Video: Man Swept Away In Floodwater In Rajasthan, Rescued By Hotel Staff
A video of the incident shows alarming scenes of severe flooding in the area. The pilgrim, holding a water bottle, is swept away by gushing water. Several bystanders immediately attempt to help, but the force of the water proves too strong for them.
What followed was a moment of courage and quick thinking. A staff member of a nearby hotel acted without hesitation. Despite the force of the gushing water, he managed to grab the man and pull him to the side. His swift response prevented what could have easily turned into a fatal mishap. The timely intervention by a staffer from Hashmi Hotel made all the difference.

According to reports, in the past 24 hours, many parts of Rajasthan witnessed light to moderate rainfall, while isolated areas received heavy to extremely heavy showers. Sangod in Kota district recorded the highest rainfall at 166 mm. The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Jaisalmer at 39.1 degrees Celsius, while the lowest was in Sirohi AWS at 20.9 degrees Celsius.
Heavy Rain Alert Issued For 15 Districts On Saturday
According to the weather department, a low-pressure system over northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining southwestern Uttar Pradesh is likely to move northwestward through eastern Rajasthan over the next 24 hours.
Due to the influence of this system, there is a strong likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall, and at some places, extremely heavy rainfall in parts of Kota, Ajmer and Jodhpur divisions on Saturday. Isolated heavy rain is also expected in Jaipur, Udaipur, and Bharatpur divisions.
The IMD has reported that a depression system has entered Rajasthan, which is driving the ongoing spell of heavy rains. However, rainfall activity is likely to reduce across Rajasthan starting July 20, as the system weakens and begins to move out of the region.

New Delhi, Aug 2 (PTI) A cloudy sky with rain is likely in the national capital on Sunday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said while predicting light rain or drizzle. Delhi on Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 33.7 degrees Celsius, 1.1 degrees below the season's average, the IMD said. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.7 degrees Celsius, 1.4 notches below the season's average. The relative humidity was recorded at 90 per cent at 5.30 pm on Saturday. Delhi's air quality was recorded in the 'satisfactory" category at 6 pm on Saturday, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 84, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed. According to the CPCB, an AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor' and 401 and 500 'severe'. IMD issues very heavy rain alert for multiple Arunachal districts

Watch: UP cop offers prayers to floodwater outside his home, calls it a ‘blessing'
A police official in Uttar Pradesh has described the floodwater inside his residence in Prayagraj as a blessing and has even offered prayers to the swollen waters—a video of which is now doing the rounds on the internet. Nishad describes himself in his Instagram bio as 'PSO Hon'ble Justice High Court Allahabad, national swimmer & UP Police swimming champion.' The officer, Chandradeep Nishad, has posted two videos. In one of them, the uniformed officer is seen offering milk and rose petals to the waterlogged street while hailing 'Jai Ganga Maiya ki' (Hail Mother Ganga). He shared the video on his Instagram account with the caption: 'Mother Ganga arrived at our house while leaving for duty this morning. Got blessings by worshiping Maa Ganga at my doorstep. Hail Mother Ganga.' In another video, Nishad is seen dipping into the water, which has risen above waist level inside his house. He also says, 'Thousands of devotees come to you (Ganga), but you yourself came to bless me.' He is also seen swimming in the floodwater while repeatedly chanting 'Jai Ganga Maiya.' The videos received mixed reactions online. While some praised his devotion, others expressed concern over the worsening flood situation. This monsoon season, heavy rainfall has led to severe flooding and waterlogging across several parts of northern India, causing extensive property damage and repeated disruptions. Most parts of Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive normal to above-normal rainfall in the coming weeks, according to recent weather projections. Climate models, including those from the Monsoon Mission, suggest that the ongoing neutral El Niño conditions in the Pacific Ocean are likely to persist throughout the season. Meanwhile, the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) is projected to turn negative by the end of the monsoon. Due to these factors, the easternmost parts of the state—especially areas bordering Bihar—are expected to receive near-normal rainfall during August and September, while the rest of the state may experience above-average precipitation, according to a Hindustan Times report. 'At present, western and southern Uttar Pradesh may witness below-normal temperatures in August, whereas eastern UP is likely to record normal to above-normal temperatures,' said Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at the Lucknow Meteorological Office.
