England forward Nikita Parris leaves Brighton following the end of her contract
Brighton ended the season in fifth place in the Women's Super League, and head coach Dario Vidosic said: 'Nikita has played a vital role in helping us achieve our highest-ever WSL finish.
We can confirm that Nikita Parris has left the club following the expiry of her contract. 💙🤍

'Her professionalism, both on and off the pitch, has been outstanding, and her experience has been hugely influential within the squad – especially in guiding some of our younger players.
'Her goals and tactical awareness have offered consistency and leadership in the final third. We're truly grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her last season and wish her nothing but the best in the next stage of her career.'
Parris began her career with Everton and has also played for Manchester City, Lyon and Arsenal as well as winning 74 caps for England.
Her form for Brighton earned her a return to the national team as a substitute against Spain in February, her first appearance in an England shirt since November 2022.

The Red Devils are keen to recruit a new striker ahead of the new Premier League season and have been strongly linked to both players this summer. United's hierarchy have now decided to prioritise a move for RB Leipzig forward Sesko and are hoping to strike a deal for £60-70m plus add-ons. It's somewhat of a surprising call, given United head coach Amorim would actually prefer to sign Watkins from Aston Villa, talkSPORT have reported. Amorim has made it clear he'd like to bring in players with Premier League experience, such as new signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. Watkins certainly fits that description, having proven himself as a Premier League goalscorer, unlike Sesko, who has never played in England before. But United have decided to focus on Sesko instead because they feel Watkins' price tag is too high for a player who turns 30 in December. Villa are believed to want £60m for Watkins – but United are only willing to pay up to £45m for the 29-year-old Englishman. It was quite a tough season for Leipzig last term, which forced them to change coach after a disappointing Champions League campaign. They were struggling, which reflected on Sesko's output, but he's still been one of their best and most consistent players. Sesko's strengths are certainly his physicality and speed – he's great at making dangerous runs in behind defences, but he's also a very clinical and instinctive finisher, especially when the ball drops to him in the area. His work rate is good and he's a willing runner off the ball as well. His hold-up play is quite strong, but I think his link-up play is a side of his game that he can still improve. It's not that he's bad at that side of the game, but compared to someone like Arsenal's Kai Havertz, he's not at that level. But during his young career, he's shown he can take those steps forward. His mentality is definitely a strength – he's a player who wants to learn and wants to improve so in that sense he will be a quick learner. Rune Gjerulff, German football expert and editor of Bulinews Former United defender Rio Ferdinand has been left 'worried' over United's decision to prioritise Sesko over Watkins. Speaking on his Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel, he said: 'If you get Watkins, you've got guaranteed 15-20 goals really and then you've got that with Cunha and you've got that with Mbeumo. 'Not completely guaranteed, but you've got double figures all the way up front. 'Bear in mind, we were 16th in terms of goals scored last season and these lot are getting you minimum 40 goals between them.' Sesko has played a total of 87 games for RB Leipzig across all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing eight assists. Last season, the 22-year-old registered 21 goals and six assists across 45 games. Ferdinand is not writing off Sesko coming in and succeeding at United but believes the move would be riskier than a deal for Villa striker Watkins. Pointing to Rasmus Hojlund's struggles since arriving in English football, Ferdinand added: 'The only difference is that Rasmus came in and had inexperience around him in terms of [Alejandro] Garnacho one side and Amad [Diallo] the other, for instance, most of the time. 'If Sesko comes in, he's got two players that have played Premier League, scored goals in the Premier League and backed up by Bruno [Fernandes] so I think it's a different dynamic that he comes into. 'But the uncertainty worries me a little bit. Can he adapt to this league?' Man Utd star Diogo Dalot pays emotional tribute to team-mate Diogo Jota after tragic passing
Diogo Jota sadly passed away last month following a car crash with his death impacting the footballing world and Diogo Dalot has talked about his connection to his Portugal team-mate Diogo Dalot has paid an emotional tribute to Diogo Jota and said his compatriot and friend will be 'remembered forever'. Jota and his brother Andre Silva were killed when the car in which they were travelling suffered a suspected tyre blow-out and crashed in northern Spain last month. The pair were on their way to catch a ferry from Santander, with Jota set to return for pre-season training at Liverpool, when the tragedy happened on July 3. Manchester United defender Dalot was close to Portugal team-mate Jota and revealed the emotional toll his passing – and that of his brother – had taken on everyone who knew the 28-year-old. 'It's tough to talk about it,' said Dalot. 'It was a tough week for me, for every team-mate that played with him. I cannot imagine what the family went through. 'I had the opportunity to see them and it's just tough. I don't think there are any words to describe it when such a tragedy happens like that. It hits you. 'I felt that everybody, the whole world felt it, even if they didn't know him personally. It's just a tragedy. 'I think every time, at least me, I go on the pitch, I try to - even today I saw shirts with his name on and I think he will be remembered forever. 'I think he deserves it because he was a great man, a great team-mate. Someone I would say was a role model for me because I always like to see a player's behaviour when you play, when you don't play.' Dalot said Jota's legacy of always putting others first will live on following his passing and said he will treasure the memories he made with his compatriot and team-mate. 'He was always the guy that was thinking and putting the team first. So I will always remember him like that and hopefully he's at peace now and resting where he is. 'He could have played for any team. When you're talking about the personal side, I don't look to the shirts that he represents. 'Obviously I played a lot of years with him in the national team and I spent some time with him in there and I think you create a connection, you create some memories and I think that's what I want to keep, the good memories.
