BBC's Gladiators to return for a new series in 2026
Father-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh host the show and will return to the hit BBC game show.
A new series will see its elite athletes, known as Gladiators, take on more contenders to complete physical challenges.
The competition, which puts contestants' speed, power, endurance and agility to the test, will return to screens in 2026 and will also include a one-hour celebrity special where four stars will enter the Sheffield arena.
A post shared by Gladiators (@gladiatorstv)
Familiar Gladiator faces including Apollo, Athena, Bionic, Comet, Cyclone and Diamond will return.
Dynamite, Electro, Fire, Fury and The Giant will also come back for the new series alongside Hammer, Legend, Nitro, Phantom, Sabre, Steel and Viper.
Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, said: 'Audiences have loved getting together to watch our mighty Gladiators take on contenders from all across the UK, with younger fans especially excited to cheer on their Saturday night superheroes.
'With this brand-new series and another celebrity special confirmed there will be even more epic battles, more high-octane action and of course even more foam fingers than ever before for everyone to look forward to.'
Gladiators was revived last year on the BBC, with Army officer Finlay Anderson and personal trainer Marie-Louise Nicholson being crowned champions.
Gym owner Amanda Wah from Warrington and gymnastics coach Joe Fishburn from Scarborough took the crown this April as the 2025 Gladiators champions.
The series will include 11 one-hour episodes along with a single one-hour Gladiators celebrity special.
Dan Baldwin, managing director at Hungry Bear Media, said: 'We have been absolutely blown away by the reception Gladiators has received from families up and down the country.
'It has become a huge part of Saturday night viewing on the BBC.

Zara McDermott poses with Louis Tomlinson's sister at Glastonbury Festival
Zara McDermott is at her first Glastonbury Festival - but some fans think she's giving off the 'wrong vibe' as one said 'this ain't Coachella' Zara McDermott certainly looks like she's enjoying her first ever Glastonbury. The 28-year-old is at the festival with new boyfriend Louis Tomlinson. The Love Island and Made In Chelsea star turned BBC documentary maker posed for a series of snaps showing her and One Direction's Louis, 33, were there with Louis' influencer sister Lottie, 26, and her fiance Lewis Burton. But snaps posted to her own Instagram account got a bit of backlash from fans who said they were 'the opposite of what Glastonbury is about'. Posing in an Adidas tracksuit and matching trainers, Zara sat on the floor in the snaps that looked more like a sports ad than a candid festival photo. She captioned the post: 'First Glasto.' It led one follower to ask: "Are you sitting in a foot path?" Another wrote: "This is the opposite of what Glastonbury is about. Sorry Zara wrong vibe." Agreeing, a third said: "I came to say the same, she has absolutely no idea, I have actual 2nd hand embarrassment!" as a fourth commented: "This ain't Coachella." In other snaps, it looked like Zara's relationship with Louis - who she started dating earlier this year just weeks after her split from boyfriend of five years Sam Thompson - is definitely hotting up. She's now met his family and posed for pics with his little sister Lottie, suggesting she's already got her seal of approval. But Zara and Louis were careful not to pose for any photos together and the new couple are yet to make their relationship Instagram official. And it's emerged the pair aren't even camping together at Glasto - with glam Zara preferring to stay off site instead while Louis parties with his mates. He's reportedly even put up a tent that's just for booze. A source told the Mirror: "Louis is determined to make it a weekend to remember and has planned everything with military like precision - including making sure enough booze is available. He has his own tent - and one just for the drinks." "Everyone is saying it's a nice break for him and Zara, but it's a great way also for Zara to meet his mates. It will definitely be a boozy one and not a particularly romantic one," the source added. Zara and Louis were first linked in March this year when they were pictured on a date in Suffolk. Since then, they've been seen in Los Angeles together and Zara was recently seen supporting Louis in Costa Rica. But they have gone as far as to slightly appear in each other's social media photos as they shared matching photos from a Stereophonics concert on their Instagram stories. Zara then appeared to 'soft launch' their romance on Instagram when she posted a photo of her breakfast, featuring a view of Louis' tattooed arm in the background of the photo.

Amanda Holden, 54, sizzles in a plunging swimsuit as she shows off her age-defying figure whilst joking around with Alan Carr in Greece
Amanda Holden showcased her sensational figure in a plunging swimsuit on Sunday as she enjoyed her time in Greece with Alan Carr. The celebrity pair have been busy filming their BBC renovations show over the last couple of months, which has been renamed Amanda and Alan's Greek Job. Making sure it was not all work and no play, the duo managed to squeeze in some time between building work to film a lip-syching video to the hit song Together from the musical, Gypsy. In the clip, Amanda, 54, sizzled in a black and white one-piece as she danced and sang next to Alan, who wore green shorts and a blue T-shirt, 49. She also slipped into some white flip flops and accessorised with a straw fedora hat and oversized sunglasses as she took on the funny video with her co-star. The TV presenter looked amazing, showing off her toned legs and bronzed bod as she danced and sang along. The pair who are super close, made sure they lip synced to the part that meant the most to them, singing: 'Wherever we are, it's together. Wherever I go I know he goes. 'Wherever I go I know she goes. No fits, no fights, no feuds and no egos, Amigos, together!' Amanda and Alan have been jetting back and forth to Greece to film their series, after the Heart Radio host criticised the series' name, their travel arrangements and suggested their next show should be shown on Netflix instead. The mother-of-two no doubt shocked bosses as she took a cheeky swipe at her show with the BBC and complained about 'urine soaked dressing room floors'. As they discussed the show on Alan's travel podcast, Alan recalled: 'Do you remember we had to wee in behind bins and sh*** like that? I'm dreading it.' Amanda recalled: 'I have a pile of clothes on me at the back. I've got all of Alan's shirts, like 15 dresses I'll change into, three hats lined up on the back.' She continued: 'And then we get out and I get changed in loos where there's like wee on the floor, beach huts. That's behind the scenes.' Alan added: 'But the thing is people don't understand there's no... The toilets aren't working when we get have to go and use someone's toilet or a portaloo.' Amanda agreed: 'We have to beg for... I mean, how many umbrellas have you put up over various countries when I've had to wee behind them? 'You'll notice that there's hundreds of costume changes for us as well. So we travel, for some reason, the company that we do it with, always hire the smallest cars. 'And I'm in the back with Christian, who does our hair and make up. You're in the front doing the music selection.' After they admitted they didn't like the name of their new series either, Alan suggested it should be called My Big Fat Greek Renovation. While Amanda confessed: 'It's not good. Well, we should argue with the BBC about that.' 'But I've always wanted to visit Japan. It's like the place to go. I want to go in the spring,' she added.' 'And I just think maybe Alan, we should just go to Netflix with our next show, Big in Japan with Amanda and Alan. Yeah. Love it. That idea is with them.' Amanda credits her slim physique with having a balanced diet and a varied exercise routine which includes yoga and running. She has also praised the benefits of getting enough water, previously telling the MailOnline: 'It's good for my body and soul'.
