Mötley Crüe share statement after Vince Neil's plane crashes in Arizona
The incident, which happened off the runway at Scottsdale Airport on Monday afternoon (10 February) left Neil's girlfriend Rain Andreani and her friend with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.
They were taken to hospital with the jet's co-pilot, who was also injured.
According to a statement posted from the band's Instagram, the Learjet aircraft Model 25A was attempting to land when, 'for reasons unknown at this time', it veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane.
'While details are still emerging, our hearts go out to the families of both the pilot who lost his life and the passengers who suffered injuries,' the band's representative said.
'Mötley Crüe will announce a way to help support the family of the deceased pilot – stand by for an announcement very soon.'
TMZ reports that Adreani, 43, broke five ribs in the crash, while the dogs she and her friend were travelling with also survived. She and Neil are believed to have been dating for around 14 years, having met in 2011.
Neil, 64, said he was grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting in the crash.
Mötley Crüe rose to fame in the early Eighties and are one of the biggest-selling rock bands of all time.
Formed by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, who were later joined by Neil and guitarist Mick Mars, they quickly became known for their hard-partying lifestyles as well as their flamboyant live shows.

In 2019 they were the subject of a Netflix film, The Dirt, based on th e controversial book of the same name and starring Iwan Rheon, Douglas Booth, Machine Gun Kelly and Daniel Webber.
Last year, it was announced that the band had signed a new deal with Big Machine Records – they released their latest EP, Cancelled, in October.
The plane crash on Monday follows a string of deadly aircraft incidents in the last two weeks, including a mid-air collision with an army helicopter and a commercial jet near Washington DC on 29 January, which killed 67 people.
Just two days later, six people onboard and another person on the ground were killed when a medical transportation jet crashed in Philadelphia. Last week, a small commuter plan crashed in western Alaska on route to Nome, killing all 10 people on board.

New Hunger Games book is free in pre Prime Day deal
The internet goes into a frenzy every time a new cast member is announced and there's a way to find out about Haymitch's games, in Sunrise on the Reaping, for free Suzanne Collins' Sunrise on the Reaping was launched earlier this year and has brought the topic of the franchise back to centre stage online. The book follows Haymitch's game, the Second Quarter Quell, where twice as many tributes were reaped. While the book has been a smash hit, it's the franchise's Instagram account that's sending fans into a frenzy every time a new casting is announced. Joseph Zada, who is currently starring in Prime's We Were Liars, has taken on the role of Woody Harrelson's Haymitch Abernathy and there's been enough stars cast that fans online have been questioning the budget. While some characters, like Elle Fanning's Effie Trinket, Ralph Fiennes' President Snow and Kieran Culkin's Caesar Flickerman, are returning from the original trilogy, there are many who are new. Readers have been tight lipped on why there appear to be five tributes from District 12 with Wyatt, Maysilee, Haymitch, Louella and Lou Lou and why squirrels seem to be setting off the waterworks. Although we know how his games end, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. "The series was already brutal but Collins holds back nothing in this one. Every chapter is more harrowing than the last and months after first reading it, I still can't look at squirrels the same way. I anticipate the film will do an incredible job but for fans looking to avoid spoilers and to understand why it's sent the internet into a frenzy before next November I'd strongly recommend reading this one." The free trial comes with a total of three credits across three months, meaning that readers can snap up The Hunger Games and Catching Fire as well before paying for Mockingjay. However, a less impressed reader wrote: "I struggle to get into this. Song verses were overused, and it was so tragic, but I suppose it explains why Haymitch was as he is in the Mockingjay trilogy. It was also satisfying to get some backstory on other survivors. But it feels like something is missing, and the arena concept while fascinating, never really took off for me this time."
