Kota Kinabalu: THE Malaysian national team seems to be going through a very drastic change. Lately, the national team won with a handsome 4-0 drubbing of Vietnam. For a long while, Malaysia had found it very difficult to beat Vietnam even with some heritage players in the team. Now with the addition of naturalised players, the combination with the heritage players has given the team much more depth in quality. A clear picture was the win against Vietnam where there were nine heritage and naturalised players in the starting 11. The only locals on the list were Arif Aiman and goalkeeper Syihan Hazmi. Not forgetting on the bench, there were some more heritage and naturalised players. Qabil Secures Podium Finish In ESBK Talent Aragon
KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysian racer Qabil Irfan Azlan had a good race today when he secured a podium finish at Race 2 of the ESBK Talent in the 3rd Round of the Circuit Racing Spanish Championship (ESBK) at Aragon Circuit, Spain. Wake-up call for national women's rugby team
KUALA LUMPUR: It was a wake-up call for the national women's team following their 14-5 loss to Singapore Development team in the semi-finals of the Johor Sevens at Johor Rugby Stadium today. The Malaysian team, prepararing for the Thailand Sea Games in December, beat Hanelang Angels 41-0 in the quarter-finals, and Bedok Skylla 49-0, Vixens Melaka 22-0 and SJ26 Ladies 3-0 in group matches. National coach Faiz Samsukhidir said his players need to focus on fitness and get more high quality matches. "We lost to a team that prepared more thoroughly, who have been training non-stop since last year. We train on and off due to lack of funds."

Siblings Aaliyah and Aiden sizzle as they deliver two golds at Asian meet
Family affair: Yoong Hanifah siblings Aiden (gold), Aaliyah (gold), and Adam (bronze) made it a grand day by shining in the waterski events at the Asian Championships in Bangkok on Saturday (June 28). PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian waterski team got their campaign in the Asian Championships, to a splendid start by winning two gold medals in Thailand, thanks to the Yoong siblings on Saturday (June 28). Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah won the women's Open tricks gold medal while younger brother Aiden claimed the men's Open tricks gold at Rabbit Lake in Minburi, Bangkok. Aaliyah scored 7130 points to beat Indonesia's Nailah Putri, who scored 3640, while Japan's Saaya Hirosawa came in third with 3520. Aiden, 19, won his first-ever open men's tricks in the Asian Championships with a new personal best and national record of 5700 points, defeating Jo Nakamura of Japan with 5490 points in second. Malaysia had another medal through younger brother Adam Yoong Hanifah, who claimed the bronze medal in the men's tricks event with 4520 points. The 21-year-old Aaliyah was thrilled to have her brothers on the podium as well, and is confident to get more medals at the event. "I'm super happy that my brothers also climbed the podium in the men's tricks. Hopefully, there will be more golds to come in the slalom and jump finals," she said.
