DEA, FBI seize $10 million in cryptocurrency 'directly linked to the Sinaloa cartel'
Officials said since Jan. 20, the Drug Enforcement Administration has "seized approximately 44 million fentanyl pills, 4,500 pounds of fentanyl powder, nearly 65,000 pounds of methamphetamine, more than 201,500 pounds of cocaine, and made over 2,105 fentanyl-related arrests."
"In Miami, Florida, DEA in coordination with its FBI partners, seized over $10 million dollars in cryptocurrency, directly linked to the Sinaloa cartel," the Justice Department said, noting that the bust happened in the last few weeks.
Attorney General Pam Bondi said the DEA agents "are doing historic work to keep our communities safe from deadly drugs like fentanyl and dismantle the cartels selling them."
"DEA is hitting the cartels where it hurts — with arrests, with seizures, and with relentless pressure," added DEA Acting Administrator Robert Murphy in a statement. "From meth labs in California to fentanyl pills disguised as pharmaceuticals seized at our border, these operations are saving American lives every single day."
"We are not slowing down. We are dismantling these networks piece by piece — and we won't stop until the last brick of their empire falls," he also said.
The Justice Department said that during the raids, methamphetamine was found hidden in a "truckload of cucumbers" and a "refrigerated truck carrying blueberries."
The operations unfolded from coast to coast, including in the states of California, Arizona, Texas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

Wyndham Clark reportedly banned from Oakmont Country Club due to ‘recent behavior' at US Open
American golfer Wyndham Clark has reportedly been banned from Oakmont Country Club after he allegedly caused damaged to the club's venerated locker room at June's US Open. According to a letter from Oakmont Country Club president John Lynch sent to members that Golf Digest – which, like CNN, is part of Warner Bros. Discovery – obtained, the decision was made because of Clark's 'recent behavior.' 'Several of you have inquired about the situation involving Wyndham Clark and the steps being taken in response to his recent behavior. Following multiple discussions with the USGA and the OCC Board, a decision has been made that Mr. Clark will no longer be permitted on OCC property,' the letter said. 'This decision will remain in effect unless formally reconsidered and approved by the Board. Reinstatement would be contingent upon Mr. Clark fulfilling a number of specific conditions, including full repayment for damages, a meaningful contribution to a charity of the Board's choosing, and the successful completion of counseling and/or anger management sessions.' CNN has contacted Oakmont Country Club and the United States Golf Association – the governing body of golf in the US – for comment. The course at Oakmont frustrated many of the world's best golfers at this year's US Open and only one player, winner J.J. Spaun, finished under par. In what were tricky conditions, Clark – who won the US Open in 2023 – did not make the cut to play over the weekend and finished at 8-over par. Following his missed cut, reports on social media circulated that Clark had caused damage to Oakmont's lockers after one of his rounds. At the Travelers Championship in Connecticut a week later, Clark apologized for his actions. 'I've had a lot of highs and lows in my career, especially this year, some lows. I made a mistake that I deeply regret. I'm very sorry for what happened,' the 31-year-old told reporters at the tournament. 'But I'd also like to move on, not only for myself but for Oakmont, for the USGA, and kind of focus on the rest of this year and things that come up. I still want to try to make the Ryder Cup team. I still am on the outside looking in for the FedEx Cup. So I'm starting to move on and focus on those things.' He was far from alone in his anger last weekend. Many players were seen throwing clubs, slamming them in frustration, and cursing the brutal course. It's not the first time this season Clark has expressed his anger on the course. At the 2025 PGA Championship, the world No. 28 threw his club after a drive, damaging a tee box. Oakmont Country Club is next set to host the US Open in 2033. Clark will have an exception to qualify for the tournament through his 2023 victory. CNN's Kyle Feldscher contributed to this report.

Live updates: House eyes final passage of Trump's bill clawing back federal funding
The Republican-led House could vote as early as Thursday afternoon on legislation requested by President Donald Trump to claw back $9 billion in foreign aid and federal funding for public broadcasting. The Senate narrowly approved the measure early Thursday, handing the Trump administration a victory in its ongoing power struggle with Congress over federal spending. It could be the first in a series of bills that seeks to cancel previously approved appropriations. Trump, meanwhile, plans to sign more executive orders Thursday, and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has scheduled a briefing for reporters. California Gov. Gavin Newsom accused the Trump administration of illegal conduct after it pulled about $4 billion in federal funds from a high-speed rail project to link Los Angeles and San Francisco — the latest public clash between the president and the outspoken Democratic governor, who described the years-long project as soon entering its final stages. The Senate narrowly approved President Donald Trump's request to claw back $9 billion in foreign aid and federal funding for public broadcasting early Thursday morning, handing the administration a victory in its power struggle with Congress over spending. The vote was 51-48. Two Republicans — Sens. Susan Collins (Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) — voted with Democrats against the bill. A group of Republican senators sent a letter Wednesday to Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought asking the Trump administration to reverse its decision to withhold nearly $7 billion in congressionally approved education funding and release it to the states. The lawmakers warned that holding back the funds harms students, families and local economies. Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Arizona) introduced a resolution Wednesday that calls on the Justice Department to release 'appropriate, non-sensitive materials' related to its investigation into deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein. Gallego is the latest Democrat to press the administration to disclose more about Epstein, who was arrested in 2019 on sex-trafficking charges and died weeks later in federal custody in what was ruled a suicide. His death has fueled innumerable conspiracy theories.
