "Lombardi Trophy.'' Dallas became "America's Team'' because of success and visibility and marketing, with NFL Films in the late-70's having recognized this and then coining the phrase. Coach Tom Landry hated it. It put a bullseye on his Cowboys. The bullseye remains. And so does the nickname. No matter what. The Cowboys went 7–10 last year and still averaged more viewers per game than almost anyone else in football. Still packed prime-time slots. Still sold merchandise. Still owned headlines. Advertisement And they did it without a global pop star helping to boost the signal. The Thanksgiving Day matchup last year featuring the Cowboys and Giants? 38.8 million viewers, peaking at 41.3 million — the most-watched NFL game of the entire regular season. And that will happen again this year. It's why the NFL's Game 1 is Dallas vs. Philly. It's why this season's Thanksgiving game - KC at Dallas - will likely set new records. It's about branding. And Jerry Jones has no intention of ever letting that slip away. If Taylor Swift shows up at this year's Chiefs-at-Cowboys Thanksgiving game, which will allow both franchises to bask in her glow? Advertisement The "America's Team'' debate will rage again. But the facts won't change... in part because the Cowboys aren't just "America's Team.'' They're America's favorite team to hate. Which is, in a way, another form of love. Non-transferable.
