Glastonbury bosses have said they are 'appalled' by comments made by rap duo Bob Vylan during their performance at the festival yesterday.
Rapper Bobby Vylan of the group led crowds on the West Holts Stage in chants of 'Free, free Palestine' and: 'Death, death to the IDF [Israel Defence League]'.

Responding in a statement shared to social media by festival boss Emily Eavis, organizers said they were 'appalled' by the comments.
'Glastonbury Festival was created in 1970 as a place for people to come together and rejoice in music, the arts and the best of human endeavour. As a festival, we stand against all forms of war and terrorism. We will always believe in – and actively campaign for – hope, unity, peace and love,' a statement read.
'With almost 4,000 performances at Glastonbury 2025, there will inevitably be artists and speakers appearing on our stages whose views we do not share, and a performer's presence here should never be seen as a tacit endorsement of their opinions and beliefs.
'However, we are appalled by the statements made from the West Holts stage by Bob Vylan yesterday. Their chants very much crossed a line and we are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the Festival that there is no place at Glastonbury for antisemitism, hate speech or incitement to violence.'
A similar statement was issued by the BBC as they confirmed that the set will not be available to watch on demand.
'Some of the comments made during Bob Vylan's set were deeply offensive,' they said. 'During this live stream on iPlayer, which reflected what was happening on stage, a warning was issued on screen about the very strong and discriminatory language. We have no plans to make the performance available on demand.'
Police are also assessing the footage of their set to see if any offences have been committed, while The Independent reports that Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has spoken to BBC Director General Tim Davie 'to seek an urgent explanation about what due diligence it carried out ahead of the Bob Vylan performance'.
Bob Vylan were performing shortly before Kneecap, who delivered one of the most anticipated sets of the weekend. The festival had faced pressure from figures including Keir Starmer to cancel the performance after the band's Liam O hAnnaidh was charged with a terror offence after it was alleged that he unfurled a Hezbollah flag and said 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah' at a gig at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town late last year.
Bob Vylan are comment to respond to Glastonbury's comments.

Eminem Wanted Mariah Carey To Play A Specific Role In ‘8 Mile' Which Sparked Their Rumored Romance

Long before Eminem and Mariah Carey dissed one another, they were rumored to have dated. Her producer, Damizza, recently revealed that their romance was sparked by Eminem's request that she play a specific role in his legendary movie 8 Mile. He recounted his initial reaction to Slim Shady's request for a meeting on the TFU Podcast: 'I'm not getting in the middle of that. I know how this ends.' He also claimed that Carey had declined a meeting with the Detroit rapper before learning about the film. Nonetheless, she eventually agreed to meet him, so Damizza facilitated the arrangement. 'The first thing out of [Eminem's] mouth is, 'I want you to play my mother,'' he recalled of the meeting. The 'We Belong Together' singer seemingly didn't take it well, as Damizza said, 'Her insecurities kicked in big time.' However, he wasn't prepared for where things would go between the two. Damizza told the TFU Podcast that the professional meeting was the catalyst for their long-rumored romantic relationship, with Mariah Carey being the one doing the courting. 'It was her chasing him, not him chasing her,' he said. 'Next thing I know, we are at Eminem's house… and they disappear. The second they went into his room, literally, I was like, 'I'm going back to LA. There is no point of me being here.' It went from business to f**king.' This is an interesting revelation, as Carey ended up not appearing in 8 Mile and has also denied the two ever being romantically involved. Eminem, however, wouldn't let her deceive the people. His 2009 track 'The Warning' was a response to her song 'Obsessed,' which many believe was targeted at him. 'Wow Mariah, didn't expect you to go balls out/ Bi**h shut the f**k up 'fore I put all them phone calls out/ You made to my house when you was Wild'n Out before Nick/ When you was on my d**k and give you something to smile about,' he rapped. In another part of the song, he added 'Listen, girly, surely you don't want me to talk about how I nutted early/ 'Cause I ejaculated prematurely/ And bust all over your belly and you almost started hurling/ And said I was gross, go get a towel, your stomach's curling.' BEIJING, July 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- In northeast China, "Ice City" Harbin, also famed as a "City of Music" in Asia, is seeing crowds of participants from 39 countries and regions thronging its summer music gala. Opened on June 27, the 37th Harbin Summer Music Festival co-hosted by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Harbin municipal government offers locals and visitors a fantastic chance to revel in the charm of music. The festival, which sets seven sections including the opening shows, national-level performances and the "Capital of East Asian Culture"-themed art week, will last till September this year. Among its diverse activities, there are three international musical contests, namely the 2025 Schoenfeld International String Competition, the 20th World Saxophone Congress and the 7th Harbin International Accordion Art Week. In the Chinese city, also an ideal summer retreat, other 79 Chinese and foreign thematic performances are either ongoing or underway now, not to mention the 3,000-plus on-agenda artistic activities for mass amusement. With an around century-long musical history and cultural heritages integrating both oriental and western cultures, Harbin boasts an enchanting aura and unique charms, said Peter Paul Kainrath, president of World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC). This year, Kainrath hoped WFIMC's annual meeting held in Harbin could be a good start for it to maintain close and friendly exchanges with Harbin and other Chinese cities, expecting dialogues and cooperation in a wide range of sectors. As one of the cradles of Chinese modern music, Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province in northeast China, is endeavoring to illuminate different cultures through the catchy and diverse music of its summer music festival.
