Wales have sunk to an all-time low of 14th in the latest rugby world rankings, published today.
Having previously sat in 12th, Matt Sherratt's side have been overtaken by Japan and Samoa in the latest round of rankings, plumbing unprecedented depths that will only serve to underline the feeling of accelerating decline within the Welsh game.

Wales stretched their winless run to 18 straight Tests with a 24-19 defeat at the hands of Japan, a result that means they have now gone nearly two years without a win. Sign up to Inside Welsh rugby on Substack for the exclusive five-week tour diary from Japan and Australia.

It's a record losing streak for a tier one nation, with this defeat also representing Japan's first against tier one opposition for six years.
They are now sat just above the USA in 15th.
Wales face the Brave Blossoms again this weekend in Kobe, and will be desperate to end their drought.

Meanwhile, South Africa remain top of the pile, ahead of New Zealand, Ireland and France, all of whom remain unchanged in the top four.
The only other real change in the top 20 is England's rise to fifth. They overtake Argentina, who drop into sixth.
That move comes after England's impressive recent 35-12 win over the Pumas in Buenos Aires that saw a massive four point swing in rankings scores.

Scotland say in seventh, while Australia, who are gearing up to face the British and Irish Lions this summer, hold firm in eighth.
Fiji and Italy round off the top 10, while Georgia sit in eleventh.

She's been spotted in the crowd at the annual tournament in the UK lately as the tennis player competes in this year's championship. Ben, 22, competed against Lorenzo Sonego in a match that was held earlier today in London. Trinity, 23, who has been romantically linked to Ben since earlier this year, was in the audience for his victory in the game, which has secured him a place in the quarter finals of the competition. Trinity is no stranger to a sporting contest though as she's a footballer. Described as a "rising superstar" in soccer, she's been a forward for Washington Spirit, which is part of National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), since 2021. More recently, last year, she was named her team's all-time regular season assists leader. Trinity also plays for the US Women's National Soccer Team. Through that team, which is joined in 2022, she's an Olympic gold medalist following their stint in Paris last year. Trinity scored three goals for the team at the event. She was among the players followed through last year's NWSL playoffs for docuseries For the Win: NWSL, which launched on Prime Video earlier this year. Trinity and Ben have been romantically linked for months (Image: Instagram/trinity_rodman) Trinity isn't the only member of her family to have a career in sports. She's the youngest child of retired basketball player Dennis Rodman, 64, and his ex-wife Michelle Moyer, who divorced when she was a child. Her older brother Dennis 'DJ' Rodman, 24, has followed in their father's footsteps with a career in basketball. Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, in an episode released in March, Trinity revealed that she has often been estranged from her father over the year. She said that she has "made it clear that he's not present" and it "frustrates" her being asked about him in interviews.
