'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Season 3 Won't Be ‘Exactly Like the Books'
THE RUNDOWN
The Summer I Turned Pretty returns for its third and final season on July 16, promising to finally answer our questions about Conrad's disappearance and his ongoing will-they won't-they situation with Belly.
As for how the season will play out, the series might differ from what viewers are anticipating. In a recent interview with People, author Jenny Han, whose novels inspired the show, revealed that the events in season 3 'might not always happen in the way that [they]'re expecting.'
Christopher Briney, who stars as Conrad, also warned fans that they shouldn't be so convinced the season will go as they believe it will. In his cover story with Entertainment Weekly, he stated, 'You have not read the scripts!' in response to Han, who stated, 'There are surprises. And there are things that aren't exactly like the books.'
Given that the first two seasons received a bit of a shake-up—with the introduction of Aunt Julia and Skye in season 2, and the beach house almost getting sold—season 3 could also undergo a lot of changes.
Still, Han has made sure that longtime fans of the novel will be satisfied. 'There are a couple of moments that people really love from the books that I knew that people were wanting to see,' Han said. 'I wanted to make sure that I was going to really service those fans who've been following the story for a really long time.'
With just over a week to go, all will soon be revealed, but ultimately, Han's aim is for fans to go on one final, fun journey with the characters after growing with them over the seasons. Here's to one last summer.

Care home resident's dream comes true with steam train journey
A steam train ride through the countryside has made a lifelong dream come true for a care home resident. The trip was organised by staff at The Manor House Knaresborough, who are helping residents tick off their bucket list wishes. David, a resident at the Anchor care home who lives with limited mobility, always wanted to travel by steam train but never thought it would happen. He said: "I couldn't quite believe it was actually happening. "I'd always wanted to ride a steam train but thought it would never be possible. "The team here made the impossible possible, and that journey through the Yorkshire Dales was everything I'd dreamed it would be and more." The journey, which saw other Manor House residents take the trip too, took place earlier this month on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway. Clive, another Manor House resident and passenger on the trip, once worked for British Railways and spent the day sharing stories from his time on the railways. Joy, who recently moved to Yorkshire, enjoyed a scenic tour of the Dales on the return journey, thanks to the driver, Steve, who pointed out landmarks along the way. A special moment was arranged for resident Susan, who was surprised by her family waiting for her on the platform (they went on to join her on the journey). The care home team also organised another treat for 101-year-old Susan, who is originally from Ireland and dreamed of returning to her hometown. Instead, the team brought Ireland to her by transforming The Manor House into a celebration of Irish culture, complete with professional dancers performing traditional Irish routines, and a birthday cake. Go Beyond the Screen with Hisense — Feel Every Moment Like You're There
There's nothing like being at a live soccer match — the thrum of the crowd, the rhythmic chants, the moment of pure euphoria when a goal goes in. However, it's not always possible to get to the stadium so the challenge lies in replicating this all-encompassing experience from the comfort of one's home. This pursuit of an authentic home viewing experience is where advancements in display technology are making significant strides. ‘Superman' Is Soaring Into Theaters—Here's When You Can Stream It

James Gunn's highly anticipated take on the classic film premieres in theaters today, kicking off the next chapter of the DC Universe and introducing a new leading man: David Corenswet. The actor stars as Clark Kent, a Kryptonian raised in Kansas who now navigates dual identities as a Daily Planet reporter and the world's most recognizable hero. Joining Corenswet is Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, with supporting roles from Edi Gathegi, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, and Anthony Carrigan. In classic Superman fashion, the story tackles a range of global threats—think robots, kaiju monsters, and political unrest—while keeping its focus grounded in themes of morality, idealism, and human connection. Director Gunn called the project deeply personal. 'Superman is the story of America,' he told The Times. 'An immigrant that came from other places and populated the country, but for me it is mostly a story that says basic human kindness is a value and is something we have lost.' His version of Clark is more of an optimist trying to hold onto his humanity—even when the world around him questions it. Corenswet, a Juilliard-trained actor previously known for his role in The Politician, called the role a 'solemn responsibility.' In his GQ Hype cover story, he admitted he considered turning it down before asking himself a single question: 'If this is the only role I get to play for the rest of my life, and that means whether I get to play it once or get to play it 10 times, would I still say yes? And the answer was yes.' Warner Bros. has yet to announce an official streaming date for Superman, but the film is expected to land on HBO Max later this year. Recent titles like Sinners followed a similar rollout. Until then, you can catch the film in theaters. Get Tickets
