However, the biggest storyline of the game was Tyrese Haliburton's injury. The All-Star guard played just seven minutes in the contest before being ruled out due to an Achilles injury.
Haliburton suffered the injury with 4:55 remaining in the first quarter. Slow-motion video showed something snapping in the playmaker's right leg, causing him to fall to the floor and wince in pain.
Without Haliburton, who scored nine points before his exit, the Pacers eventually fell behind the Thunder and lost.
Naturally, the Pacers were emotional after the game, with guard T.J. McConnell even spotted crying and hugging team legend Reggie Miller.

Haliburton, for his part, made sure to be with his teammates even in defeat. As the Pacers headed to the locker room, the 25-year-old guard was seen on crutches while waiting for the Indiana players and staffers.
After seeing the video of Haliburton, fans couldn't help but get sad over what happened. Many also wondered if the results would have been different had he not been injured.
"I hate it for bro fr man. That's devastating but God not gone put nun in front of you that you can't handle," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "Pacers literally win this game if he doesnt get hurt. Had 9 pts on 3 30+ foot BOMBS. His moment got taken from him."

A fan remarked, "it wasn't supposed to end this way."
"I feel so bad for him," a supporter shared.
A fifth follower posted, "Poor guys fr, such a sad way to loose a game 7."
"Sad for Hali man, you could tell he wanted to win that game bad. Respect to him and the pacers for a great playoff run," a social media user shared.

The severity of Tyrese Haliburton's injury has yet to be determined, but considering it's an Achilles injury, he's facing a long road to recovery.

O'Neill comes off injured list and Westburg returns from finger injury to boost Orioles' lineup

ATLANTA (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles' lineup received a boost for Friday night's game against the Atlanta Braves as Tyler O'Neill came off the injured list and third baseman Jordan Westburg returned from a finger injury. O'Neill was the Orioles' designated hitter in his return from a left shoulder impingement. He was placed on the injured list for the second time this year on May 16 after missing time earlier in the season with neck inflammation. Advertisement O'Neill hit .382 (10 for 31) in 10 minor league rehab games. "He's good to go," interim manager Tony Mansolino said of O'Neill, who was batting only .188 in 24 games with the Orioles. 'He's 110%. There's a chance he comes out day one and just bangs. We're excited to have him here.' Westburg hit second in his return after aggravating a left index finger injury on Friday. 'Is he 100%? Probably not,' Mansolino said. 'But I think he's probably close.' ___ AP MLB: The Associated Press

Connor McGregor suggests interest in competing in White House UFC fight: 'Count me in'

UFC star Conor McGregor hasn't fought since July of 2021, but he may have his eyes set on a marquee event next year. After President Donald Trump announced Thursday that a UFC fight would take place on White House grounds next year, McGregor reacted to the news with a seeming eagerness to participate, on social media. "Happy 4th of July, USA. Excited with President Trump announcing a UFC fight event at the White House. I would be honoured! Count me in!" McGregor wrote on X. McGregor later re-shared his post with a photo of him and Trump in the Oval Office. In March, McGregor said he will be running for president of his home country of Ireland as well. On Friday, the fighter followed up on his post expressing interest with a bold prediction about participating in next year's White House fight as the sitting president of the country. "July 4th next year is a Saturday, regarding President Trumps UFC White House event. I will be reigning President of Ireland just under 1 year when I step out on the lawns of the White House to throw down. Epic proportions! Or as I like to call it, Tuesday at the office. Vote McGregor," he wrote on X. In March, McGregor visited the White House and criticized the Irish government in an attempt to raise awareness of "the issues the people of Ireland face." "Our government has long since abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland, and it's high time that America is made aware of what's going on in Ireland. What is going on in Ireland is a travesty. Our government is a government of zero action and zero accountability," he said during an appearance alongside White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on March 20. In terms of his fighting career, McGregor has long touted his return to the octagon after his first attempt last June came to an unfortunate end due to a training injury. In April, McGregor said he would only return to fighting for an event that would take place in a large stadium. "I'll only come back to a stadium," he wrote in a post on X after WrestleMania 41, which was held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. McGregor, 36, last fought in 2021, when he lost to Dustin Poirier after breaking his leg during the fight. He was slated to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June, but the fight was called off after he broke his toe during training.
