The buzz coming out of UFC 317 hasn't slowed down. After Ilia Topuria's dominant performance in the main event, speculation over who might challenge him next has only intensified. Among the most talked-about names is Paddy Pimblett—who fans and fighters alike have mentioned as a potential next opponent. But in the midst of swirling rumors, Pimblett has now stepped forward to address whether he'll be part of the UFC 319 card.

Paddy Pimblett, 30, the outspoken British lightweight, has kept his name in headlines lately—whether it's by calling for a shot at Topuria or reacting to the latest rumor linking him to Justin Gaethje.

That buzz came directly from UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis, who in a video captured by Ahmed Amwell and shared by Championship Rounds, claimed:
'It's gonna be a big card. The co-main event is Paddy Pimblett and Justin Gaethje.'
That hypothetical matchup instantly caught fire online. But Pimblett caught wind of the clip and quickly shut things down, posting to X:
'Yous are mad if you think I'm fighting in August.'
With UFC 319 set for August, that rumor appears to be off the table—at least for now.
While fight announcements can change quickly, it looks like Pimblett vs. Gaethje won't be happening at UFC 319. Until Ilia Topuria's next opponent is officially named, both Pimblett and Gaethje may remain in limbo, with fans left guessing what's truly next for each fighter. With both men linked to the champ, all eyes are on the UFC's next move.

Serena Williams & Alexis Ohanian's Daughters Are the Sweetest Daddy's Girls in a Heart-Melting New Photo

Girl dads have a special kind of bond with their daughters, and Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian is the perfect example. He showers their girls Olympia, 7, and Adira, 22 months, with love. A heart-melting new photo prove they are Daddy's girls through and through, and we've never seen anything sweeter! 'London morning with my girls,' the Reddit co-founder shared on Instagram today. He added, 'Also stopped by the women's sports store pop-up—Up The Chels!' More from SheKnows Chrissy Teigen's Daughter Esti Had the Cutest Reaction to Lunchtime in a New Video & It's Such a Vibe In the first photo, Ohanian walks toward the London Eye, holding his daughters in his arms. Adira's hair is up in two space buns on top of her head, as she turns her head and rests on her dad's shoulder. Olympia hangs out on her dad's other shoulder, with one arm around his back and the other arm around her sister. She leans forward to rest on his shoulder in the cutest snap. He also shared photos from the pop-up shop, featuring a jersey by Lucy Bronze of the Chelsea Women Football Club, of which Ohanian is a minor investor. In the comments, people praised this outing, focused on father-daughter bonding time and supporting women's sports. 'You are the epitome of a well-rounded man. A devoted husband, an incredible father, and a driven, accomplished businessman. Your heart is as big as your ambition. We can see it!! Well Done!' one person commented. 'This is what a real man looks like – devoted father, not afraid of his wife's success, and pursuing causes and investments to make the world a better place,' someone else wrote. In May, Ohanian and Williams brought Olympia to a Chelsea game at Wembley, where they won the Treble. The tech founder told BBC, 'That is what we're trying to build here with Chelsea Women — not just to be the best team, but truly the best team in all of women's sports. This will be a billion dollar franchise one day and beyond, and I hope my dollars — or should I say my pounds! — can go towards that in a big way. This is going to be America's team.' He also shared that while his girls are active like their mom, they will be encouraged to do whatever they want when they grow up. 'Both those girls are active. Olympia's definitely been playing a lot of tennis and she plays golf too,' Ohanian gushed. 'I've definitely been trying to get her into soccer, but whatever she wants she'll be great. She's very excited to be a Blues fan.' A loving dad and a supportive man? French Sharpshooter Could Shock Mavs Fans In Summer Roster Bid

French Sharpshooter Could Shock Mavs Fans In Summer Roster Bid originally appeared on Athlon Sports. As the Dallas Mavericks prepare for the 2025 Las Vegas Summer League, all eyes will naturally be on No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg making his professional debut. But don't sleep on another French talent who could steal some headlines: Melvin Ajinca, the Mavericks' 2024 second-round draft-and-stash prospect who spent this past season developing in Europe's top competition. Advertisement After a full campaign with LDLC ASVEL in both the French LNB Pro A and the EuroLeague, the 6-foot-8 wing returns to Vegas with newfound confidence, improved skills, and a legitimate opportunity to prove he deserves a spot on Dallas's main roster. When the Mavericks acquired Ajinca's draft rights from the New York Knicks on June 27, 2024 — one day after his 20th birthday — they knew they were getting a developmental prospect with intriguing upside. Rather than rushing him into the NBA, Dallas wisely let him continue to grow overseas with ASVEL, one of Europe's premier basketball programs. The decision paid off. After struggling with efficiency in his initial Summer League stint (shooting just 29.5 percent from the field), Ajinca dramatically improved overseas, playing alongside veteran guards Theo Maledon and Paris Lee. He averaged 5.4 points and 1.2 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per game across 27 EuroLeague contests — modest stats that don't reflect the strides he made. Most notably, Ajinca transformed his three-point shooting, hitting 42.7 percent from deep in EuroLeague play — a dramatic improvement from his previous numbers. His best performance came in December when he dropped 20 points against Paris, going 8-of-12 from the field with four three-pointers. Mavericks GM Nico Harrison pointed to Ajinca's age and overseas development plan as key factors. 'The beauty of his age and the fact that he is playing in Europe is that we can kind of figure it out,' Harrison said on draft night. Advertisement That patience appears to be paying off. Several factors align to make Ajinca a prime breakout candidate this summer. For one, there's a family connection to the franchise — his cousin, Alexis Ajinca, played for Dallas during the 2010–11 season, giving Melvin familiarity with the organization and added motivation to carry on the family legacy. More importantly, Ajinca's skill set fits today's NBA. At 6-foot-8 with above-average athleticism, he projects as a true '3-and-D' wing. According to Synergy Sports data from his pre-draft evaluations, Ajinca ranked in the 69th percentile in transition (1.20 points per possession) and shot 38.2 percent coming off screens — both elite indicators for a wing prospect. Under assistant coach Josh Broghamer, who will lead the Mavericks' Summer League squad, Ajinca enters with realistic expectations and a clear set of goals. This time around, he brings not only confidence but a defined role. The Mavericks will look for shooting consistency, defensive versatility, and improved basketball IQ — all areas where his EuroLeague tape suggests real growth. Ajinca's three-point efficiency will be tested against NBA-caliber athletes. At 6-foot-8, his defensive versatility is promising, and his year playing against seasoned European veterans could translate into better awareness and anticipation on both ends. He credits much of his improvement to learning alongside Maledon, who helped teach the nuances of spacing, ball movement, and quicker decision-making. Advertisement With the Mavericks holding just one remaining two-way contract slot, Ajinca will face legitimate competition in Vegas. But his unique combination of size, shooting and seasoning makes him a strong candidate for that final spot. Dallas values developmental upside, and Ajinca fits the mold. The Mavericks open Summer League play on July 10 against the Lakers at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN, with Ajinca expected to play meaningful minutes alongside Flagg and two-way signees Ryan Nembhard and Miles Kelly. After a year of growth in Europe's pressure-cooker environment, Ajinca returns to Las Vegas as a transformed player. With improved shooting, better decision-making, and the confidence of having contributed at the highest level overseas, he's poised to be one of the summer's biggest shocks for fans. The cousin of a former Maverick might just become the breakout story of Dallas's Summer League run.
