Ed Sheeran Challenges Chris Hemsworth to Play Drums in Front of 70K People in ‘Limitless' Trailer

Ed Sheeran might make it look easy, but performing in front of 70,000 people is no easy task. Just ask Chris Hemsworth, who played drums alongside the British pop star despite having no prior experience at a concert in in Bucharest, Romania, last year. The unexpected cameo from the God of Thunder turned out to be part of Hemsworth's Limitless series with National Geographic, which finds him pursuing ways to strengthen his mind and body through extreme measures. And in a trailer for the show's new season — titled Limitless: Live Better Now — that dropped Thursday (July 17), fans get a preview of just how much time and effort it took for Hemsworth to get comfortable behind the drum set. The video then cuts to footage of Hemsworth hammering away at his kit, at one point admitting that he's 'struggling.' When Sheeran comes in to observe his progress, the Grammy winner says frankly, 'I think this actually might be the most difficult thing you do.' Indeed, learning to play drums is one of the trickiest tests of rhythm and coordination, but Hemsworth ultimately pulled it off. In more shots from the Limitless trailer, he greets the roaring crowd from the stage at National Arena in Bucharest and successfully keeps time while Sheeran performs his 2014 hit 'Thinking Out Loud.' With episodes premiering Aug. 15 on Disney+ and Hulu, Limitless: Live Better Now is a three-part series that will also find the Extraction star climbing a 600-foot wall in the Swiss Alps and going through Special Forces training in South Korea to uncover new possibilities for mental and physical wellness. As Hemsworth explains in the trailer, 'The key to unlocking these benefits for all of us is finding the edge of our comfort zone.' In addition to being one-time bandmates, Sheeran and Hemsworth are longtime friends. When the former was named one of TIME's most influential people of 2025, the latter paid tribute to his pal in a blurb for the magazine. 'Ed Sheeran has an almost supernatural ability to connect,' Hemsworth wrote at the time. 'His songs, his voice, his words — they belong to all of us. Whether you're at home with your headphones on, driving through the countryside or in a stadium packed with 70,000 people singing at the top of their lungs, his music feels personal.' New Rumor About the MCU's Next THOR Project Could Mean a Shift Away From Chris Hemsworth's Reign — GeekTyrant

Aside from Chris Hemsworth's casting in Avengers: Doomsday , Marvel has been pretty quiet about the future of Thor. There has been some talk about a fifth Thor film, but nothing official has been announced, and if this new rumor is true, it makes sense as to why. Industry insider Daniel Richtman revealed (via CB) that Marvel Studios is developing a project known as Thor Quest , a title from a 2023 children's book centered on a young Thor's first quest to find Mjolnir. There's no information pointing toward whether the Marvel Studios project is a movie or a TV show, but potentially shifting the focus to a young version of Thor could mean Hemworth's God of Thunder might indeed be retiring the character after the next Avengers crossover. This, like all rumors, is just that for now, but it could point to a reason behind Hemsworth's farewell-esque tribute video that he shared last month. As usual, we will just have to wait and see how it all pans out.

Kiss' Gene Simmons Crashes Local L.A. Weather Report, Says Weather Is Perfect ‘To Rock and Roll All Night'

A Los Angeles news station got a dose of star power when Gene Simmons crashed a local weather report. On Thursday, the legendary Kiss vocalist and bassist made an unexpected appearance on Fox 11 Los Angeles, joining meteorologist Adam Kruger to help deliver the week's forecast. 'You look much better in real life than you do on TV,' Simmons quipped to Krueger. When Krueger assured Simmons he looks good in both, Simmons (decked out in sunglasses and leather pants) joked: 'I know that.' 'This weekend it's looking pretty good if people want to rock and roll all night,' Krueger said, a nod to the 1975 track 'Rock and Roll All Nite.' Simmons continued the bit, finishing the lyric and advising that viewers 'should probably party every day.' 'The weatherman approached me and asked me if I wanted to jump on and do the weather,' Simmons told Entertainment Weekly about appearing in the segment. 'Of course! But I told him, 'Hold onto your britches. I'm not your usual weatherman. Weather advisory is in order.'' The impromptu weather report isn't the first time Simmons has appeared on local Los Angeles news: the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has previously helped Los Angeles' KTLA 5 deliver a weather forecast, during which he encouraged viewers to 'Kiss somebody. The mailman, your beautiful wife — kiss the dog, kiss life.'
