Ed Sheeran Challenges Chris Hemsworth to Play Drums in Front of 70K People in ‘Limitless' Trailer
The unexpected cameo from the God of Thunder turned out to be part of Hemsworth's Limitless series with National Geographic, which finds him pursuing ways to strengthen his mind and body through extreme measures. And in a trailer for the show's new season — titled Limitless: Live Better Now — that dropped Thursday (July 17), fans get a preview of just how much time and effort it took for Hemsworth to get comfortable behind the drum set.

Walking through a grassy field with the actor, Sheeran tells him in the teaser, 'You should learn the drums to play a song with me on my stadium tour.'
The video then cuts to footage of Hemsworth hammering away at his kit, at one point admitting that he's 'struggling.' When Sheeran comes in to observe his progress, the Grammy winner says frankly, 'I think this actually might be the most difficult thing you do.'
Indeed, learning to play drums is one of the trickiest tests of rhythm and coordination, but Hemsworth ultimately pulled it off. In more shots from the Limitless trailer, he greets the roaring crowd from the stage at National Arena in Bucharest and successfully keeps time while Sheeran performs his 2014 hit 'Thinking Out Loud.'
With episodes premiering Aug. 15 on Disney+ and Hulu, Limitless: Live Better Now is a three-part series that will also find the Extraction star climbing a 600-foot wall in the Swiss Alps and going through Special Forces training in South Korea to uncover new possibilities for mental and physical wellness. As Hemsworth explains in the trailer, 'The key to unlocking these benefits for all of us is finding the edge of our comfort zone.'
In addition to being one-time bandmates, Sheeran and Hemsworth are longtime friends. When the former was named one of TIME's most influential people of 2025, the latter paid tribute to his pal in a blurb for the magazine.
'Ed Sheeran has an almost supernatural ability to connect,' Hemsworth wrote at the time. 'His songs, his voice, his words — they belong to all of us. Whether you're at home with your headphones on, driving through the countryside or in a stadium packed with 70,000 people singing at the top of their lungs, his music feels personal.'

Legacy of Nevada skating ring lives on in Bolton today
On a roll! That's local roller-skaters who proved they had the right moves to be crowned British Champions! Red Rose Roller Skating Club, based in Turton and Smithills, travelled to Great Yarmouth to compete in the Dance British Championships. Paula Callaghan, 66, coach and founder of the club, said: "We didn't have anyone come below eighth place! "I wasn't surprised – because they work so hard and they've been working and working and working every single day. "But you never know what's going to happen on the day of the championship – they got so many good compliments from the officials too!" Toby Halpin-Foden, 16, and Jemima Corser, 16, came home with the top prize – placing number one in the Youth Couples category. That wasn't the only achievement for Toby, however, with the teen also winning the trophy for Men's Youth Champion. Go behind the scenes with the ‘Alien: Earth' cast at Comic-Con 2025
SAN DIEGO — Sydney Chandler has wanted to attend San Diego Comic-Con as a fan for years. So it's 'surreal' that the actor's first experience with the annual pop culture expo is to promote her upcoming FX series 'Alien: Earth.' Chandler stars in the 'Alien' prequel as Wendy, a young girl whose consciousness has been transferred to an android. 'To be able to do it in this capacity is just mind-blowing,' she tells The Times in advance of the show's Hall H premiere on Friday. 'It's emotional because we worked on this for so long and I learned so much. … I'm kind of at a loss of words.' She does have words of appreciation, though, including for what she's learned from her character. 'Her journey of finding out how to hold her own and stand on her own two feet taught me so much,' says Chandler. 'I'm an overthinker. I'm an anxious person. I would have run so fast. I would not be as brave as her, but she taught me … that it's OK to just stand on your own two feet, and that's enough. That's powerful.' Even before the show's Hall H panel, fans have gathered on the sidewalk outside of the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego to catch a glimpse of Chandler and her 'Alien: Earth' cast mates Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin and Babou Ceesay, along with creator Noah Hawley and executive producer David Zucker, on their short trek to the bus that would transport them to the convention center for the show's world premiere. On the ride over, Hawley betrays no nerves about people seeing the first episode. 'I really think, in a strange way, it plays for all ages because it is about growing up on some level,' says the showrunner. 'But it's also 'Alien,' and it is a meditation on power and corporate power. ' Huddled together on the bus with Lawther and Blenkin, Ceesay is surprised to learn that this is the first time attending San Diego Comic-Con for all three. There's plenty of good-natured ribbing as they talk about the early interviews they've completed at the event. 'I just sort of want to make jokes with you all the time,' says Lawther as he looks towards his cast mates. 'I find it quite giddy in the experience, and I had to remind myself that I'm a professional.' 'Sometimes the British sarcasm instinct just kicks in,' Blenkin adds. Their playful dynamic continues as they joke about crashing Ceesay's other panel, and also backstage at Hall H as they try to sneak up on each other in the dark. After the panel, the cast is whisked away for video interviews and signing posters at a fan meet-and-greet at a booth on the exhibit floor. ('Timothy, you're the man!' shouts a fan passing by.) Later, Hawley, Chandler and Ceesay will hit the immersive 'Alien: Earth' activation where they will explore the wreckage of a crashed ship. 'It's such a safe space for people who just enjoy cinema and enjoy film,' Chandler says of Comic-Con. 'And that's me. I'm a complete nerd for all this stuff, so just to be around that group — it reminds me of why I love film so much in the first place.'

A Midwestern therapist with a mullet, tattoos and nose piercing may be a descendant of Queen Victoria's secret lovechild, a British historian has claimed. Angela Webb-Milinkovich, a mental-health practitioner from Minnesota, was named as a possible living testament to a scandalous affair between the British monarch and her devoted manservant, John Brown, by historian Fern Riddell. 'The story that my family grew up with is that John Brown and Queen Victoria had a romantic relationship,' she said, referring to the loyal aide who the royal matriarch became particularly close to after her husband Prince Albert's death. 'They went on a long boat journey. After that, a child was produced, and from that child came my family's lineage,' Webb-Milinkovich said of Brown and the queen. Rumors have swirled that Mary Ann Brown, Webb-Milinkovich's great-grandmother, was their lovechild. Victoria and Brown's closeness sparked rumors in Britain, and in 1866, a Swiss newspaper reported the pair had secretly married. Victoria even dedicated her book on highland life, published after Brown died in 1883, to him and asked to be buried with his picture. The rumored affair was the subject of the 1997 movie 'Mrs Brown,' which won Dame Judi Dench an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Victoria. The evidence includes a cast of Brown's hand ordered by the monarch in the days after his death, something she had previously done for her late husband. 'Their relationship has been downplayed and sanitized,' Riddell told the Times of London. 'I hope we give John Brown back his place in history and his legacy, which is that he was Victoria's de facto royal consort for 20 years,' said the researcher, author of the book 'Victoria's Secret.'
