Sindh Governor announces plots, mobile Phones, and motorcycles for Ramadan
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has announced a special initiative for the holy month of Ramadan, offering plots, mobile phones, and motorcycles through a lucky draw.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Governor House, Tessori highlighted the increasing public engagement at the venue over the past two years. "Every year, the number of visitors increases. Thousands of students are currently enrolled in IT courses here, and so far, 5.6 million people have visited the Governor House," he stated.
The governor emphasized the importance of transparency and public awareness, stating, "Everything we do here is communicated to the public through the media." He further revealed that this year's Ramadan celebrations will be themed "Ittehad-e-Ramadan" (Unity in Ramadan), with renowned Qaris (Quran reciters) and Naat reciters from various countries participating in the events.
Additionally, the Governor House will host special events to mark children's first fasting day, and families of martyrs will be invited to share insights on how their loved ones observed Ramadan.
"We have made arrangements to welcome one million people at the Governor House during Ramadan. Through the lucky draw, we will distribute 50 plots, 100 mobile phones, and motorcycles. Families visiting the event will also be honored and respected," he added.
Governor Tessori underlined the significance of fostering unity and love within society. "Under the theme of 'Ittehad-e-Ramadan', we aim to bring people together and promote harmony. We are making extensive arrangements to ensure a successful event."
Furthermore, he announced his plans to personally monitor city affairs on a daily basis. "I will be inspecting the city every day, and any water tankers operating outside their designated schedule will be handed over to the traffic police. If I am given authority over the traffic police and any loss of life occurs, I will take full responsibility," he asserted.

Tessori also urged the Chief Minister and members of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) to take immediate action against negligence. "Seventy or more people have lost their lives due to reckless tanker operations, yet how many Station Officers (SOs) have been penalized?, questioned Tessori.
The system of reward and punishment needs to be visible. Effective strategies should yield tangible results. If officers responsible for controlling heavy traffic had been held accountable, such incidents would not have occurred."
The governor further criticized the illegal operations of tankers arriving from Afghanistan and the lack of visible action from senior officials. "Despite numerous accidents, neither the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Traffic nor the Inspector General (IG) have been seen taking action on the roads," he lamented.
With these announcements, Governor Kamran Tessori aims to ensure a safe, inclusive, and well-organized Ramadan for the people of Sindh, fostering unity and addressing key urban challenges in the province

'Our government's stance on the issue of Dr Aafia Siddiqui's release is clear and unequivocal,' he had said in a post on X. The deputy prime minister further stated that the government had also written a letter to former US president Joe Biden on the issue of Aafia, and even sought clemency for her from Biden before he left the office. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also met her sister two days ago to assure full support, he said, adding that Pakistan has made every effort to secure the release of Aafia Siddiqui. Dar said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has always supported the release of Aafia, providing all diplomatic and judicial support for her release. Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif also spoke to former US president Barack Obama in this regard, he said, adding that the government made immense efforts to secure Aafia's release in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and it continued to do so.

Three 'TTP terrorists' killed in Swat IBO
Listen to article Three wanted terrorists and "key operatives" of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in a joint operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and police in Barikot tehsil of Swat district, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, on Friday. In a statement, the CTD (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa) noted that a targeted raid was launched on "verified intelligence" regarding the presence of the terrorists. "Upon interception, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire on the CTD team. The CTD responded with tactical precision, neutralising all three militants on the spot," the statement read. The Swat CTD referred to the eliminated terrorists as Fitna-al Khawarij, a term used by the state for members of the outlawed TTP, and added that the operation was supported by local police. The statement noted that the terrorists had been involved in IED blasts targeting law enforcement convoys, armed attacks on police posts and infrastructure, and martyrdom of at least three police officials. Among the slain militants was Ajmal alias Waqas, son of Abdul Ghaffar and a resident of Mulkabad, Mingora, the statement noted. He was reportedly wanted in nine terrorism-related cases and had been involved in the targeted killing of Village Defence Committee (VDC) members, an attempted assassination of an advocate and extortion from civilians. A bounty of Rs2 million had been placed on him for his capture or elimination. Another terrorist was identified as Matiullah alias Ishaq/Junaid, son of Ibrat Shah and a resident of Dubsar, Martung in Shangla district. He was wanted in two terrorism cases and had been linked to targeted killings of individuals assisting the law enforcement agencies. The third slain terrorist was identified as Rahimullah Rahmani alias Roohullah, son of Amanullah and a resident of Shirey, Nuristan, Afghanistan. He was wanted in two terrorism-related cases and had been involved in targeted killings and facilitating terrorist activities. "Intelligence reports further confirm that the cell was operating under the direction of foreign-based, foreign-funded handlers, with active plans to escalate attacks on security forces, public infrastructure, and pro-state individuals," the CTD statement read. It added that the operation stood as a testament to the dedication, precision, and inter-agency coordination of Swat CTD and district police who remained committed to safeguarding regional peace and eliminating the threat of militancy. North Waziristan Two terrorists were reportedly killed and several others sustained injuries during a joint operation conducted by police and security forces in the Shiwa tehsil of North Waziristan. The operation took place within the jurisdiction of Chowk Police Post. Hangu Meanwhile, a key terror suspect involved in the attack on Hangu District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Khalid Khan was killed in a follow-up operation. The operation was carried out by Hangu police late Friday night. According to official sources, the intelligence-based operation was launched in the Naryab area within the jurisdiction of Doaba Police Station. Tank An injured terrorist belonging to a banned outfit surrendered to the security forces in Tank district. The suspect had reportedly been involved in anti-state activities.

Centre, Balochistan vow to eliminate terror
The federal government has decided to continue assisting the Balochistan government in operations against terrorists until their complete elimination. According to Express News, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti in Quetta on Saturday. They discussed law and order in the restive province and the measures being taken to eliminate terrorists associated with Fitna-e-Hindustan, a term used to refer to separatist organizations which get support from arch rival India. Both leaders paid tribute to the martyrs and offered prayers for them. Later, a special meeting on law and order was jointly chaired by Naqvi and Bugti. In this meeting, in-depth discussions were held on security operations carried out in various areas. CM Bugti briefed the attendees on the overall security situation and measures being taken to ensure peace. The meeting also reviewed the implementation of the provincial action plan and examined the challenges being faced. Interior Minister Naqvi asserted that the terrorists will meet a horrific and exemplary fate. "We will bring Indian-sponsored terrorists and their facilitators to justice. Those who challenge the writ of the state will be dealt with with an iron hand. The federal government will continue to fully support Balochistan in the war against terrorism," he said. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti noted that the ongoing war was not just the war of security forces but the war of the entire nation. He stated that all state institutions are working in complete harmony to restore peace in Balochistan. "The sacrifices of our security forces and citizens will not go in vain. Operations against elements involved in terrorism have been intensified and peace will be established at all costs," he said. Balochistan inspector general of police (IGP), Inspector general of the Frontier Corps North, deputy inspector general (DIG) of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), DIG Special Branch, director general of Levies, and other senior officials from the Home Department attended the meeting.
